A 19-year-old man has died, and another is in hospital after a stabbing in Sydney's west last night. A major crime scene has been set up at a bus interchange in the centre of Mt Druitt, where the incident occurred.
00:00This is still very much an active crime scene this morning here at the bus interchange at Mount Druitt train station here in Sydney's West.
00:10Police are currently looking for an offender or multiple offenders responsible for that stabbing last night that left a 19-year-old man dead and another 19-year-old man fighting for his life at Westmead Hospital.
00:25What we understand is at about 10pm last night New South Wales Police as well as New South Wales Paramedics were called here to the bus interchange just behind me where you can probably see police vehicles and forensic crews currently on scene at about 10pm following reports of a brawl involving multiple people.
00:43Now upon arriving New South Wales Police and Paramedics discovered those two 19-year-old teenagers suffering stab wounds.
00:51Now one teenager had sustained stab wounds to his chest.
00:56He was worked on by New South Wales Paramedics with the assistance of New South Wales Police but died at the scene.
01:02That other 19-year-old sustained wounds to his arms and he was rushed to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
01:12Now local police have also been joined this morning by the New South Wales Homicide Squad.
01:16They're currently on scene now. They're joined by forensic crews as well and you can even tell from the scene and particularly some of the evidence that New South Wales Police are currently working on collecting that it does appear as though there were multiple people involved in the brawl last night that ultimately police believe led to this stabbing.
01:36Now the investigation is still very much in its early stages although we understand New South Wales Police have established Strike Force Coberta to continue these investigations.
