00:00Or what did you think of the game and all the violence?
00:03Well, you know what?
00:04I think that you and Mike went over it pretty well.
00:07There's not really much to add.
00:10Listen, the Oilers, the Oilers are a physical team, right?
00:13The Oilers have a lot of big dudes.
00:14The Oilers can play a rough style of hockey.
00:19But last night, they just got carried away.
00:22And we saw this.
00:23We've seen this in the past with them.
00:24I've talked about that Dallas Star game that they lost.
00:27The same thing happened.
00:28They lost control.
00:29They lost their composure for about 10 minutes and ended up losing the hockey game.
00:33Last night, they lost their composure for about 50 minutes.
00:36Up to 60 minutes.
00:39Like, dude, Scott, like the first period, okay?
00:42So you're trying to win the Stanley Cup.
00:44How do you win the Stanley Cup if you spend eight of the first 20 minutes playing shorthanded?
00:50Like, how are you going to win?
00:52Like, you know, I'll be the coach right now and talk to the team in the room.
00:55I'll say, guys, like, dude, Evander Kane took two penalties in the first period.
01:00Corey Perry took a penalty.
01:01There was another one.
01:02It was constant.
01:04It's like we're constantly shorthanded, guys.
01:06And as soon as, like, you know, how many times have you seen in this series that the Oilers are on a power play and somebody will take a penalty while they're on the power play, Scott?
01:17Yeah.
01:17Like, McDevitt even did it.
01:18Like, it's like, guys, stop worrying about the little one-on-one battles.
01:23You're losing them.
01:24Just deal with it.
01:26Worry about putting the puck in the net.
01:27You saw.
01:28You saw in the first two games, and I know they split, but you saw in the first two games, the Panthers were the ones, Scott, doing stupid things, running the goalie in the penalty box.
01:38And remember, Kachuk and Bennett were laughing in the penalty box after they ran into the goalie?
01:42They weren't laughing after the Oilers scored, right?
01:45And, like, if you're the Oilers, that's how you pay them back.
01:49You know, eventually the refs will call the Panthers for a penalty, get on the power play.
01:53But another thing to be told is the Oilers' power play really hasn't been all that good in this series.
01:58It really hasn't.
01:59And, you know, I think it's a lot to do with just how good Florida's penalty kill is.
02:03And also, Scott, Skinner was great in the first two games.
02:08All right?
02:08Like, you know what I mean?
02:09Those overtime games, he made a million saves.
02:11But there's a pattern now.
02:15I think he's given up a goal on, like, four straight breakaways.
02:18I know he's getting burned on breakaways.
02:20That Bennett goal, he made him look terrible.
02:23Yeah, like, every time.
02:24Every time there's a breakaway, they score.
02:26Like, it's not like, oh, okay, like, every time there's a breakaway, you almost know, oh, God, they're going to score.
02:32And then they do.
02:33It's like, dude, you've got to stop these.
02:35Like, you've got to stop them.
02:36And it was the, oh, wow, you know, the defenseman got a stick on it, and the puck slowed down, and it threw him off.
02:41No, whatever, dude.
02:42And, you know, okay, Marchant beats him.
02:44Marchant keeps beating him all the time on a breakaway.
02:47Right?
02:48You know, there was, I think, Reinhardt scored top shelf.
02:50That was impossible to stop.
02:51No one's stopping that.
02:53So, Skinner's got to be better.
02:54I go back to him, though, Scott.
02:56I think Skinner will be fine.
02:57But he's got to stop making a couple of, just a couple of more saves early in these games.
03:02They can't fall behind.
03:03They can't dig themselves a hole.
03:05And I do 100% agree with you.
03:07The series sort of started last night, Scott.
03:11You know what I mean?
03:12Like, last, you know, the first two games, okay, you know, these teams are so resilient.
03:15It's not a must win.
03:17Edmonton need to win.
03:18Like, they cannot be, they're not winning the Stanley Cup if they're down 3-1.
03:21Just point blank.
03:23It'll, you know, maybe they'll go back home to Edmonton and squeeze it out and then go back to Sunrise and lose.
03:29Right?
03:29Like, they can lose.
03:30What if they win?
03:30What if they actually snap out of last night's funk, which they were clearly in deep water?
03:38What if they show up on Thursday night and actually say, screw you and win the game?
03:45And then go home for a game five and get back to their speed fifth year?
03:49They're going to have to find a way to win two games in a row.
03:52Winning one game won't be enough anymore, right?
03:55That's, you just nailed it.
03:56They got to find a way to win multiple games in a row now in this series.
04:01I get the feeling, listen, is this, is this not going seven?
04:05I'm not going to, you know, the Edmonton Oilers lost last night.
04:08And this sounds cliche, guys, but let's not remember.
04:11Let's not, let's recall and let's not forget.
04:13Last year, the Oilers beat them 8-1 in one of the games.
04:17All right?
04:17It happens.
04:19You see it in the NBA.
04:20It happens less in the NHL.
04:21So it's a little bit more jarring.
04:23And everyone's emotional in the playoffs.
04:25When you win, you're so high.
04:27When you're low, when you lose, you're so low.
04:29You've got to sort of keep even keeled, even if you're a fan or a better through this.
04:33But, you know, to me, I mean, this, this is just, you know, this is, this is going to go the distance again.
04:40I think Edmonton will bounce back and then suddenly we're going to have a best of two or three.
04:44But if you're Edmonton, Florida are so damn good, Scott.
04:47You have to be ahead of them.
04:49Like if Edmonton are down 3-2 in the series, I don't think you're going to win.
04:52Like if they're up 3-2 in the series, they have a chance to win.
04:56Right?
04:56Like they, Florida, you have to, you have to be up multiple goals in the games.
05:01You have to be up multiple games in the series with them.
05:04Like if the game is tied.
05:06Yeah.
05:07If the game is tied, you're losing with these guys.
