Coverage of the Scottish Premiership match from Celtic Park, as the teams meet for the third time this season. This will be Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy's first time in the dugout for an Old Firm clash, but he is also the third different manager to occupy that position for the Bhoys in the three meetings against their old rivals this term. The first clash back in August saw Brendan Rodgers preside over a drab 0-0 draw at Ibrox, while Martin O'Neill was in temporary charge of the side when they claimed a 3-1 Premier Sports Cup semi-final victory at Hampden Park in November

00:00...scoring 10 under the terms of Wilfred Nancic, and we will see how the second 45 minutes unfolds as the Rangers players return to the field, and there is the change we were expecting, and confirmation of that change, and it's the man on the yellow card, Taylor Asgard, who has gone off, so Mo Diamondi comes on for his 11th old firm game replacing.
00:30Number 11, interesting to see what impact he has on the game.
00:38Well, in season 24-25, Celtic took 10 points from Rangers, Rangers took one old firm point, last season Rangers took more old firm points for the first time in four seasons, taking seven points from Celtic, Celtic gathering four, Celtic still went on to win the title.
00:57Here, Celtic looking to make a statement, and get some clear green water between themselves and Rangers.
01:08Underway, in the 45 minutes, Rangers will try and get back into things.
01:15Will Celtic rue the fact that they didn't get that killer second goal?
01:25This was the next challenge for Celtic is, can you maintain the levels that you showed in the first half, can you maintain the energy and the creativity that you had, or was that a flash in the pan?
01:36And this is what people will want to try and see in the second half.
01:43Cermiti, beaten by Trusty, Conor Barron.
01:48There's Rasker.
01:49Kusama made the run, easily mocked up by Celtic, and quickly onto the attack, they go.
01:58Tracking back, was Fernandes, Celtic hit their first corner.
02:04Once again, Celtic win the ball, and just simply play the ball down the side of a Rangers centre-half, and they're almost in on goal.
02:11I'd be amazed if Danny Rule has not spoken about that at half-time, and warned us two centre-halves about their positioning, and trying to help each other, and cover for each other, Fernandes pulled John Cermiti out of a hole.
02:25So it's the Trusty, Wander's up, Johnny Kenny being marshaled by Cermiti, and on the angles.
02:35There's the ability.
02:36He breaks down to McGregor.
02:45I thought that took a little nick going wide, Callum McGregor thought so too, and the referee said no.
02:51It's a lovely strike, isn't it? It falls to his right foot as well.
02:54It's hard to see whether it actually does deflect off someone or take a nick.
02:58It does actually, there you go, I think it's Damondi's foot, yep.
03:01And that could so easily have taken a deflection, and went into the other side of the corner past Jack Butlin, but...
03:06Good intent once again from Celtic, start of the second half.
03:11Callum McGregor, got a goal against Rangers in the week-up, semi-final.
03:19Six goals against Rangers.
03:21Just the presence that Celtic always value.
03:30Referee is going to give the foul.
03:36Come on, Stephen McLean.
03:39Little in Scottish football, Stephen McLean hasn't seen.
03:42He will not be influenced by anybody on the jury in blue or green and white.
03:47I mean, that's just stupidity from Niko Raskan.
03:52That probably sums up where he is in the game today.
03:55Came in with big hopes of dominating the game and being the key midfield player.
03:58He's been miles away from it.
03:59He's had no influence in the game whatsoever.
04:01And he's now restricted to trying to pull Arne Engels back and drag him back when his team are in a good position.
04:09Arne Engels got picked on at the start of the first half.
04:11He gets picked on at the start of the second.
04:15I'm sure he won't be overly concerned.
04:16He's side leading.
04:17I'm sure he's got picked on at the start of the second half.
04:47Celtic try to come forward.
04:48Rangers battle there.
04:52That's better from Rangers.
04:53Moore tried to open up to Hermiti.
04:56But look who's back there, doesn't matter.
04:58Yeah, he's a completely different player from what he's been in recent weeks.
05:02I've got to say.
05:04But I just look at that Rangers front three.
05:06There's no synergy amongst them, Paul.
05:08There's no connection between them.
05:09When you look at the Celtic front line, this probably sums it up.
05:13That's probably their best touch.
05:14And there you go.
05:14He can't complete the pass.
05:16It's as if it's three individuals playing.
05:18And there's no real link-up or cohesion between them.
05:20When you think of Johnny Kenny and Negrin and Engels and Yang and Dyson Mayra,
05:25there's a real connection amongst them this afternoon.
05:27And that's where Celtic have been so much better.
05:31Right that time.
05:33The Celtic.
05:34Sterling wants it back.
05:38Sterling's got a bit of pace.
05:39Two in the box for Rangers.
05:41The cutback was to neither.
05:47It's the first time we've really seen Sterling get a chance to come clear.
05:51Raskan might take this through.
05:53Raskan.
05:54Opportunity into the middle.
05:55And Rangers have equalised.
05:57And Shumiti has scored.
05:59And after a game where they've been really up against it, somehow Rangers are level.
06:05Celtic won.
06:06Rangers won.
06:09Well, I just said a couple of moments ago that Niko Raskan has a minimal impact in the game so far.
06:14And eventually he takes the shackles off.
06:19He does what he does best and he gets in beyond.
06:21He gets behind Celtic's back line.
06:23It's good play by Diamandi, I've got to say.
06:26Austin trusts it.
06:27It's poor defending.
06:28And Shumiti, if you're going to get your first-o-firm goal, you might as well get it with a touch of class.
06:34It's a wonderful finish.
06:35It's much better from Raskan that drive and run.
06:37When the ball comes back, Shumiti with a little croix flick into the net.
06:41And out of nothing, Rangers suddenly find themselves in a game where they should be miles behind their level.
06:49Well, that's a finish.
06:50The more you look at it, the more you realise what a great finish it was under such pressure.
06:57Well, he's grateful for it.
06:59And so are the Rangers fans.
07:05As an old firm player, you're always judged against your biggest rivals.
07:09Whether that's a goalkeeper keeping clean sheets, whether it's a centre-forward scoring goals.
07:14And he knows that first half, they needed more goals.
07:18For their dominance in the game, Rangers suddenly find themselves level.
07:24Rangers 0-0 against Falkirk.
07:26They scored in the next seven.
07:27They've now scored in the next eight.
