00:00Who else wants to, that was fantastic, thank you.
00:04Who else wants to, look, I see a gentleman right here.
00:07Yep.
00:08Senator, my name is Ned Pillarsdorf.
00:10I'm actually a candidate for Congress across the border in East Kentucky.
00:17Regrettably, when the big, ugly bill passed,
00:20Kentucky Congressman Brett Guthrie and Hal Rogers said the following.
00:25They said Medicaid will be strengthened and preserved by that bill.
00:29Is that true, Congress, Senator Sanders?
00:31No, that is, that particular, thanks for asking.
00:36In my view, and I've been in Congress for a while,
00:43this bill is the worst and most dangerous piece of legislation passed in the modern history of America.
00:51What it does is it makes massive cuts to Medicaid.
01:03So if you think you've got a health care crisis now, it will make it worse.
01:07There are estimates out there, credible estimates from organizations that study this thing,
01:13that some 15 million Americans are going to lose their health insurance.
01:18And that's just not Medicaid.
01:20That's doing away with the credits for the Affordable Care Act as well.
01:23It's going to cut back on nutrition programs for working class and low-income families,
01:29literally taking food out of the mouths of hungry kids,
01:34cut back on education and other programs.
01:38And you know why they are cutting all of these programs?
01:41In order to give $1 trillion in tax breaks to the top 1%.
01:50It is absolutely disgraceful.
01:56It is.
01:57Shame is the right word.
01:59I mean, at a time, as you just heard from that woman,
02:03when working class people are struggling,
02:06you don't take away their lifelines, health care, nutrition,
02:10in order to give tax breaks to billionaires who have never had it so good.
02:16So, and that's just part of what was in the bill.
02:18That is the worst bill.
02:20And in my opinion, any member of Congress who voted for that legislation should be defeated.
02:29And by the way,
02:32I mean, as bad as that bill is for working class states like West Virginia,
02:41it is going to be a real disaster.
02:44We worry not only about people losing their health insurance,
02:47it's a question of whether rural hospitals, community health centers,
02:52will be able to stay open.
02:55So it is a disastrous piece of legislation.
02:59All right.
03:00Who's got a question for me?
03:02Let's go all over the place.
