00:00Enzo Maresca to make and you can see on your screen there Rhys James is coming on.
00:09Becky Ives is in the tunnel with Steve Sidwell. Becky some big decisions there for Enzo Maresca.
00:14Yeah certainly as we were anticipating it weren't we Steve because he stayed in there while everybody
00:18else went out and you were saying he's definitely getting tactics right to him. He was yeah all the
00:21other subs come out for Chelsea. Rhys James stayed in there it's obviously tactics on the boards
00:26showing clips analysis what it is now at half time. A change needed to happen. I was surprised
00:31he didn't start in the first place. European Cup final start your best players. Gusto wasn't at the
00:35races obviously he's come off now but the way that Chelsea are playing they're trying to get either
00:39side of Real Benetti's midfield. When they get in that position they need to be quicker. Cole Palmer
00:45Enzo can they get the ball can the half turn get the ball in behind for Jackson they need to be
00:50quicker and sharper in that final third. Rhys James is out there leading the team talk now the captain
00:54is obviously going to try and take this by the scruff of the neck. Let me tell you Sidders and I were
00:58stood here. Chelsea were hyping themselves up saying hey come on and we went oh that's quite loud
01:02but Bessis. Even louder. They were even louder out there. They're banged up for this. It's the big 45 minutes
01:07for Chelsea. All right let's see what happens. Let's take you back to your commentary team. Lucy Ward
01:11but first Adam Somerton. Thank you Becky. Thank you Steve. Maurice James the only Chelsea player
01:17currently at the club who featured in the 2021 Champions League final. On for Gusto.
01:24And we're going to see a change here from Real Betis as well at the start of the second half.
01:31It's not moving freely there is he? Is Alzulli the goal scorer but he will not be going off.
01:40So it's Perro who's coming on for Real Betis. So a change from either
01:47both coaches at half time. Rodriguez who started at left back is the bettest player who's gone off.
02:00What do you make of the Chelsea change? Yeah Gusto obviously didn't look comfortable inverting.
02:06I don't I'm not sure he ever has been comfortable in that role. So I agree with Steve. The fact that he was picked
02:12to do it and I can understand the the load on Rhys James because they only played on Sunday
02:16against Forest but this is a big game and
02:19Hesalzulli is a problem and has been a problem for Chelsea.
02:24But they need to up the game full stop Chelsea.
02:28Iska to Hesalzulli.
02:30Beautifully done again by Iska who at times ran the show really in that first half.
02:43Play with the most touches the most passes the most passes into the final third and the most
02:48chances created in that first half.
02:51Master class you just felt ease. Chelsea I don't think worked hard enough to stop it
02:57that's one thing they need a really big performance.
03:00in this second half Chelsea if they're going to win this.
03:11Palmer.
03:16They need Palmer's creativity to really come to the fore in this second half.
03:21Winnie Mo Salah created more big chances this season in the Premier League.
03:25Pedro Neto looking to get to this and was brave.
03:31Stooped with the attempted header.
03:39Caicedo.
03:40Maduweke to Kukurea how Chelsea need a fast start to this second half.
03:51Kaicedo.
03:56Caicedo.
04:01Noni Maduweke.
04:02Okay.
04:10Maria Shield, the captain, Rhys James.
04:15Neto.
04:19James again, it's a ball into a good area.
04:24And much better from Chelsea.
04:26And that actually move started with a little clip ball into Jackson
04:30because the better centre-backs, they like to stay intact.
04:34So there's space in front.
04:35So a little clip ball into Jackson actually could work in that space.
04:38And this is something that Enzo Maresca has seen.
04:41But that's much better in terms of the patience for Chelsea.
04:44They just still need that final ball.
04:49Chelsea now attacking the end,
04:50which the majority of their fans are housed behind.
05:00They will be confident of creating chances in this second half.
05:05Chelsea up against a side who've gone a long time without a clean sheet.
05:10Parma.
05:15Part of this challenge for Chelsea tonight,
05:18Lucy, it always was going to be the case,
05:19was matching the passion of Betis.
05:22A club looking to win their first major European trophy.
05:24Yeah, I mean, there's such a high level of passion.
05:27It did look, I know it sounds simple,
05:28but it did look like Betis wanted it more.
05:31They worked harder, out of possession.
05:33They moved the ball quicker when they had it,
05:35and they had a lot of quality.
05:37Chelsea need a bit more quality in possession,
05:39a bit more diligence out of possession.
05:44Anthony.
05:46Followed across the pitch by Kukureya.
05:49Haro, former Southampton player.
05:54Two seasons in the Premier League with the Saints from Ampero.