07:29And Celtic's run of conceding under Wilfred Nancey continues.
07:35They haven't kept the clean sheets as they beat Dundee under Mark O'Neill by one goal to nil at the start of December.
07:42The whole tone of the game shifts now, doesn't it?
07:47Well, it does.
07:48And now the Celtic players have questions to answer.
07:51Can they drag themselves back in the front in the game?
07:55It's all a bit composure, all a bit assurance.
07:58Right out the tough moments and then build your way back into the game.
08:01But Rangers certainly, their tails are up, their body language has changed.
08:03You can tell now how they're trying to snap into tackles.
08:05That's one of the oldest clichés in football, and it's a cliché for a reason.
08:12Goals change games, and this game has changed.
08:16What will Celtic do?
08:17Here's Yang.
08:18Provided the spark in the first half.
08:24Big one.
08:27Held up by McCurvey.
08:29Does it, Midor!
08:30Button with a block.
08:32Had to be out quickly.
08:33Sterling turns it behind.
08:34Big moment for the Rangers goalkeeper.
08:37Brilliant play by Celtic once again.
08:38This way of passing Luke McCurvey is absolutely top class.
08:42But how can a player find space in your 18-yard box amongst your back four?
08:46That shouldn't be allowed.
08:48And Jack Button comes to the rescue.
08:49Dyson Maida will know he should have scored.
08:54And goes to the corner.
08:55Shouts of a way, but it's not been sent away.
09:07Celtic with a chance.
09:08Kenny with the opportunity.
09:10Laid back.
09:10McCurvey.
09:12McCurvey has a look.
09:13Almost turned around the corner.
09:17He was gentle from Tierling.
09:20Time stood still for that Rangers defence.
09:22I have to say, it's unconvincing defending once again from Rangers.
09:27I wouldn't be convinced that they can get through the rest of this game without conceding another goal.
09:31But Jack Button, he spoke a bit of his error in the first half, but he's had a couple of huge saves in this game to keep his team in it.
09:42Raskan.
09:43There's Mikey Moore.
09:47Moore on the inside.
09:49Connor Barron brings it under control.
09:50Barron with a turn.
09:51I think that will be a corner that has scored against Celtic, former Aberdeen has scored against Rangers, Connor Barron.
10:01But all of a sudden, Rangers aren't happy with being leveled.
10:04They're looking for more.
10:06Well, they've got a real injection of belief from the goal that they've scored.
10:10They were probably warned at halftime that they could not go out and reproduce that same performance in the second half as what they did in the first half.
10:16And to be fair to them, they've taken up the baton, and when they've got the opportunity, they've taken the battle in the fight to Celtic.
10:25Rangers first corner of the second half.
10:27Same result as the last one of the first half.
10:30Doesn't beat the first man.
10:33Yang.
10:34That was brilliant from Yang.
10:36Here comes Celtic, they've got two in the middle, they can get it across.
10:40Well, what's that elite challenge on Johnny Kenny?
10:43And the answer is yes.
10:49Credit to the striker for getting the ball away.
10:52But Macomah, he was watching.
10:56He got it away, but his teammates going in the book.
11:00Clumsy.
11:01Yeah, it's a late tackle, isn't it?
11:03But just, again, the willingness of Johnny Kenny when the ball breaks,
11:07and there's a chance to run forward,
11:09and penetrate the Rangers back line.
11:11Very admirable for him.
11:14Just his way to pass, he just couldn't take out Dujon Sterling.
11:18I certainly would have been in.
11:18So, Gussama, with the second card of the afternoon,
11:25Rangers being asked to move back.
11:28Behind the spray.
11:34And angles.
11:37Sub in his first three old firm games,
11:39now started the last five.
11:40Callum McGregor, the skipper,
11:46he's telling him what he's expecting.
11:52And it goes, there's a hitter,
11:54and up and over.
11:56Well, Jed Butler with the same,
11:58Yang almost got a second.
11:59Yeah, it's a good move, isn't it?
12:04Someone has to be in that near post area,
12:06you would think it's a Rangers defender.
12:08Yang just...
12:10And Mark just drifts into that near post area.
12:13It's a good header,
12:13but comfortable save by Jack Butland.
12:21There you go, Matt.
12:23That's good.
12:23And Mark is going to have to play it.
12:48McGregor.
12:50Back to angles.
12:51Trying to find a way through.
12:53Challenge was fair.
12:56Celtic might get an opportunity,
12:57Yang with his first misplaced pass.
13:00McCowan.
13:03McGregor.
13:05Angles again.
13:07Good ball into the middle.
13:08Any takers, Yang deflected.
13:13Well, he's at the centre of everything at the moment, Yang.
13:16Yeah, he's had a fantastic game,
13:18we've got to say.
13:19Probably not the one player we expected
13:21in a green and white jersey
13:22to step up and carry the fight,
13:23but he has done.
13:24Credit to him.
13:25There's his header at the near post again,
13:27Jack Butland.
13:27Could he have caught it?
13:28Possibly, but...
13:30Better not have taken any risks.
13:31And just after that shot
13:33that deflected off Benjamin Negan,
13:35I can see Nico Raskin just asking his players
13:37to settle down,
13:37just take a breath,
13:38calm down.
13:39Because since they've got the goal,
13:41Selig have really upped the levels again.
13:46Comes forward,
13:47knock tower to play.
13:48You mentioned that the run,
13:49that Rangers didn't have a man outside the post,
13:52they were on the post.
13:53They were also exposed at the back post as well.
13:55Johnny Kenny was in a million miles of space.
13:58You have to question,
13:59how are they setting up?
14:00Well,
14:01it's a zonal marking system
14:03they're putting in place,
14:03but it's dead.
14:04It's so tight,
14:05the zonal marking is supposed to cover
14:07a bigger area,
14:08but it hasn't done,
14:08and that's a real worry.
14:12Sterling down the line,
14:13given away,
14:14McCowan drops it on the inside,
14:16Sterling sliding in again.
14:19Tierney.
14:21McGregor opens things up,
14:23here's Ralston.
14:24Yang available.
14:25flips it back inside,
14:28Engels and Yang
14:29wanted it back,
14:31Yang sees the opportunity,
14:33and Butchman
14:34mops up.
