Robins have responded well to training says Gerhard Struber

00:00Bristol City head coach Gerhard Struber has spoken from the Robins pre-season training

00:05camp in Portugal and has made clear that the players there in the squad have responded

00:10well to the training that they've had in a warm weather climate.

00:14Yes, of course, I think the attention is high, the attention is high in every training but

00:22also when we have some meetings so the boys are very interesting for the new style, for

00:29the new principles and also I can see in the training that the execution was on a very

00:37good level.

00:38This is always a tough week from a physical point of view as well and it's been a very

00:42hot week.

00:43How have the players dealt with that?

00:46I would say right now the boys are tired.

00:48So they worked very, very hard but they pushed also each other in a very good direction.

00:55This was also interesting to see how they work together, right spirit, right energy and we

01:02had a big amount of load program what we want to do and the boys I think go the hard street

01:13very well.

01:15And Bristol Rovers player Promise Amochere has made clear that the pre-season encounter that

01:20the gas had against Stockport County in which they were defeated by three goals to two was

01:25a tough test, especially in the warm weather.

01:28Obviously with the weather, with the heat, Stockport obviously a good team, it's always

01:33had to play them no matter the circumstances, pre-season friendly, league game or whatever.

01:38So yeah, it was a tough test and I think the lads obviously done well in this heat as well.

01:44Obviously 1-0 down, bringing it back to 2-2 as well but yeah, the result's obviously not

01:50a major factor.

01:51It's just obviously getting the fitness and getting the lads together and obviously building

01:56that team togetherness and yes, the phase of the play and all that sort of stuff will

02:01come afterwards to be fair.

02:03You weren't on the pitch in the second half or was it so good to see the lads really fight

02:06to try and get a result even in a pre-season fixture?

02:08Yeah, no definitely, definitely.

02:10That's the main thing obviously.

02:12The mentality in the group is a lot better.
