Jacinta Allan slammed after not speaking to gathered CFA volunteers

Premier Jacinta Allan has been slammed after she didn't meet with any CFA volunteers who rallied outside Camperdown's Killara Centre during her visit to the south-west.

00:07that's frank, that's respectful. We're peaceful people. We're not here to demonstrate scream

00:13and shout and be awful. We're here to demonstrate that there is a very deep feeling of hurt within

00:20our community.

00:30I've scrapped the text to start with. That's the

00:59number one thing. The community is dead against it and I really think not too many people understand

01:12what the increase is going to be.

01:15Be mindful and actually have a look at what's going on before we start making rash decisions.

01:20It's not fair.

01:29I don't have advice on that, but given it's a drought, that would not be the best use

01:47of water now, would it?

01:57I think what's important here is I will meet with anyone who wants to have an engagement

02:03that's open, that's frank, that's respectful. And that's why I've been determined to provide

02:11additional support to our emergency services network because of the such vitally important

02:16work that they do. It is so important that we recognise that we provide our emergency services

02:24with additional support. It's why we are providing the CFA with more trucks and tankers and resources

02:30as a result of the additional investment that will come from the levy.

02:35And it's important that we do this because rural and regional communities are the most exposed

02:41to the ongoing and more fierce and frequent flyer and fire and flood events and we'll continue

02:47to provide them with support.