14:37Got to say,
14:37first play to Celtics,
14:38since Rangers got that goal,
14:40they've carried the fight,
14:41they've regrouped themselves,
14:43they're now back in the ascendancy
14:44looking for that
14:45moment of brilliance,
14:46or that moment
14:47where the game opens up
14:48and they can create that opportunity.
14:50Tyson might have already had one
14:51and missed it,
14:51but
14:51surely hasn't put them off
14:53and their confidence hasn't been knocked.
14:55One apiece,
14:58Celtic and Rangers.
15:02Rangers trying to find a way
15:03to get ahead for the first time
15:04this afternoon,
15:06it's opening up for them,
15:07there's the chance,
15:08and there's the goal!
15:10What an afternoon
15:11it's been for that man!
15:14Yusuf Chermity gets a double,
15:16and Rangers have come from behind
15:18to lead at Celtic Park.
15:21Well, you talk about
15:22masters of your own downfall,
15:24Celtic have a throw in
15:26around the halfway line,
15:28Tony Ralston takes it short,
15:30Callum McGregor comes back to
15:31Tony Ralston,
15:33I think he tries to chip the ball
15:34back to Austin Trusty,
15:36and from then on in
15:38it's all about
15:38Yusuf Chermity,
15:40there it is,
15:41that little flick,
15:42just put it down the line,
15:43Austin Trusty I think as well
15:45has to engage at some stage
15:46with Yusuf Chermity,
15:48he can't be allowed to travel
15:49unopposed,
15:5020, 30, 40, 50 yards
15:52into your 18 yard box,
15:53he has to get across,
15:55if he scores a ball
15:56to Conor Byron there's
15:56nothing he can do about it,
15:58but he has to engage
15:59with the player with the ball,
16:00he doesn't,
16:01and wow,
16:02we spoke about this young man
16:03ahead of the game,
16:03we spoke about the price tag
16:05that's possibly been
16:06weighing him down,
16:07what a way to introduce
16:08yourself in an old
16:09firm derby,
16:10with two goals,
16:11and just look at the
16:12difference in managers,
16:14old friend Nancy
16:15cannot believe that his team
16:16have managed to find
16:17themselves 2-1 down,
16:19and Danny Rule is
16:19absolutely ecstatic.
16:21For all the play
16:22and for all the possession,
16:25Celtic are behind,
16:27the side scoring first
16:28in the Scottish Premiership
16:29have lost just one
16:30of the last 28 meetings,
16:34Rangers going ahead
16:35through Ramsey
16:36in April 2022,
16:38Celtic coming back
16:39through Rogic
16:40and Cameron Cara
16:41records,
16:43but Rangers
16:44have come from behind
16:46in this remarkable
16:47old firm fixture,
16:51they have scored more goals
16:52away from home
16:52than they have
16:53at I-Box this season,
16:54Rangers,
16:56and that is continuing.
17:00Scottish football
17:01never fails to deliver,
17:04never fails to
17:05dig up a surprise
17:07or a shock,
17:08there's no way
17:09we could see this
17:09coming before at half-time,
17:10not a chance.
17:12I think we're more
17:12trying to figure out
17:13how long the game
17:14would be live.
17:15I agree with you.
17:18Well, Celtic
17:19have it all to do now.
17:20Calum McGregor
17:24needs to steady his troops.
17:27There's the one,
17:28two,
17:28there's the chance,
17:30Midor,
17:31my oh my,
17:33Midor's wide.
17:33Oh,
17:35he knows himself,
17:36I have to say,
17:37look at the play,
17:37one touch play,
17:38there you go,
17:39touch in there,
17:39boom,
17:40another good touch,
17:41lovely layoff by Johnny
17:42Kenny,
17:42he's been exquisite at times
17:44this afternoon,
17:45Johnny Kenny,
17:45look at that,
17:46and dies in Midor,
17:47the one play you want
17:48at the fall too,
17:49he just cuts across it
17:50a little bit too much,
17:53it just fizzes wide,
17:54but encouragement once again
17:55for Celtic,
17:56and I did say,
17:57I'm not convinced
17:57this Rangers back line
17:58can keep a clean sheet
18:00between now and the end
18:01of the game,
18:01and they're far too open
18:02and far too easy
18:03to play against.
18:07Can Rangers find a way
18:09to get back to back wins
18:11at Celtic Park
18:12having won here
18:13by three goals to two
18:15back in March,
18:17Ruska,
18:18Diamante,
18:18Higgemann,
18:20Rangers leading by
18:212-0 on that occasion,
18:22back to two apiece,
18:24but here they've come
18:25from behind.
18:28April of 2022,
18:30Rangers came from
18:31behind
18:32to beat Celtic
18:34in a Scottish Cup tie,
18:37but at the moment
18:38few would believe
18:40if you've watched
18:42the first half
18:42and if you've missed
18:43the next 17 minutes,
18:45A, where have you been,
18:46but B,
18:47you wouldn't believe
18:47the scoreline yourself.
18:49Absolutely not.
18:51The Celtic fans
18:52are shell-shocked
18:52inside Celtic Park,
18:53and I have to say,
18:54when the second goal
18:55went in,
18:56I think we were both
18:57shell-shocked,
18:57we couldn't see it coming,
18:58but credit to them,
19:01they've dug deep,
19:02they've had to ride
19:03their luck,
19:04they've been really
19:05incisive when their
19:06chances have been
19:07presented to them,
19:08and that's been the
19:09difference between
19:09the two sides.
19:10now it's finally poised,
19:16now the onus is on Celtic
19:17again,
19:18they've got to go chasing,
19:19they may leave themselves
19:20open,
19:20they may leave themselves
19:21exposed,
19:22more opportunities for
19:23Rangers,
19:23but they have to keep
19:24carrying the fight.
19:25well,
19:30the introduction of
19:31Moulet Diomondi
19:32certainly brought a
19:34spark to Rangers,
19:36I'm not even sure
19:37that man thought
19:38it would make
19:38as much difference
19:40as it has.
19:44Wilfred Nancy,
19:45if he loses this
19:46match,
19:47the last three Celtic
19:48managers to lose,
19:50their first
19:50old-firm game
19:51include Gordon Strack
19:52and Tony Mowbray
19:53and Ange Postacob
19:54Blue Suits,
19:56not an unusual
19:57occurrence,
19:57but it might mean
19:59something more
20:00to his future
20:02tenure
20:02than the others.