06:15Bartra.
06:16Right away, Kate, looking for the run of Nicholas Jackson.
06:25It's a good run too.
06:26Support is starting to arrive.
06:29And he couldn't find either Enzo Fernandes or Carl Palmer,
06:32and now the flag goes up.
06:35Just went a little bit too early,
06:36but again, it's just,
06:37he's quite isolated.
06:39Those runs in behind that Betis are dealing well with.
06:43He really likes to stretch,
06:44but there is that space in front of the back four.
06:49He's always going to run,
06:50but he's just gone too far,
06:51and just need the support around him
06:53if that was onside.
06:59Nice Chelsea striker to reach double figures
07:02in back-to-back Premier League seasons
07:04since Didier Drogba.
07:06But was rather starved of service in that first half.
07:41New Correa with the pass, Madueke, floated forward to Jackson, high foot from him, March of the player who was caught.
08:11That was always going to happen. A little bit of a delayed reaction from Barcher, but you can't do that nowadays.
08:19Another change coming from Pellegrini having replaced Rodriguez with Peyro at halftime.
08:40It's like Jesus Rodriguez is going to be coming on imminently.
08:44So there is indeed going to be Rodriguez coming on.
09:09I did notice as he came out for the second half, as Alzuli wasn't moving freely, he is going to have to be replaced.
09:19The scorer have the only goal so far. It's a teenager who's going to be coming on to replace him.
09:25Jesus Rodriguez, 19 years old, first joined Betis in 2021, was born in Seville.
09:31And he's an exciting player, Rodriguez. Blistering pace, so there will be no rest on that right-hand side for Chelsea.
09:43As Alzuli has certainly done his job tonight so far.
09:46I've seen Rodriguez referred to as a rough diamond. He's very quick, the player coming on.
09:51Right-footed, but has often been used on the left by Pellegrini, where he can cut inside.
09:57His running style has been compared to that of Gareth Bale.
10:01Perhaps somebody who needs a bit more end-product, but he's certainly a talent, the teenager.
10:05Nato.
10:27Nato.
10:31First involvement here for Rodriguez.
10:34Inside from Isco.
10:35So difficult to get the ball off.
10:38Isco protects it very well.
10:50Batra.
10:52Nato.
10:57Well, from next season, TNT Sports will be the home of the Emirates FA Cup and Adobe Women's FA Cup,
11:03with more live games broadcast than ever before.
11:05From both competitions, it adds to our extraordinary football line-up from August,
11:09that already includes coverage of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and every match from the Europa and Conference Leagues.
11:17very exciting season ahead.
11:21Good run here by Madueke.
11:30Looking for Jackson.
11:31And Adrian did just enough, but the Chelsea players are saying that that was a foul.
11:35Well, there's two players down here, and clearly this will be getting looked at by VAR, but the Chelsea players immediately there were also, well, two things, I think they were asking about the challenge and also concerned about a clash of heads too.
11:49Yeah, it was a strong challenge.
11:51I mean, both players completely committed to going for the ball, but initially good play down the left-hand side from Madueke.
12:00Madueke, coaching staff at Chelsea, just watching the replay, but I think initial concerns for Jackson at the moment, great ball in from Madueke, and you can see when Jackson comes in, only eyes on the ball.
12:13Good to see Jackson back to his feet so quickly, the information on the screen in front of us, on the gantry, is that a potential penalty check is ongoing.
12:40And now that check is complete, and there will be no penalty.
12:44Yeah, I don't think you'll have a penalty for that.
12:48Good that Jackson's back up, and a little bit more positive from a Chelsea point of view as well.
12:52It's a great ball over from Madueke, isn't it?
12:55But that's what's needed from him.
12:57He got trapped on the outside in the first half.
13:01Can Chelsea really look to ask some questions of Betis defensively here, look to put some concerted pressure on.
13:08In goes the corner towards Badia-Shield, and James hits it!
13:16Another corner, this is more like it now from Chelsea.
13:19Yeah, James, it's made a difference.
13:22I think Chelsea looked better in the opening, 10 or so minutes of the second half, and that could have gone anywhere at that shot from Rhys James.
13:29They'll try again, floated in by Rhys James, and they've worked this nicely here!
13:42It's too comfortable in the end for Adrian.
13:45Just building up the pressure, Chelsea, I'm sure Betis expected Chelsea to be a lot better in this second half.
13:57It's too easy for Adrian in the end.
14:00They have players waiting if the ball was right.
14:02Isco, Chelsea are backing up a bit here, but Cambu wanted the pass, but it goes wide to the right instead.
14:17Too much on the cross.
