00:07Oh, hello designers!
00:09That's pretty dope.
00:11Oh no.
00:12What?
00:13I'm doing the same thing.
00:14How is that possible?
00:15You're doing the exact same thing I am.
00:16I find that really hard to believe.
00:18Ugh!
00:19I could hurt her.
00:23Congratulations, Jason.
00:25This is a paparazzi attack waiting to happen.

01:25I'm a runway.
01:26Tempers will flare. Hemlines will fly.
01:40Time for the show designers.
01:48Because fashion isn't always pretty.
01:57Jessica, my sister.
02:02I can't open my eyes.
02:05I feel just like stuck closed.
02:07We only have an hour to get ready, okay?
02:09Gotta get up.
02:10Can you get my coffee?
02:14Hey.
02:15It's a margarita, man.
02:16That was, uh, it was intense.
02:19She just goes home and Brandon's here like,
02:21that was awkward, hey?
02:23Well, being in the bottom two really made me realize
02:25that this is a tough competition.
02:27I can't just, you know, do my little thing,
02:29have some dances, always go for cigarette breaks.
02:32I actually have to work hard.
02:35It kind of makes you more humble
02:36and makes you, like, kick it into high gear,
02:38which can be a really good thing.
02:40Hello, designers.
02:55Hello.
02:57Let's bring out the winning and the losing models
03:00from the last challenge.
03:01Now, remember, this is a competition for the models as well.
03:10The model paired with the winning designer
03:13will get a cover and a feature spread in El Canada magazine.
03:18Jason, you were the winner of last challenge,
03:22and you have worked with Ashley.
03:24Lauren was Margarita's model.
03:27Whichever model you do not choose will be out.
03:34I definitely have to stick with Ashley.
03:36Congratulations.
03:38Sorry.
03:41Bye.
03:42Good luck to everybody.
03:45The rest of you will stay with your models
03:47from the last challenge.
03:48But take heart.
03:49You may not get to choose your model,
03:53but you do get to choose your partners.
03:58Wow.
04:00That's right.
04:01This will be your first team challenge.
04:05I'm immediately thinking,
04:07this is going to be nuts.
04:09I usually work well with others.
04:12I think.
04:14I'll choose a name from the famous bag.
04:18And that person will choose a partner.
04:21Here we go.
04:23Sonny.
04:25I want to work with Baylor.
04:27Baylor, your two are partners.
04:30Good.
04:31Next.
04:32Christy.
04:36Please, please, not me.
04:39I would like to work with Jason.
04:41Jason, your two are partners.
04:45I didn't really think it out.
04:47Maybe picking somebody that has immunity wasn't the best idea.
04:51Hopefully, everything works out tomorrow.
04:54Because if it doesn't, I'm going to f*** it.
04:58Kim.
05:01I think I want to work with Jean-Vievre.
05:05Brandon.
05:07I'd like to work with Addy.
05:09Addy's okay. You two are partners.
05:10Brandon and I are pretty different in terms of personality.
05:14I'm pretty quiet and he's like, blah, blah, look at me, which is fine.
05:20And there lives Jessica and Jeff.
05:23Team J.
05:24And you two are partners.
05:26I feared being paired with Jessica because we seem to be opposites.
05:31Beauty is key for this challenge.
05:34Meet Brian in the L'Oreal Paris beauty room.
05:38And he'll tell you more.
05:40I'll see you on the runway. Ciao.
05:42Bye, Brian.
05:43Designers, you all know Eddie and Eric.
05:54I'd like to introduce to you Anit Guignard, communications director for L'Oreal Paris.
06:01Hello, designers.
06:03Today, we are going to ask you to create outfits to complement the color story for spring 2009.
06:10L'Oreal is now a client, so we went over the colors and try to get inspired from that.
06:16Here we have our two looks, our daytime, our evening.
06:19It's all about a woman who creates her own fantasy.
06:22The idea for a day look is a playful expression.
06:26Colors are green, orange, pink.
06:30Focus on the lips, hypergloss.
06:33We just put one pop of color on the eyes to have one kind of magic.
06:37The hair always looks shiny and beautifully colored.
06:42For evening, the hair is going to be couture-inspired look.
06:48Sleek away from the face and swept across the forehead.
06:52We're going to have an introduction to hair ornaments and accessories.
06:57For night, all the intensity will be on the eyes.