20:05The thing is,
20:06the first half
20:07was as good
20:09as they've been
20:09under Wilfred Nancy,
20:11at times it's hard
20:12to look beyond that,
20:13they have been,
20:14however,
20:15we all know
20:15the nature of this
20:16business in football,
20:17particularly against
20:18your deadliest rivals,
20:19you have to win,
20:20find a way to win,
20:21performance sometimes
20:22is irrelevant,
20:23yes he'll take
20:23the positives,
20:24up to this point,
20:25but they're trailing
20:26by two goals
20:26to one,
20:27and they haven't
20:27been good enough
20:28defensively,
20:28Paul,
20:29they get themselves
20:30a clean sheet.
20:34They're clean sheets
20:34now in the last
20:35eight for Celtic.
20:37that's the Rangers fans
20:50having a little bit of fun,
20:51one of the songs
20:52that you've heard
20:52have been a little bit of fun,
20:53one of the songs that you've heard
20:55has been that well-known
20:56tune sack the board,
20:58the Rangers fans now
20:59indulging in keep the board.
21:03The irony of Scottish football,
21:05it's never lost on us.
21:06banter is unbeaten,
21:08that's a free kick.
21:13And that's over to Warford Nancy,
21:15does he stick with what he has,
21:16does he look towards his bench,
21:19he's got the likes of James Forrest,
21:20who could potentially come on
21:21and make something happen,
21:22he's got Paolo Bernardo in midfield,
21:24he needs a little bit of impetus,
21:25Rayo Hattati,
21:26that's another one
21:27who scored goals in this fixture,
21:28but nothing changes
21:30in the next five or ten minutes,
21:32he's going to have to have
21:32some sort of intervention
21:34to get his side back
21:34into this game.
21:36Julio Araujo is the new signing
21:37from Bournemouth,
21:39the full-back,
21:40it's unlikely we'll see him,
21:41here's Connor Barrett.
21:46Yang,
21:48Fernandes,
21:49reads that ahead of
21:50Johnny Kenny,
21:51that type,
21:52Mascar,
21:53away from Maida.
21:58Rangers looking
22:01more comfortable
22:01within themselves.
22:05Yeah,
22:05and the problem
22:06for Celtic now
22:06is when they gamble
22:07even more
22:08and they leave gaps
22:09and they spaces in behind,
22:11the Rangers could go
22:12and capitalise
22:12and even get a third.
22:14It seemed unthinkable
22:14in the first half.
22:18Gossama
22:18trying to pull Celtic wide
22:20and drives into the area.
22:22Gossama
22:23fancied his chances
22:24closed down
22:25by McGregor.
22:26and that will be
22:29a goal kick.
22:32Gossama
22:32it's been a brilliant
22:33spectacle,
22:33really enjoyed it.
22:35Sometimes you give
22:35the games a big build-up
22:36and they fail to deliver.
22:38This game has delivered.
22:39It really has.
22:40It's been great intensity,
22:41bits of quality,
22:42individual errors,
22:44plenty of effort.
22:46And the players
22:46on show
22:47have really delivered
22:48a wonderful spectacle
22:50for us to watch.
22:53And take your eyes off
22:55this one,
22:56Celtic and Rangers
22:57head-to-head.
23:00Almost in the final
23:01quarter of the match.
23:03Sterling fancies
23:04his chances
23:04against Tierney.
23:07Tierney recovers.
23:11Kieran Tierney
23:12gives you absolutely
23:13everything.
23:14Like I said,
23:14I didn't think
23:15he expects it
23:15for that hole
23:17but he's coming on.
23:18He's on the bench
23:32for Bournemouth
23:33against Chelsea
23:34the other night
23:35the 2-2.
23:36He's barely played
23:37this season,
23:37just a couple of
23:38appearances.
23:38That's a gamble.
23:41Yeah, well it is
23:43and it isn't
23:43because he needs
23:43something to happen
23:44and he's something
23:45a little bit different.
23:47You don't know
23:47what he's going to give,
23:48you don't know
23:48what he's going to produce
23:49so I have to say
23:49he's got blistering pace
23:50who loves getting forward.
23:52So that's another
23:52challenge for Rangers
23:53to try and have to deal with.
23:55Like he'll go
23:56and play as a right wing
23:57back and Yang
23:57will come and play
23:58on the left.
23:58So interesting move
23:59to the manager
24:00but if you bring
24:01a new player in Paul
24:02stick him in
24:02in the biggest game
24:03and see what he's got.
24:05Mexican internationalist
24:07is on the field
24:08but Rangers have
24:09earned themselves
24:10a corner.
24:16And Alho
24:17going with a long
24:20sleeve jersey
24:21wants to know
24:24who he's picking up.
24:31The sooner we go back
24:32to you
24:32you've got to put
24:33the ball on the
24:33white line
24:34in the quarter
24:35the better.
24:35This trying to get
24:37it to hang
24:37over bitterness.
24:40When Jacinda
24:41deep Schmeichel
24:41will gather
24:42and Suter
24:43helps him
24:44to the ground
24:45knew what he was
24:47doing.
24:51Steve McLean
24:52leaves him away.
24:55What's this
24:56naughty?
24:57I think he actually
24:58doesn't really see
24:59I think he lands
25:00you can see
25:00John Suter
25:01he's actually
25:02facing away
25:02from the goalkeeper
25:03I don't think
25:04I don't think
25:04he realised
25:04Kasper Schmeichel
25:05was as close
25:05to him
25:06wasn't as deliberate
25:06as what I initially
25:07thought
25:08having watched it
25:08I've got to set
25:10a poor corner
25:11kick into the box
25:12from Meg
25:12Homer
25:12I think that'll
25:13disappoint Danny
25:13Rool more than anything.