14:20They're pretty difficult to get that second, I would suspect.
14:23Pellegrini knows that that will be a problem for Chelsea, but it's a little bit wild.
14:28They're seeking to become the first coach from Chile to win a major European trophy, Anuel Pellegrini.
14:37But Chelsea have certainly been better at the start of this second half.
14:41Jackson just moving it more quickly, more swiftly.
14:45Jackson looking for the return ball.
14:48I've got to say, I know that people will point to the level of opposition they face this season in the Conference League, Chelsea,
14:54but you can only play what's in front of you.
14:56And I think in terms of a club, how they've managed the competition, how they've used it to their advantage,
15:01has been exemplary, really, when you think of some of the young players that have been bloodied.
15:04But now's the time where they really need to deliver a big performance against the best team they've played so far.
15:09Yeah, and the first half just wasn't good enough from a Chelsea point of view,
15:13in terms of the attitude and the work ethic.
15:16For a team like Real Betis to work harder than you, move the ball quicker than you,
15:22the second half needs a big performance.
15:26They are dreaming, aren't they?
15:34Those Betis supporters, it would mean everything to them.
15:40Particularly when you consider as well the European history of their city rivals, Sevilla.
15:45They've won eight major European trophies.
15:47And they remind them of it a lot.
15:50Yeah, they move out of the shadows, that's exactly what they want to do.
15:53Sancho and Colwell are getting ready to come off.
16:01James, who was brought on at half-time.
16:03Caicedo.
16:03Enzo Fernandes, Madueke, Caicedo.
16:16Needs some end product.
16:18Chelsea, the game stopped after it came off the referee.
16:21Yeah, I think from a positive point of view for Chelsea,
16:23they've got a little bit more control of the game now,
16:25which they didn't have in the first half.
16:27That's exactly what Maresca wants.
16:29I'm just hoping that there's something at the end of it.
16:32Sancho played in the Champions League final last season.
16:39Back-to-back European finals for him.
16:53Pedro has stayed down here after being caught a little late there by Pedro Neto.
17:02There's a lot of innocence from Neto, but he didn't catch.
17:13Probably not to the extent of the reaction.
17:22There's a feeling at Chelsea, certainly from the manager,
17:25that Neto is somebody that he can still get more out of
17:27in terms of end-product goals and assists.
17:32Kukurea has had a little bit more freedom at Wolves,
17:41going to fit into the structure that Maresca wants.
17:49Kukurea.
17:56So now the changes.
17:57Pedro Neto is one of those who comes off on the hour mark.
18:07Sancho replaces him.
18:08And Colwell will go into the centre of defence, having scored their crucial goal at the weekend,
18:19the winner against Nottingham Forest.
18:23Colwell is probably the best passer from the back.
18:26Centre-back position.
18:28Straight into the thick of the action as well.
18:34Cleared by Caicedo.
18:36Madagascene has gone off for the introduction of Colwell.
18:41This goal is just waiting there.
18:44I can't believe it allowed that ball through.
18:51Let us get the decision.
18:52It is looking to keep going what's a remarkable run for Spanish sides in Major European Finals
19:06since the start of the 2001-02 season.
19:09All 23 Champions League, Europa League or Conference League Finals featuring Spanish sides
19:14have been won by a La Liga team.
19:17Chelsea, still many a goal down here for when it goes towards Jackson.
19:24Out came Adrian.
19:31I'm not sure that Martial got a shout then because Adrian took him out as well.
19:39It's been better from Chelsea in this second half without the end product.
19:42Yeah, I mean, to be fair, they've been better in the second half with a lot of games this season.
19:47I don't know whether it's a tweak tactically from Bereska or it's just an up-in intensity from the players.
19:53Maduike.
19:56Cole Palmer had made a good run but Maduike unable to play him in.
20:02Isco.
20:04Fornells.
20:06Well won back by Caicedo.
20:08Enzo Fernandes.
20:12James.
20:13He's just not allowing the players with gamecraft like Fornells and he's got as much time on the ball.
20:26Sabali.
20:26Chelsea fans behind that goal, which they're attacking, urging their players on.
20:42Noni Maduike.
20:45Challenge was by Pedro.
20:46Caicedo.
21:00Caicedo.
21:03Colal.
21:09It's Bartrae who stepped out well there.
21:13Enzo Fernandes.
21:14Fernandes.
21:14Fernandes.
21:15Fernandes.
21:16Colt Palmer has come short.
21:18This is Sancho.
21:28Palmer.
21:29This is promising.
21:31Just breaks down on the edge of the box.
21:34Just needs that and has lapped that.