07:01Beige to brown.
07:02And the lips are very, very shy.
07:06We got the colors, we got the looks.
07:09And we have to design two garments.
07:12A chic daytime outfit and a dramatic evening outfit.
07:17One more thing, designers.
07:19The winning team's outfits will be featured in a nationwide promotional campaign at Shoppers Drug Mart.
07:25Wow.
07:28The winner of this challenge gets to have their outfits shown in a national campaign for L'Oreal.
07:33A campaign like the L'Oreal one could make or break our careers, you know?
07:38You will have 30 minutes to sketch, at which time you will also decide who is designing the day wear outfit and who will do the evening wear look.
07:47Let's go!
07:49Good luck, designers.
07:57Okay, I'll do the evening. You wanted your day?
07:59Okay.
08:01I'm doing evening because I love doing evening and luckily he's at daytime so that sort of avoided the confrontation.
08:09We have the palette.
08:10Baylor's strong at sewing and he's fast, but Sunny is totally going to step up the game.
08:16Because I want to win this time.
08:20So yeah, I'm going to do the day.
08:22I'm thinking we could use like tons and tons of davericks for the evening, do something long because the daytime won't be long.
08:26Totally.
08:27I like, you know, longer, a bit more fancy. She's a little bit more on the punky side.
08:31Yeah, high fives for like team go.
08:33What would you like to do?
08:34I think I'll do the daytime.
08:36Daytime, good, good, good, good, because I love evening wear.
08:38I think Addy is a great balance for me because I'm all over the place.
08:43I have a hard time sitting down and concentrating on my garments.
08:46Let's see, let's look at his colors here.
08:48He doesn't like really plan things, he just kind of like whips it up.
08:52So that can be like a strength and a weakness.
08:55What about some type of top with some ruffles or like a big bow?
08:58I love bows.
08:59I love bows too.
09:00Really?
09:01He's like, I really like bows.
09:02I was like, I love bows.
09:03I was like, oh my God.
09:04Hold on, let me see.
09:06No, not like that.
09:07Don't be too hippy.
09:08We're just different designers and different individuals.
09:10Like she said, her next collection was going to be, um, what did she say?
09:15Uh, pink elephant popcorn and candy wrappers.
09:20You're Mr. Evening Wear?
09:22Yeah.
09:23That's what you do?
09:24Evening Wear and Bridal, and Bridal just gives me such a background on how to construct.
09:28For sure.
09:29I mean, Jeff is very quiet and reserved to himself and I'm, I don't know, have you noticed?
09:33Crazy and loud and always joking, lots of hand motions all the time.
09:37So I think he was just like, oh my God, what am I going to do with this girl, you know?
09:40I'll do day.
09:41Cool.
09:42You do night.
09:43Flawless.
09:44Let's do this.
09:45Pound on that.
09:51Here we are at Rockland Textiles.
09:53Very important to remember the brand.
09:55L'Oreal Spring 2009.
09:57Go!
09:58Load up this.
09:59With 45 minutes and $250 to get fabric and notions for two garments.
10:08Yeah.
10:09That's kind of cool.
10:12I'm taking it to the limit.
10:14A new dress with a green overlay.
10:17Who can you match with that one?
10:19Because we're working as a team.
10:20We are using same materials.
10:22I'm using pink tulle.
10:24Oh, that's nice.
10:25Sunny is using green.
10:26Baylor and Sunny are very strong.
10:29So I'm very, very worried to see what they're going to bring to the table.
10:33It would be nice if this was the bow then.
10:35No, no.
10:36It's the same fabric as his shirt.
10:38Shopping with Jason was stressful because he was really being kind of negative.
10:43$50 for wool is way, way expensive.
10:46Why do I get cheap stuff and you get all this expensive fabric to do your big dress?
10:50Working with a partner, you're wasting time conversing, trying to find colors and textures
10:54and price points that go together.
10:56It was tough.
10:57He's demanding that we use it.
10:58And I'm like, dude, we've learned so much less.
11:00Then make him sew it.
11:03I really don't think we should use this at all.
11:05Just stop talking like that.
11:11I'm not crazy about that color.
11:12Jeff's weaknesses are that he likes to do things a certain way and he's very structured.
11:16I'm thinking darker browns, maybe throwing some black.
11:19The whole concept of a team challenge was a little frightening.
