Burnt-out car discovered by police as hunt continues for gunmen in Sydney

Police in Sydney are continuing to hunt the gunmen responsible for a shooting on Sunday night which killed a man and seriously injured another.

00:00At about 10pm last night here in Rydalmyr in Sydney's West, a burnt out blue Ford Mustang

00:10was discovered by New South Wales Police.

00:13Now, as you can probably see here, this is effectively all that remains of that vehicle.

00:18It's been towed earlier today.

00:20But what police will now determine is whether this blue Ford Mustang that was found burnt

00:26out here in Sydney's West is the same blue Ford Mustang that is believed to have been

00:31used as a getaway car in Sunday's shooting in Glebe in Sydney's inner West.

00:37We know that at about 6.40pm at least one gunman, that's what police are currently operating their

00:44theory under, at least one gunman began shooting at two men, a 39-year-old man by the name of

00:50Gilbert Sheenow and a 31-year-old man, Maradona Yalda, who police now believe has links to

00:57an Assyrian organised crime network known as The Last Hour and that's forming a large part

01:03of the police investigation into this shooting as to what Mr Yalda's criminal links are and

01:09how they may have potentially influenced the attempted or the attempt on his life on Sunday

01:18night.

01:19Now, we know that police believe that it was a targeted attack, let's take a quick listen

01:25to what they are to tell us.

01:26Obviously we'll be looking at the links with the organised crime networks, that'll be the

01:32focus of our investigation and obviously to see what any emojis, any conflicts and things

01:36of that nature.

01:37Now, police say a blue Ford Mustang was seen around the inner western suburbs of Sydney close

01:44to the Herald Hotel where the shooting took place on Sunday between 3 and 7pm.

01:50Now, while police have yet to confirm whether this vehicle found at 10pm last night is the

01:56same blue Ford Mustang, it'll form a large part of their investigation.

02:01Now, as you were saying a little bit earlier, police have certainly confirmed they believe

02:05at least one shooter was involved on Sunday, but we heard from multiple witnesses who've

02:11described multiple assailants fleeing in a car, so these investigations will continue.