21:36Moments of real quality in the penalty area.
21:39It's not the players that you would rely on for Chelsea.
21:42The likes of Colt Palmer and Fernandes have just not been able to find that space.
21:48And that's because of the way that Betis have defended, to be fair to them.
21:50They defend narrow, they protect the edge of the edge of the edge of the box.
22:02And he really stepped forward.
22:03That's a great ball!
22:05And a goal for Chelsea!
22:09Enzo Fernandes!
22:10Enzo Fernandes times his run to perfection, they've found that moment of quality and we're all square in Poland.
22:23Now the two players I just mentioned, Palmer and Fernandes.
22:27How many times have we seen that this season?
22:29Enzo Fernandes timing his run to perfection to get on the end of a cross.
22:35And Palmer just had that bit of quality that Chelsea have certainly been lacking in this game.
22:42Right back in it.
22:47What a good season he's had.
22:51And scoring this type of goal is exactly what he's worked on with Mareska on the training ground.
22:56He's said it himself.
22:58In between the two defenders, look at the reaction from Bartra.
23:02He knows it's so difficult, you've got to track that run.
23:05Both looking at each other, him and Saboli, but in the meantime, Fernandes again just gets a deft touch on his head.
23:13And Adrian didn't know whether to come or go.
23:20It's a glorious ball as well, isn't it, to pick him out.
23:25He just hasn't found that sort of space in this game, Paul Palmer, but you just know that he has that quality.
23:35And Enzo Mareska has been delighted with how much more, how much more decisive Enzo Fernandes has been in the final third this season.
23:45But like all good coaches, he's told him he can still do better, says he wants 10 to 15 goals per season out of him, but he's scored a big one there.
23:53Yeah, I mean, it's been all Chelsea, the majority of this second half, and they've got the reward.
23:58Here they come again, Maduweke.
24:02Palmer.
24:06Offside flag goes up, Chelsea in the ascendancy.
24:09He's seen Maduweke have better games.
24:13He's getting himself on the ball there, and kind of drive forward.
24:17The momentum, certainly, with Chelsea at the moment.
24:19He's got it.
24:35Did admit, Enzo Fernandes, that initially he found life a little difficult under Mareska, said it took a while to him to realise what he wanted from him, how he's flourished now.
24:44Sancho, Chelsea really on top.
24:46And you've got to credit Mareska here, Lucy, because the changes, it would seem, have swung the momentum in Chelsea's favour.
24:56Yeah, I mean, he certainly has that in his locker.
24:59Tactically, he's very, very switched on.
25:02They want another one.
25:06Enzo Fernandes, Sancho, Kukurea, moving it quickly and swiftly, asking questions, Abetis, Palmer.
25:16Slipped by Anthony.
25:20Yeah, I bet it's just looking like they're lacking a bit of legs at the moment.
25:23Everything seems to suddenly be going Chelsea's way.
25:27Palmer hit one!
25:29And the goalkeeper got his positioning just right.
25:31Just looking at Pellegrini on the bench, going back to his coaching staff and he just recognises that his team are just hanging on at the moment.
25:43Rodriguez.
25:51Rodriguez.
25:56Pellegrini.
25:57Pellegrini.
25:58Kambu waiting in the box.
26:00Great contest this, Johnny Cardoso, Isco to his right, he's found Isco, that's important from Kowal and now Chelsea can look to attack themselves.
26:14Sancho, really open game this now.
26:19Should have scored a hit that first time, took a touch, just gives Chelsea the space to attack.
26:24Parma, he really looks to be enjoying himself out there now, he's got Maduweke to his right, still Parma.
26:34James, Caicedo, Enzo Fernandes.
26:39Jalabar.
26:52Maduweke.
26:54Nice football this by Chelsea.
26:56Suddenly they just look so much more confident.
27:01It's amazing what the goal does.
27:04Great turn by Parma.
27:05And his cross was great too!
27:09The turn around is complete in Poland.
27:16Nicholas Jackson with the header.
27:18And no wonder he's smiling.
27:21This is brilliant from Chelsea.
27:22It's just turned into the Cole Parma show, hasn't it?
27:39Two assists.
27:42An absolute wand of a left foot.
27:44And it's that relationship again, Cole Parma, Nico Jackson, they can't quite believe it, they knew the team was on the back foot, these Chelsea fans knew the team could have played much worse than they did in the first half and they've stepped up in the second.
27:59Terrific turnaround.
28:01Terrific turnaround, Cole Parma again has a little look up and he knows, he could see his teammate, he knows exactly what to expect from Jackson and it's about getting that little bit of space.