11:22I'm usually the one with the most experience and the most knowledge
11:24and I'm always the one to call the shots.
11:26Where'd it go?
11:27So I am used to working by myself.
11:29Jeff!
11:32Where'd it go?
11:36Do you like this one, Jean-Bio?
11:37No, I don't want to use that.
11:39I don't see any same tones in there.
11:40Really?
11:41No.
11:42But that's the exact color of lipstick.
11:44Jean-Bio and I are extremely strong personalities
11:46and have a very specific sense of what we like and don't like.
11:48I think it does go.
11:50I just don't think it does go at all.
11:52So I got vetoed on my fabric.
11:54Because she's my partner, I'm giving her some constructive criticism.
11:57My pieces are beautifully designed and I spend insane attention to detail.
12:01Yeah, I'm here to win.
12:03Two minutes, designers.
12:08Cut her right here, please.
12:10Move!
12:11Duck!
12:12Go!
12:13Whoa!
12:14Easy!
12:15Don't step on her and a half, please.
12:16Time's up!
12:17Time to head back to the workroom.
12:31Ugh!
12:32Dolly!
12:33Genevieve and I have different skills, but we have a similar aesthetic.
12:36Let me see my fabric.
12:38Kim's got a good eye.
12:39I think her color choices are interesting.
12:42It's not even my personal taste.
12:44It's gorgeous.
12:45See?
12:46Are you happy to do this one?
12:47Yeah, thank you for saying something.
12:48I was just like, I think that's such a much more beautiful soft.
12:51I do too.
12:52I don't know if you want to, but we could gather some of the fabric so we'd give it back detail.
12:56That wasn't the easiest thing coming up with a concept together.
12:58We'd just like stretch it on her.
13:00I'm just thinking with a high-waisted pant.
13:02It's either going to be...
13:03I think it'd be cool with it.
13:04That's fine.
13:05It's your piece.
13:06I'll do the pants first and then we'll think about it.
13:07How about that?
13:08Let's knock out the pants.
13:09I think that it's really important to work as a team and share ideas and work through stuff.
13:13But at the same time, if you've got a feeling in your gut that you need to change it, you should change it.
13:18I would like to do something a bit trickier so it's more sophisticated.
13:23Are you feeling me on that?
13:26Designers, you're all working very hard, I see.
13:29Yeah.
13:30Okay, Jason and Christy, what's cooking?
13:34So we're going to do like a nice sailor style pant.
13:38And then we're going to do a halter.
13:40So the dress is going to be nice and clean in the front.
13:43A nice, like, kind of window cutout.
13:46I must admit that I'm challenged to understand where the drama comes in this and where the sophistication comes in this.
13:54That's what I've been trying to say.
13:55I'm challenged to say that I don't see this meeting L'Oreal's concept, in my personal opinion, whatsoever.
14:01That's totally what I've been saying.
14:04Um, what, yeah, I think that, I think that that serves as a bit of a kind of a smack in the face to Jason.
14:10Yeah, really.
14:11So I think what you need to, no, wait a minute.
14:13What you need to do is bring it together.
14:16But you know what?
14:17So there's a few raised moments.
14:18That's what happens in the design rooms all over the world.
14:21Sort it out.
14:23I trust my own feelings.
14:26It's not about you.
14:27And I'm sorry if it came out that way, but it's not my intention.
14:30Yeah, that was like kicking me the nuts right there, buddy.
14:36That was like kicking me the nuts right there, buddy.
14:38Christy beat me up.
14:39But when it comes down to it, we're all here for ourselves and for one reason, right?
14:42Compared to what everybody else is doing, dude, we're doing nothing.
14:46It's got to be edgy.
14:48I was not feeling it.
14:49I have to trust my feelings.
14:51And I really feel like I'm on the chopping block and I really have to step up.
14:54Christy can definitely be energy draining.
14:56She's like in her own world, so I didn't even acknowledge it.
14:59Um, cause yeah, it is draining for sure.
15:10Take a look at this.
15:12Sweet.
15:13Jeff and I are in a team, J-squared.
15:15Awesome.
15:16The challenge is to create an outfit to correspond with L'Oreal Paris' Spring 09 collection.
15:24It's create your own fantasy and carry this one woman from her day look to her evening look.
15:30I just don't want a boob popping out.
15:32Don't want a tatter city happening?
15:34No.
15:35A what?
15:36Tatter city.
