Transcript
00:00We've had a very successful day today at the Forge School Cattlesale.
00:03We added about 750 heads.
00:05There's 130 cows and calves, about 70 pre-tested animals, 350 steers and 250 heifers.
00:12We actually had a really good market today.
00:14The cows and calves were dearer by a couple of hundred dollars per head.
00:18We had a fair bit of confidence there with the rain forecast for tomorrow
00:22and coming on to the verge of spring.
00:25Our steer section, I thought, was also dearer, probably up a good hundred dollars per head.
00:31We had a lot of steers making over five dollars per kilogram.
00:34And when we got into our weiner heifers, they sold really well too.
00:38They were probably a hundred dollars a head dearer than our last sale a month ago.
00:42And I think that's all to do with getting closer to spring, a bit of rain forecasted
00:46and also the fat market has also really lifted over the last three or four weeks.
00:52So it's created a lot of confidence in the market.
00:55So we've had a really good day here today.
