00:00I think that both teams are better than last year's versions.
00:04And we had a seven-game series last year.
00:07I think we get a seven-game series again,
00:09but we get to it, Tom, in a much different way than last year.
00:11I don't see the 3-0 and the 3-0.
00:13I think this year you get more of the punch, punch, back, punch, punch, back
00:17to get us into a deep series.
00:19Yeah, that's exactly where I am.
00:21The one point I would make about the players being better,
00:24I think that's absolutely true on both sides.
00:25The question I want to see from Edmonton is who's going to step up
00:29and be better, now it's Zach Hyman done for the Oilers.
00:32Like, you have this experience, okay, it's like, okay,
00:34but someone else needs to fill that void.
00:36Obviously, Zach Hyman is unbelievable at scoring goals on the power play,
00:39whatever it might be, but you need someone else who was okay last year
00:43now to be great to fill that role.
00:45So I'm on with this series going six or seven games,
00:48but I really do think it comes down to the depth from both sides.
00:50That's where this series is going to be won or lost.
00:53Yeah, and you make a great point because, you know,
00:56look at what Edmonton got just looking at that fifth game
00:59against Dallas on Thursday night.
01:01Wow, Jeff Skinner scored a goal.
01:03You know, they got a goal from Jeff Skinner.
01:06And I think the guy for me that you're going to see more of,
01:10and look, Sid, he's been around anyway,
01:12and this is what is like, he's been in the Stanley Cup final.
01:16Is this five out of six years or six out of seven years?
01:18I think that you will see Corey Perry kind of take a little bit more
01:23in this series, especially with Hyman out.
01:25I think that you could see him, that drive is there.
01:29He knows, man, I might not get another crack,
01:31even though it seems like he has one every year, Tom.
01:33I think that you're going to see Corey Perry want to put that finishing touch
01:38and get that next cup for him before he closes it down.
01:41Absolutely.
01:42I mean, he lost with the Habs.
01:43He lost with Tampa.
01:46He lost with the –
01:48Dallas.
01:48He lost with Dallas.
01:49Like, year after year.
01:50It's like, that was a joke.
01:52Like, listen, if you want your team to lose,
01:53you just simply sign Corey Perry.
01:55It means you'll make the Stanley Cup,
01:56and it means you would lose at a certain point.
01:57And I think if he wins, I think he hangs it up
01:59just because it has been a long few seasons for him
02:03getting to the Stanley Cup, trying to get it,
02:05and then just not eventually getting there.
02:06But I do like his role in the power play.
02:08That net front presence, along with McDavid,
02:11obviously dry set on that near dot.
02:13If he can cause some havoc in there inside Boborowski,
02:16he's in the spot to score two, three goals this series.
02:19And I think that's what's the most impressive thing to me
02:21about Edmonton this year.
02:22They are not just McDavid and Dreisaitl.
02:27I think years past in the playoffs, Tom,
02:29they were so built on.
02:31McDavid and Dreisaitl have to carry them to the end.
02:33They have to be the guys.
02:34I even think last year, getting to that seventh game,
02:37it was – and McDavid won the Conn Smythe in a losing effort.
02:39He was so good.
02:41I don't think they've had to do that this year.
02:43I think it's been a much different journey for them
02:45through the first three rounds to get to this point.
02:48And I think that that's going to serve them even more
02:50because maybe now you get the blow-up McDavid going nuts
02:54or Dreisaitl going nuts series,
02:56and what a time it would be if you actually got it
02:59in the Stanley Cup final.
03:00Well, let's take a break.
03:00Let's take a break.