28:11Can he get the ball right in the right area, Jackson, actually, Adrian was asking about a handball here from Jackson, nothing away, just put it on a plate for Jackson, didn't he?
28:26He hit his chest and went in, he will not care.
28:35They have been checking this in the meantime because of those appeals as regards to handball.
28:41But Lucy, I know it's Jackson who scored the goal, Enzo Fernandes who scored the other, but let's talk about Cole Parma.
28:48Yeah, I mean, that boy can unlock anything and he just needs that little bit of space, his team are playing better in the second half, it's a real, Betis have just dropped off in intensity and it's just given him that space and you do not give Cole Parma that amount of space.
29:06So Bakambu, who had seven goals in this competition this season, he's replaced here by Aitul and Rui Baal.
29:15And we'll celebrate a decade with the club in December, the club captains signed a new deal until 2028, last September, but the momentum shift in this game has been quite remarkable and Cole Parma has, it's, I remember saying, before Chelsea got their first goal, it needed somebody to provide that spark, that imagination of Parma's done that in space.
29:39He has, but I think the whole team has come out, moving the ball quicker, better intensity, more effort, you know, more desire, and that then gives Cole Parma the platform to do what he can do.
29:52Now he's struggled at times this season to make his mark on games, particularly when the likes of Jackson have been injured.
29:59Betis had seven shots in the first half, they haven't had any in the second half, and if we began the second period wondering if Chelsea could match the passion and the intensity of Betis, well we've certainly had the answer to that question.
30:18Yeah, they certainly had to do that, because they've got the quality to beat this Betis team, they've been the favourites all the way through, but they needed to up it, didn't they?
30:29They needed to work harder, they needed to move the ball quicker, and look what happens when they have.
30:34They've praised a lot, and quite rightly Chelsea, for the way that they finished the Premier League season, and I thought there was such a maturity to their performance at the city grounds, such a hostile, intense atmosphere that the Forest fans make brilliantly at the city grounds.
30:58And they dealt with all of that, but such a young team, I thought that was impressive, and they've been impressive in terms of so many other factors in this second period here.
31:07Madiweke, looking for Jackson, Natan was in the way.
31:10Sipi's won! Sipi's won! Sipi's won!
31:14For now, will we see Betis hit back?
31:19Anthony in a race to get to that, but Kukurea matched him.
31:24Yeah, he's one of the best hand markers, isn't he?
31:25Kukurea, Anthony just not had a sniff yet.
31:33Flick by Isco, looking for Rodriguez.
31:40It's worth saying, actually, everyone knows what a young Chelsea side this is, the average age of the starting 11 is just over 24.
31:48It's the first side to start a major European final without a player aged 27 or over in it since Red Star against Gladbach in the 79 UEFA Cup final.
31:59And can you imagine what this experience will do to this group of players, if they can go on and win this, if they can see it through?
32:06No!
32:07Oh!
32:07Go!
32:07Go!
32:08Go!
32:09Go!
32:10Go!
32:11Go!
32:12Go!
32:13Manueke!
32:14Go!
32:15Go!
32:16Chelsea rushing numbers forward, Betis getting them back!
32:20Palmer, Sancho was begging for the ball there for a moment, they don't need to force it though Chelsea, they want the third goal but the stage and proceedings can get control of the game, a smile on his face when that second went, and he was loving it Maresca, he less so, and now, will it be the apprentice who gets one over them?
32:50The team has struggled with injuries and a lot of the team have been playing high minutes and they just look a little bit legged to me in this second half.
33:01But even at 1-0 we've said they are fallible defensively Betis and so it's proved.
33:09Skipper's influence on this Chelsea side as well has been clear to see in the second period.
33:20Says it's the best he's felt physically for some time, Rhys James, he would have been so disappointed not to be in the 11 this evening.
33:33He knows he's got a part to play in, he certainly has done that as he came on in the second half, I don't know how it goes about his business but leads with his attitude and his application.
33:45Still plenty of time for Betis to hit that though, this is far from over and it goes towards Isco, good defensive header by Chalaba.
33:58Chelsea with defending to do here, Johnny Cardoso couldn't make the most of that, it was Nicolas Jackson back defending.
34:16Now can he play him through? He has, has he got the pace here? One on one against Adrian and he overran it.
34:27That's how Adrian slipped as well.
34:32That was almost comical.
34:38The game stretched, end to end stuff, Isco.
34:46Let's see how much fight there is left in Betis, Cardoso, I suspect there's plenty.
34:51Four nails.
34:56Rubel.
35:03Anthony slipped as he hit it, looking for one of his trademark finishes.