25:15With the opportunity
25:16he's to add
25:17some pressure
25:18Masama
25:24is enjoying
25:25this
25:25Raskan
25:26trying to get
25:26away from
25:27Yang
25:27I'm not convinced
25:38the goal
25:38scoring is over
25:39yet Paul
25:39I still think
25:40there's another
25:40twist in this
25:41somewhere along
25:41the line
25:42there's more
25:42than at least
25:42one goal
25:43in this
25:43you can just
25:43tell
25:44both sides
25:45are still
25:45happy to go
25:45forward
25:46and chase
25:46forward
25:46and may leave
25:48themselves open
25:48and exposed
25:49at the back
25:50it's then
25:50can you find
25:51that cutting edge
25:52Charmetic
25:55is on a hat-trick
25:56last Rangers
25:57player to score
25:58a hat-trick
25:58against Celtic
25:59was Ali McCoyst
26:01what a hero
26:03he could become
26:03if he could find
26:04another goal
26:06Anthony Ralston
26:06is down
26:07you mentioned
26:08you know
26:09you expect more goals
26:10at what point
26:11do Rangers
26:11potentially
26:12just decide
26:14look
26:14we're going to
26:14shut up
26:15short
26:15well
26:15that's
26:16the manager
26:17will have
26:17to recognise
26:18that
26:18when he thinks
26:19he's edging
26:20towards the game
26:20does he bring
26:22an extra centre
26:22half on
26:23does he bring
26:23an extra defensive
26:24midfield player
26:24on
26:25but at the minute
26:26I think he's
26:26getting enough
26:27encouragement
26:27that there's
26:28possibly more
26:28goals there
26:29for his side
26:29so once
26:30when you feel
26:31that in a game
26:32you want to
26:33keep pushing on
26:33you don't want
26:34to put a negative
26:34message on
26:35your players
26:36whenever they're
26:36in the ascendancy
26:37I don't know
26:38I don't know
26:39I don't know
26:39I don't know
26:39I don't know
26:40I don't know
26:41but Rangers
26:41will continue
26:42the side
26:46sends it deep
26:48just you mentioned
26:51about
26:51Tramity
26:52potentially
26:52been on
26:52the hat
26:53track
26:53I think
26:54if you went
26:55to the bookmakers
26:55this morning
26:56and asked
26:56for odds
26:56on that
26:57that it gets
26:57said
26:57you know
26:58whatever odds
26:58you want
26:59which just
27:00shows you
27:00how football
27:01sometimes
27:01can
27:02turn the
27:02tables
27:03in case
27:04I name
27:05your price
27:05Rangers
27:08pushing forward
27:09again
27:10referee
27:11allows play
27:11to continue
27:12but Rangers
27:12spring
27:13here's a chance
27:14for Moore
27:14oh it's
27:15through the
27:15goalkeeper
27:16and then
27:16what a remarkable
27:18second half
27:19it has been
27:19for Glasgow
27:20Rangers
27:21they've come
27:22from one
27:22behind
27:23to lead
27:23by three
27:24goals
27:24to one
27:24Rangers
27:27look set
27:27to take
27:28three points
27:29Wilfred Nancy
27:30will he still
27:31be around
27:32at the end
27:32of the day
27:33well
27:35you can tell
27:37by his reaction
27:39Wilfred Nancy
27:39we spoke
27:41about Jack
27:42butland
27:42in the first
27:42half
27:43when Yang
27:45opened
27:45to scoring
27:45I think
27:46Kasper
27:46Schmeichel
27:47has to
27:47save this
27:48one
27:48there's
27:48not a lot
27:49of power
27:49there's
27:49not a lot
27:50of pace
27:50on the ball
27:51it's a decent
27:52enough strike
27:52but you'd
27:53expect a
27:54goalkeeper
27:54of his
27:55quality
27:55and his
27:56experience
27:56and his
27:57ability
27:58to keep
27:59this out
27:59it's a good
28:00drive and run
28:01by Mo
28:01Demondi
28:01you mentioned
28:03that he's made
28:03an impact
28:04in the second
28:04half
28:04but from
28:05there
28:06he just
28:07reacts too
28:07late
28:08the ball's
28:08past him
28:08before he
28:09gets his
28:09hand down
28:10to the
28:10ground
28:10he's got
28:12to expect
28:13the shot
28:13it's going
28:13to go back
28:14across from
28:14Paul
28:14he doesn't
28:15do that
28:15he tries
28:16to guide
28:16it with
28:17the ball
28:17misjudges
28:18it
28:18completely
28:19and somehow
28:20the ball
28:20squirms
28:21under his
28:22arm
28:22and remarkably
28:23Rangers
28:25lead
28:25at Celtic
28:26Park
28:26somehow
28:27by three
28:27goals
28:27to win
28:28well
28:30Calum
28:30McGregor
28:30has seen
28:31a lot
28:31this is
28:32a horror
28:32show
28:32and Mikey
28:35Moore
28:35well he can't
28:38quite believe
28:38it either
28:39you know
28:41yourself
28:41sometimes
28:41you let a
28:42shot go
28:42and you think
28:43yeah okay
28:43it's not
28:44enough
28:44I'm not sure
28:45he expected
28:46that to land
28:47on the back
28:47of the net
28:47I think it was
28:49more hope
28:50than expectation
28:51from Mikey
28:51Moore
28:52he was just
28:52trying to
28:53take a shot
28:53out
28:53and the
28:56concerning
28:56thing will
28:57be that
28:57went from
28:57being so
28:58good in
28:58the first
28:59half
28:59so organized
29:01so disciplined
29:02so dominant
29:02to ship
29:04three goals
29:05it's a
29:06travesty
29:06from a Celtic
29:07perspective
29:07Celtic have
29:09lost 21
29:10goals in the
29:10league this
29:11season so
29:11far
29:1212 of them
29:13have come
29:14under the
29:14guidance
29:15from
29:16Ruf and
29:16Nancy
29:16John
29:23Suter
29:23is the
29:24man who's
29:24down
29:25Rangers
29:25scoring three
29:26goals back
29:26to back
29:26at Celtic
29:27Park
29:27and one
29:28here by
29:29three goals
29:29to two
29:30back in
29:31March
29:31well
29:35Shinya
29:35Mata's
29:36coming on
29:36Johnny
29:36Kenny
29:37is going
29:38off
29:39and
29:42Benjamin
29:42is going
29:43off as