35:13Will he yet leave his mark on this final, you wonder Anthony?
35:17So many unanswered questions still.
35:19Rodriguez hoped for the return but didn't get it off Isco.
35:24Nicolas Jackson, out of your picture, has stayed down after that run through towards goal.
35:31My friend just given Palmer a yellow card, kicking the ball up.
35:38I think he has, you know.
35:41He has been booked, called Palmer.
35:44And er...
35:47Jackson is going to require some treatment.
35:53Palmer the first player to assist twice in the final of the major European competition since Marcelo for Real Madrid against Liverpool in New England.
36:002018 Champions League final.
36:03But here is that opportunity for Nicolas Jackson.
36:05Yeah, I mean, it's just this last touch there.
36:07But Adrian slipped as well.
36:09I think just as the game became stretched.
36:14Nicolas Jackson, just that touch as he looked up.
36:17It's too much for his running.
36:19Just while we have this break in play, should let you know that the playoff spots are on the line as the Gallagher Premiership rugby season heads towards a thrilling climax this weekend.
36:30Three teams can still qualify and will have every match live simultaneously from 2pm this Saturday across TNT Sports and Discovery+.
36:39He has been so decisive, Cole Palmer, in this second half.
36:49Five goal contributions in five finals.
36:54He's a senior player for Cole Palmer.
37:04He is a man, it would seem, for the big occasion.
37:07Jackson maybe tweaks the hamstring there.
37:11And Dewsbury Hall, Lucy, who's played more minutes than any other Chelsea player in this competition, gets on in the final.
37:18Yeah, I'm chuffed for him.
37:19Dewsbury Hall, hopefully he can see it out for a Chelsea win.
37:22But he's been one of the course, experienced players that have just helped the young players through this Conference League campaign.
37:31So key.
37:32You know, kept his performance at a high level all the way through, even though he's probably disappointed he doesn't get as many minutes in the Premier League.
37:38And look at those faces of disappointment.
37:41Well, at half-time, those better supporters must have been so confident.
37:47A goal up and the side were certainly the better team in that first half.
37:52But what a reaction it's been from Chelsea in this second period.
37:57They've just basically overpowered the arm wrestle.
38:01They've just overpowered the changes.
38:04Certainly helped Chelsea, but they're just too strong at the moment.
38:09And Moresca wrote his coaching thesis in Italy on the similarities between football and chess.
38:21And he certainly moved the pieces around in this second half, hasn't he?
38:24The Chelsea coach, too good effect.
38:25Yeah, I like what you did there.
38:30The schooling they get, the coaches in Italy, is quite something.
38:39It's no accident there are so many top Italian coaches working in Europe right now.
38:45Conte just delivering the Serie A title for Napoli.
38:49Just need to keep the concentration now, Chelsea, important part of the game.
38:53Lovely turn that by Enzo Fernandes.
38:56And this is Sancho.
38:57Palmer's held his position.
38:59Dewsbury Hall had made the run into the box.
39:04Caicedo.
39:11Caicedo described by his manager as one of, if not the best defensive midfielder in the world right now.
39:17And he's another one who's got through a lot of work tonight.
39:23I don't know if there was one Chelsea player that covered themselves in glory in the first half.
39:26But this certainly made up for it in the second half.
39:29Along with Moresca.
39:31We recognise it really wasn't working.
39:33They probably got a rocket at half-time as well.
39:35But more importantly he made the changes.
39:42Worth remembering this is game number 57 of the season for Chelsea.
39:45Here's Dewsbury Hall.
39:46Sancho wants it to his left.
39:48Could they get another here?
39:50Sancho.
39:51Palmer in the box.
39:52Sancho Benway!
39:55It's a glorious goal!
40:05Betis look beaten.
40:12And Chelsea have been nothing short of outstanding in this second half.
40:19And that's it.
40:21That's the winner.
40:23Brilliant from Dewsbury Hall.
40:25Sancho.
40:27Lost Chelsea fans.
40:28The noise in here is incredible.
40:30And the subs have run all the way across the beach to celebrate with Sancho.
40:37What a finish that was, by the way.
40:44Dewsbury Hall.
40:46Just sent Cardoso the wrong way.
40:48And then it's about the path.
40:50Didn't get it right, did he?
40:51Savalle.
40:52But he's still got a lot to do.
40:53Sancho.
40:54Quick.
40:55Feet.
40:56Just shifts the ball onto his right foot.
40:58And then.
41:00Takes it really early.
41:01Doesn't really give Adrian any sort of time whatsoever.
41:07And that's it.
41:08At times this game has looked like a tennis match.