29:44well
29:44really
29:47Tati
29:47is coming
29:48on
29:49I mean
29:51it's easy
29:51to say
29:51we're watching
29:52you know
29:53the manager's
29:54calls to
29:55me
29:55I would
29:55have kept
29:55Johnny
29:56Kenny
29:56on
29:56I think
29:56he's
29:57shown
29:57enough
29:57today
29:58to still
29:59be on
29:59the
29:59park
30:00but
30:00the
30:00manager
30:00has
30:01decided
30:02it's
30:02striker
30:03for
30:03striker
30:03and
30:07it
30:07will
30:07go
30:07back
30:07to
30:07the
30:08argument
30:08that
30:09Celtic
30:09are
30:09playing
30:09a
30:09back
30:10three
30:10and
30:11only
30:11one
30:12of them
30:12has
30:14that
30:14natural
30:15instinct
30:15as a
30:15defender
30:16because
30:16Tony
30:16Ralston
30:17likes to
30:17get
30:17forward
30:17they
30:20don't
30:20have
30:20the
30:20same
30:20instinct
30:21as
30:21what

31:50Maloney
31:50might be

31:52that's
31:53Paul
31:53pitstiel
31:54sitting
31:54beside him
31:54director of
31:55football
31:55so if the game
31:58stays as it is
31:59Paul
31:59certainly got bored
32:01of a big
32:02decision to make
32:03you either back the manager
32:05and give him money
32:05first half
32:06really encouraging
32:07but the claps
32:09and the downfall
32:09in the second half
32:10and the manner
32:10of the goals
32:11and the way
32:11they give the goals
32:12away
32:12has to be a major
32:14concern
32:15I think there'll be
32:16concern here
32:17for some of the
32:19Celtic
32:19board
32:20you don't want
32:20anybody being
32:21intimidated
32:23but the fans
32:24will make the noise
32:25the Celtic
32:28executives
32:29it's a very
32:30uncomfortable
32:31place to be
32:32sitting at the
32:33moment
32:33the board
32:39also have to
32:39carry some
32:40responsibility
32:41if you hire
32:41someone
32:42that's it
32:44if you bring
32:44a manager in
32:45and they're not
32:47winning games
32:47and you think
32:48the last 12
32:48or 13 years
32:49Celtic
32:50have been
32:50completely
32:51dominant
32:51in Scottish
32:52football
32:52they've won
32:52every trophy
32:53they've won
32:53quadruple
32:54trebles
32:54they've done
32:55well in the
32:56Champions League
32:56at various
32:57stages
32:57they've won
32:58major cups
33:00but
33:01there's an
33:02expectancy
33:03here
33:03to win
33:04games
33:04of football
33:04and it
33:06looks like
33:06it's going
33:07to be
33:076 defeat
33:08in 8 games
33:09for a new
33:09manager
33:09that certainly
33:10doesn't bode
33:11well
33:11they're backing
33:12or
33:13they have to
33:14move them
33:14on
33:14that's the
33:15call
33:15they will
33:15be questioned
33:16with Paul
33:16that's what
33:17they have
33:17to do
33:17one or
33:18the other
33:18Celtic
33:26trying to
33:26come
33:26forward
33:27Celtic
33:31already
33:32lost
33:32more
33:32games
33:33this
33:33season
33:33in the
33:33league
33:34than
33:35they did
33:35last
33:35season
33:36they've
33:36lost
33:36five
33:37they lost
33:37four
33:37last
33:38season
33:38the last
33:42Celtic
33:42manager
33:43not to get
33:43a long
33:43time
33:44was John
33:44Barnes
33:45who got
33:4529 games
33:46he lost
33:46eight
33:47of them
33:47he lost
33:48five of
33:4820
33:49in the
33:49Scottish
33:49Premiership
33:50that's
33:51one and
33:52four
33:52this will
33:54be
33:54another
33:56defeat
33:56in the
33:57league
33:57they might
33:58get away
33:59back
33:59here
33:59but
34:01Butland
34:01you can
34:02tell by
34:02the smile
34:03on his
34:03face
34:04that he's
34:05thrilled
34:05that
34:05Engel's
34:06ball fell
34:07into his
34:07palms
34:08and not
34:08behind
34:08him
34:09once again
34:10though
34:10simple balls
34:11down the
34:12outside
34:12it's
34:13giving so
34:13much
34:13success
34:14of those
34:15little
34:15slide
34:16row
34:16balls
34:16down
34:16the
34:17outside
34:17of
34:17defenders
34:18of
34:18the
34:18players
34:18in
34:18defensive
34:19positions
34:20they've
34:20got away
34:20with it
34:20so
34:21many
34:21times
34:21I've got
34:23to say
34:23credit to
34:24Jack
34:24Butland
34:24after making
34:25that mistake
34:25for the
34:26first goal
34:26it's easy
34:26to feel
34:27sorry for
34:27yourself
34:27and crumble
34:28a little
34:28bit
34:28but he's
34:29been pivotal
34:30and keeping
34:31Rangers in
34:32this game
34:32when they're
34:32being through
34:33the tough
34:33times
34:33save after
34:35save
34:35good
34:35defensive
34:36work too
34:36from
34:37John
34:38Sutter
34:38well
34:42we're 12
34:43minutes to
34:43play
34:43Rangers
34:44have gone
34:44into
34:44we're
34:45going to
34:45take
34:45our
34:45time
34:46mode
34:46which
34:47will
34:48infuriate
34:48the
34:48crowd
34:49Danny
34:51will
34:52be
34:52absolutely
34:52thrilled
34:52Matthias
34:53Catherine
34:53Bach
34:54here's
34:56Kusama
34:56surely
34:57not
34:57a
34:57fourth
34:58here's
35:02Raskat
35:03Raskat
35:07he's
35:09going to
35:10draw
35:10the
35:10free
35:10kick
35:10and
35:13Diamandic
35:13tells him
35:14no hurry
35:15players
35:17perspective
35:17my
35:18perspective
35:18I think
35:19there's a
35:19huge
35:20difference
35:20between
35:203-1
35:21and
35:214-1
35:213-1
35:22is a
35:22loss
35:224-1
35:23is a
35:23thump
35:23up
35:24I have
35:25to say
35:25if it goes
35:254-1
35:26it puts
35:26the manager
35:27under
35:27serious
35:28pressure
35:29even though
35:29at this
35:30moment
35:30he is
35:30under
35:30pressure
35:31if it
35:31goes
35:324-1
35:32it
35:32becomes
35:33serious
35:33pressure
35:33because
35:34what you
35:34done
35:34in the
35:35first