41:11And that is certainly a game set match.
41:17Coming into the final.
41:19So much of the talk was about Anthony, another player, of course, on loan from Manchester United featuring in this final.
41:28But while he's been kept quiet, Sancho comes off the bench to score the third for Chelsea.
41:33Let's see.
41:40The joy etched across his face.
41:42What a reaction off the bench.
41:46We've got the analyst next to us up here on the gantry and they were going mad as well.
41:50Still an uncertain future for Sancho.
41:55Who knows where he'll be playing his football next season.
41:57There's a lot of speculation about that.
42:01The turnaround in this game has been so stark.
42:04To get pretty kidding!
42:05No one won a recap.
42:06Bye!
42:08들어!
42:09Loselso by the way.
42:10Has come on for..
42:11Vettis.
42:12For now since.
42:13That's going all off.
42:17Isco.
42:19Oh lovely ball and Rodriguez is looking to turn it behind them here.
42:22I can say, hopeful appeals for saying that there was a hand used.
42:28Rhys James, brilliant.
42:32Just got his body in the way, Rodriguez.
42:38That's what they're saying, Rhys James touched it there, it's difficult to see from that.
42:43Yeah, the check's complete, there will be no penalty.
42:47Great defensive, great strength from Rhys James.
42:52Iscov.
42:55Now they need him to step forward right now, Anthony likewise.
43:00He's tame in the end though.
43:10No let-up from Chelsea.
43:13This young squad tonight, coming of age in many ways on a night as big as this, a European final, let's not forget.
43:21A club looking to complete the set, what an achievement that would be, what a boast that is to have.
43:31They really say you won it all, no one else can.
43:34What an occasion it will be in Munich this coming Saturday.
43:49Paris Saint-Germain, the French champions against Inter, the recently deposed Italian champions.
43:56Coverage begins at six o'clock, as announced today.
43:59Steven Gerrard will be part of our team at night as well.
44:03That Cole Palmer deserves the ovation that he is getting from the Chelsea supporters.
44:08What a contribution he has made tonight, particularly in this second half for Chelsea.
44:14Two wonderful assists.
44:16What a player he is.
44:18Just manages to get himself free in that space in the second half and that's how Chelsea play.
44:25Can they work the ball to him in that space and then just allow him to work his magic?
44:30My word, he's done that.
44:33Mark Yu, the player who's come on.
44:35He's been out since early February with a hamstring problem.
44:41Something contributed in the early stages of the Conference League, the Spaniard.
44:45And now it just feels like the fight has gone out of Real Betis.
44:56And I didn't expect I would say those words tonight.
44:59No, I mean, they played with such desire and intensity in that first half.
45:04Betis got themselves 1-0.
45:10Anthony here, the Brazilian and the Argentinian Enzo Fernandes getting involved with each other.
45:19Anthony's really not got involved in this game.
45:21Obviously frustrated.
45:23Brazil versus Argentina there.
45:25How many times do we see that over here in Europe with players?
45:30He'll be so frustrated with himself tonight, Anthony,
45:33because he's been absolutely outstanding in La Liga in the second half of this season.
45:38He says he's found himself again at Betis.
45:41Loves the city.
45:42He's talked about how it reminds him of Brazil.
45:48But in their biggest game of the season, Chelsea have done well to keep him quiet.
45:53And for me, Lucy, I would put Kukurea up there as one of Chelsea's best players this season.
45:57And he's had a big role to play in that respect with Anthony.
46:00We know that Kukurea has played in various positions and a lot of positive from him going forward,
46:05but he's had a job to do tonight.
46:08We haven't really fed Anthony, but anything that he's had to do,
46:10he's defended Anthony very, very well.
46:18Still arguing.
46:19That's just frustration from Anthony.
46:24Knows the game.
46:25Has passed him by somewhat.
46:30Well, how the facial expressions and the mood has changed with the Chelsea fans since half-time,
46:35because their side have just been magnificent.
46:37Yeah, and they've just never stopped singing throughout the time that we arrived here yesterday,
46:43all the way through the night, all the way through today,
46:46and it'll be all the way through tonight again as well.
46:48The Joe Cole song, and all Chelsea fans will know what I'm talking about.
46:52I can't say the lyrics.
46:54That was ringing in my head as I was asleep last night,
46:59or trying to get to sleep anyway.
47:01Everywhere we went with Joe, they were serenading him.
47:11I'm sure he's loving this.
47:13Yeah, I'm going to say Joe loves it.
47:17Bartra.
47:24Riding on the edge of the area,
47:26but that is Kukurea with the attempted clearance.
47:29Could they get one back in added time here?
47:32A minimum of five minutes we will have.
47:39Chelsea so close now to completing the set.
47:44Winning what would be the club's ninth European trophy.
47:48They want the fourth.
47:49Enzo Fernandes.
47:52It's a great pass!
47:53And they have number four!
47:56Kaysado this time!
47:59And that sets the seal!
48:05Majestic from the Redskers' side!
48:12And Chelsea are going to complete the set in Poland.
48:16Now they just haven't been able to cope with Chelsea's physicality in this second half.
48:21And that was completely shown by the run from Kaysado there.
48:28Far too easy!
48:30And the game was won before that fourth goal.
48:34But Chelsea have just kept going and going in this second half and absolutely blitzed Betis.
48:39It's a painful night for those in green and white.
48:46But Chelsea blue!
48:49And Kaysado just kept running.
48:53And it's all about the finish.
48:55Got a little bit of a nick, didn't it?
48:59Of Nata.
49:05Fans in blue behind that goal, don't care.
49:07And fitting really that he should get on the score sheet.
49:19The club's player of the year and players player of the year.
49:22A superb season behind him.
49:28And a quite devastating second half performance from Chelsea.
49:33I know I've mentioned many times the contribution of Karl Barmer,
49:36but you were right with what you said earlier, Lucy.
49:39It's the collective that has been most impressive.
49:41Yeah, the changes by Maresca deserve the plaudits as well.
49:47The players were disappointed in the first half.
49:51But the sheer Premier League muscle has just overpowered Real Betis in this second half.
50:01Ready to celebrate.
50:06And it's not just been in terms of a team effort in this second half.
50:10It's been a squad effort across this competition.
50:12You think some of the players, Lucy, have played big parts in the conference league
50:15who haven't even played tonight.
50:17Yeah, Champong, Tyreek, George.
50:19You know, they've seen these players establish themselves in this Premier League,
50:22in the Chelsea squad.
50:25Bartra with the shot.
50:26More in hope than expectation, really.
50:31This will be such a devastating blow for these Betis supporters.
50:35Some of them close to tears.
50:36They wanted this so badly.
50:41It hurt so much.
50:47Look, the tears flowing in the Betis end.
50:50What a success story this competition has been for Chelsea this season.
51:06Not just the silverware they'll get out of it, how it's brought on so many of their academy graduates.
51:11A flourishing academy, and it's been used this competition to give experience to several of them.
51:20I think there's somebody like Tyreek George.
51:21You mentioned the Champong.
51:24Others we could talk about too as well.
51:26Reggie Walsh, you've got experience at 16 years of age.
51:32I just cannot praise Chelsea enough, Lucy, for the way that they've used this competition in their favour.
51:37Yeah, I mean, they've been at a massive financial advantage, aren't they?
51:40But I think that, like you say, making sure players get minutes, making sure there's a core of experience.
51:47In Cucurea, Dewsbury Hall, Badia Shield.
51:50All these players have contributed to raising the levels of the young kids.
51:55You know, they go over and train with the first team.
51:57And Enzo Marescu looks at them and thinks, you'll do a job for me, and puts them in the Conference League team.
52:01And then, all of a sudden, you've got this experience, and they can only benefit from that in the seasons to come.
52:07Chelsea have completed the set.
52:23Their young squad have come of age.
52:27Marescu has delivered his first trophy with the club.
52:35They are Conference League winners.
52:39The first club to have held every one of the major European honours for this group.
52:47They'll hope it's just the start.
52:50Champions League qualification secured on Sunday.
52:54Now silverware on Wednesday.
52:56It's the perfect end to their season.
52:59Real Betis falls short.
53:01How it will hurt to miss out on a first ever European trophy.
53:05But like Chelsea, it appears a club very much on the up.
53:10Tonight though, in Poland, blue is the colour.
53:15What a second half performance.
53:18Yeah, absolutely brilliant.
53:19I mean, Chelsea have turned a good season into a great season.
53:24Success, and they've brought that back from the verge of disappointment towards the end of the season.
53:28Second half of the season, they've been disappointing.
53:30The end of the season, brilliant.
53:32Champions League team, Conference League winner.
53:35And all that experience for the young players has been almost perfect.
53:40Yeah, that's the word.
53:42Perfect.
53:43The tears flowing, not just from the Betis supporters, but their players too.
53:47They've done so well to reach this point.
53:49And were much the better team in that first half.
53:52But a Cole Palmer inspired Chelsea.
53:55Blew them away in that second period.
53:58They were outstanding.
53:59And it finishes here.
54:01Real Betis won.
54:02Chelsea.