35:35half
35:35and how
35:35you
35:35played
35:36is
35:36gone
35:36completely
35:37obliterated
35:38and you're
35:38judged
35:39on the
35:39second
35:39half
35:39performance
35:40what you
35:40said
35:41at
35:41halftime
35:41why
35:41the
35:42players
35:42didn't
35:42step
35:42up
35:42second
35:43half
35:43in the
35:44manner
35:44of the
35:44goals
35:45and how
35:45you
35:45capitulated
35:45as a
35:46worry
35:46Diomone
35:47and Schmeichel
35:48with a
35:48punch
35:48away
35:49Celtic
35:53trying to
35:54find a
35:54way
35:54through
35:55Baden
35:57somewhere
35:59kept that
36:00in play
36:00Gossama
36:01on to
36:02Moor
36:02Rangers
36:03looking
36:03threatening
36:04Moor
36:05Raskan
36:06there's the
36:06ball on
36:07the angle
36:07Gossama
36:08not a
36:08million miles
36:09away
36:09and it's
36:10now Celtic
36:11being unpicked
36:12by the
36:12passes
36:13yeah
36:14they just
36:14when you're
36:15chasing a
36:15game
36:15and it's
36:16going to
36:16against you
36:16you become
36:17really ragged
36:18you make
36:18substitutions
36:18you try
36:19and make
36:19something
36:20happen
36:20discipline
36:21goes
36:21from players
36:22because they're
36:22just thinking
36:22getting forward
36:23all the time
36:24and that's
36:24where if Rangers
36:25win the ball
36:26if they can
36:26just pick
36:27the right
36:27pass
36:27compose
36:28themselves
36:29don't try
36:29and force
36:29the issue
36:30the gaps
36:31and the
36:31opportunities
36:31may just
36:32open up
36:33for them
36:33but Celtic
36:34have to
36:34keep going
36:34forward
36:35and if they
36:35can get a
36:36goal
36:36in the next
36:36four or five
36:37minutes
36:37there has
36:38to be
36:38a real
36:38final push
36:39towards the
36:39end
36:39of the
36:39game
36:40to try
36:40and make
36:40wiser
36:40at least
36:41if I'm
36:48right
36:48I'm going
36:49to try
36:49and check
36:49my arithmetic
36:51one more
36:53goal
36:53for Rangers
36:54not only
36:55would cement
36:55the win
36:56we put
36:56them above
36:57Celtic
36:57into second
36:58the goal
37:00difference
37:00coming into
37:01today was
37:02plus four
37:02in Celtic's
37:03favour
37:04and that
37:04has been
37:06wiped away
37:07and for some
37:08of these Celtic
37:08fans
37:09they have
37:10seen enough
37:11and at
37:12half-time
37:12if you'd
37:13said to
37:13them
37:13look
37:13lads
37:14you'll
37:14be
37:14leaving
37:14early
37:14they'd
37:15be
37:15thinking
37:15yeah
37:16that's
37:16because
37:16we're
37:16ahead
37:17by two
37:18three
37:18or
37:18four
37:18this
37:22has been
37:22a theme
37:23under
37:23Danny
37:23Roe
37:24at Rangers
37:25where
37:25they've
37:25won
37:25games
37:26they
37:27haven't
37:27always
37:27played
37:27well
37:28they
37:28probably
37:28haven't
37:28always
37:29deserved
37:29to
37:29win
37:29but
37:30they've
37:31found
37:31a way
37:31to
37:31make
37:32it
37:32work
37:32they've
37:32found
37:32a way
37:33to
37:33make
37:33it
37:33happen
37:33and
37:35this
37:35is
37:35exactly
37:35what's
37:36happened
37:36this
37:36afternoon
37:37long spelled
37:38Selig
37:39have been
37:39the better
37:39team
37:40they've
37:40had
37:40the better
37:40chances
37:40and Jack
37:41Butler
37:41has been
37:41the busier
37:42goalkeeper
37:42but
37:43sometimes
37:44there's a
37:44manager
37:45that lands
37:45in your
37:46favour
37:46so
37:54Ralston
37:55on to
37:56McGregor
37:56Celtic
37:57looking
37:57for
37:57a
37:58route
37:58back
37:59into
37:59this
37:59one
37:59you
38:00fancy
38:01if
38:01they
38:01can
38:01get
38:01one
38:02they
38:02could
38:02get
38:02two
38:03it's
38:04the
38:04old
38:04story
38:05Chirmity
38:07needs
38:07to
38:07look
38:07after
38:08the
38:08ball
38:08better
38:08than
38:09that
38:09from
38:10the
38:10Rangers
38:11perspective
38:11Tierney
38:18there's
38:21a bit
38:21of an
38:21element
38:22of being
38:22fed up
38:23in that
38:23challenge
38:23you could
38:24see
38:24just the
38:24way he
38:25thumped
38:25the ball
38:25out
38:25and he
38:26reacted
38:26you've
38:29got to
38:29give a
38:29little bit
38:30of credit
38:30to
38:30Yusuf
38:30Chirmity
38:31as well
38:31Paul
38:31because
38:32arguably
38:32had his
38:33best game
38:33in a
38:33Rangers
38:34jersey
38:34on
38:34Tuesday
38:34night
38:35against
38:36Samir
38:36and
38:36didn't
38:36get
38:36his

38:37today
38:37he's
38:37been
38:38effective
38:38at

38:39but
38:40he's
38:40found
38:40a way
38:40to
38:40go
38:41and
38:41he's
38:41just
38:42given
38:42Rangers
38:42a
38:42different
38:42dynamic
38:43that
38:43they
38:43possibly

38:50a lot
38:51has been
38:51expected
38:52of him
38:52and he's
38:53had to
38:53take
38:53the
38:53criticism
38:54and
38:55Adelik
38:55today
38:55has to

46:07or so
46:08Kieber, getting his first old firm goal.
46:21And interesting, you know, at one point we thought Rangers were almost out on their feet.
46:27It's amazing what a goal it can do for you, it's amazing the energy, Paul, and the lift it can give you.
46:33Never mind physically, mentally, Rangers needed that lift.
46:35As they were, there were miles of it in the first half, they looked lethargic, they looked heavy-legged, uninspiring, everything.
46:43That Danny Rule would have been worried about ahead of the game, that's exactly what they were in the first half.
46:46Suddenly, you get the equaliser, and you come to life.
46:51Wozja Majewski being called upon.
46:59Well, he's being allowed the opportunity to come off, to take the applause
47:04of those Rangers fans.
47:08Two goals, couldn't find a way to a hat-trick.
47:12I'm not sure he'll be overly bothered by that in the end.
47:16The last Rangers player to come close to a hat-trick was James Taman here.
47:20And a 3-2 loss at Celtic Park, when he scored twice.
47:24James Taman Roof also got a double, back in May of 2021.
47:31Do you think Kevin Felwell's sitting in a dark room somewhere with a little rice mine in his face?
47:36I told you so.
47:37He did say he would score goals, and he would get better.
47:40And that probably will be the case, but Rangers just needed someone instantly.
47:46Yellow cards.
47:47How's that for making an impact on an old-sum game?
47:49Well, he's like, yeah, I mean, I think, I think an impact.
47:57Yeah.
47:58And especially up here.
47:59Yeah, and he's 21 years of age.
48:01And he's a football, hasn't really a big ask for him.
48:05But credit to him, he's stuck at it.
48:07He's accepted the criticism, he's tried to make himself better.
48:09The manager will have worked with him.
48:10And they will hope that this is the day that his Rangers career ignites.
48:16Contrasting finishes, but both very effective.
48:21As we're in stoppage time, Celtic.
48:24Can James Forrest spark something?
48:27Forrest, low.
48:31Barron tries to get her away.
48:33Like, that could be interesting.
48:36None of the Celtic players reacting strongly.
48:39Like, you always wonder when a player goes down in the box.
48:42And the boot bust side up.
48:46Scales into the middle.
48:49Weak shout for handball.
48:50Might have battled for it.
48:52Still might work for him.
48:55Somehow Rangers get it away.
49:01Low cross.
49:05Scales.
49:06Might have been disappointed not to start this one.
49:09Here's Yang.
49:17Celtic next at home against Dundee United.
49:20That won't be easy.
49:23Forrest.
49:24No way through.
49:25That won't be easy.
49:35That won't be easy.
49:35That won't be easy.
49:37Should have got the header away.
49:40Yeah, they've stood firm.
49:41At times, it's been untidy.
49:42It's been unconvincing, but...
49:44They've done the job.
49:45They put their bodies in the line.
49:47They threw themselves in front of things.
49:49That's at it.
49:51Under two to play.
49:53Forrest.
50:05Jack Butlin.
50:05I'll tell you what, he fizzed that in the Mexican international.
50:08He's run from the books of Barcelona.
50:11Jack Butlin standing at his post.
50:13And he sent it come again.
50:22Blocked.
50:23I cannot tell you how unusual it is to see so many empty seats at the end of an old firm game between Celtic and Rangers.
50:30At either ground, but especially here in recent times.
50:33I think there was a lot of fear and trepidation from Celtic fans coming into today's game.
50:38But they will have been so heartened and encouraged by the first half performance.
50:42And then so deflated by how the second half transpired.
50:45Inside the final 60 seconds.
50:56Well, the first derby of the season between these two.
51:01Would have sent you to sleep.
51:03This one will give Celtic nightmares.
51:05McGregor, Butlin will come and gather.
51:16And he'll stay down there for as long as he can potentially get away with it.
51:22All firm games and derby games aren't about the best team that wins.
51:26It's about the most efficient side.
51:28And you have to say, Rangers have been efficient when their opportunity has been presented to them.
51:32And they're all.
51:36Puts his arm around Wilfred Nancy, who simply wants to get down the tunnel.
51:40Who can blame him?
51:43Will he come out of that tunnel again as Celtic manager?
51:47That's going to be the question for the Celtic board.
51:50It is a long, long, lonely walk back to the Celtic dressing room.
51:57And looking like that, he might think it is all over.
52:00But contrast to the other half of Glasgow.
52:04Mikey Moore getting his goal, the third goal, which put the game here on Rangers.
52:10Danny Roll enjoying what is his first old firm success.
52:14Yang played tremendously in the first half.
52:17Gave Celtic the lead for Josef Chirmity.
52:20It was the day he announced himself as a Rangers player.
52:23And on the day that Rangers and Danny Roll had their signature win.
52:29But it hugged all round for Rangers.
52:36Callum McGregor.
52:39Well, he'll feel absolutely dreadful after this.
52:42Where does Celtic go from here?
52:49It's Rangers day in the green and white half of Glasgow.
52:57And fair play to the Celtic players for all the handshakes.
53:01There will be an inquest to come as far as Celtic are concerned.
53:07But Danny Roll will watch all his background team on the field to play.
53:10They'll go over to the Rangers fans.
53:13The Celtic players bless them.
53:16I don't know about you.
53:19I mean, they're going around and saying thank you.
53:21I just want to be down that tunnel today.
53:23Yeah, I think the Celtic players, you have to recognise how the game has went.
53:27How it's transpired for you.
53:28Get yourself up the tunnel.
53:30Supporters don't want to see you at this moment in time.
53:31They're hurting.
53:32They're stinging a little bit.
53:33They've just been beat by their biggest rivals.
53:35So get yourself down the tunnel.
53:37Get yourself fixed.
53:38Get the mindset right for the next game coming up.
53:40As for Rangers, they've waited a long time for this, haven't they?
53:43It's been a challenging season.
53:44They've lost their manager.
53:45They've got a new manager coming in.
53:47He's rebuilt confidence.
53:48He's rebuilt the belief within the squad.
53:51Today is a big day for them individually.
53:53They have to grasp the opportunity they've been presented.
53:56Now they're in a title race.
53:57Can they kick on and be better from here on in?
53:59So certainly a day they'll remember.
54:01But we know in football, you get into the dressing room,
54:03you have your shower, you put your tracksuit on, it's done.
54:06What's coming next for you?
54:07And Rangers have got Aberdeen during the week.
54:09Aberdeen will come calling on Tuesday night.
54:13And then Rangers go up to Pitotri the following Sunday.
54:18But what an afternoon for Yosef Chermiti.
54:22And you can see the Portuguese under-21 will enjoy every single moment of the day.
54:29Never scored a top-class goal in 25 appearances for Everton.
54:34But he gets two today to add to the two that he had already as a Rangers player.
54:40But these mean something.
54:42And Mikey Moore also thrilled.
54:46What an afternoon it has been at Celtic Park.
54:50First 45 minutes belonged to Celtic.
54:54The second 45 minutes emphatically belonged to Rangers.
54:58We'll review the goals next.