15:37I don't know what that means.
15:38Well, boobs.
15:39Like a slang word for boob is tatters.
15:42She's a white suburban girl with homie, homie, homie.
15:45And I just don't.
15:46It's like, what are you doing?
15:48What are you doing?
15:49Work.
15:50Work.
15:51Work.
15:52Work.
15:53Work.
15:54I will make him gangster by the end of this.
15:56Totally sounds awesome.
15:59You have immunity.
16:00No.
16:01No.
16:02But that's not how I'm going to do this.
16:03Maybe the pants have to change.
16:04Maybe they're like a future sailor.
16:06No.
16:07We're not doing any future space sailors.
16:08What?
16:09I'm just feeling the heat.
16:10I know, dude.
16:12I like this better already but with the length of the short well I shortened it
16:16and then I added a little cuff what about that like a little kimono style
16:22sleeve I don't really like that I just don't like the flare I love the flare
16:27though that flare is me though like I think I feel like that little sleeve is
16:31over okay then we'll keep the sleeve that's fine it's all right I still feel
16:37like this is not enough design a little bit down like don't put too much Brandon
16:46was a cockiest and really smart ass but after being in the bottom last challenge
16:50like he's kind of like scared are you gonna put this here too are you putting
16:54something else the fabric's gonna be there okay Brandon's allowed to have smoke
16:57breaks when he finishes the task at hand but if he can't focus because he needs to
17:02smoke so bad I just tell him go smoke can you go first let's smoke okay yeah
17:09don't torture yourself I see a change already I need to go think through my
17:14next steps okay okay designers this is your last chance to have a chat with me
17:21so Jeff are you feeling good about it yeah my dress is going to be this is roost
17:28and this is kind of draped all to one I'm cutting the whole thing in strips
17:31yards and yards and yards and yards and yards of bias so that's where your
17:35emphasis is going to be right now because I noticed that you're spending a lot of
17:38time I'm fitting your garment I got so skewered last challenge and I was just
17:44like that came this I yeah you're doing the most difficult work right now hopefully
17:49not this is gonna be lengthy I'm just gonna crank it good answer Jessica give
17:55yourself time to press oh yeah for sure this has to be done really beautifully
18:00every detail counts as a team you feel like you've got a cohesive element
18:05happening yeah for sure change a squared you gotta recognize that's good
18:13Baylor by and draping the top I don't need much detail because on top of this I'm
18:19going to add all the volume with the tool I'm not sure about the tool mm-hmm in the
18:25sophisticated day wear I want to add a little bit more glamour so you're
18:29adding glamour to the sophisticated ever I like that sunny hi right now it's very
18:36plain the palette there's also green so I wanted to sort of fight the brush the
18:42green all over the neutral tone fantasy yes I want to bring a little magic to this
18:47dress but sunny chose Baylor I was like oh my god this is gonna be really really
18:53good okay designers tools down at one o'clock work hard you've got
18:58sophistication and fantasy on the runway tomorrow and somebody's going home
19:06this is going to be a little bit of a twist for dinner now so why don't we finish this I'll do it
19:11not too much I'm going to make a signal in the background or the car I'm going to
19:15get to the title of my arbor a little bit so he can't definitely show us it's
19:17like this is that the character that I'm going to be the extra battle in the
19:18more working time you're going to be the best part of it that's why I'm going to be
19:19jason's very he's cocky he knows he's a talented designer and he doesn't think
19:21Kristi is I don't even know what she's designing some ugly ugly short dealio my shorts are
19:24short dealio my shorts are something's going on here and i'm not liking it listen this is what
19:32we're gonna do i'll finish this dude nothing's gonna happen if they don't fit her i never really
19:36got to do what i wanted to do and i am pissed i wish i'd never did this project with jason i
19:45really feel like the whole thing is his whole idea and these shorts are just terrible and i don't
19:51even have a top i feel like i could have done something so much better and it's what i really
19:55wanted to do when i got stuck with this project that i totally didn't want to do that's not even
20:00me and i know that okay christie's having another one of her freakouts or whatever right but
20:05i'm a human being so i mean other people may not be a crier and be not like that but for me here like
20:14i've just never been given such an opportunity so it's a lot it's a lot for me so i'm just trying
20:21to do my best christie is in danger of this challenge she just does not work well under stress
20:27next on project runway canada a lot of people are struggling to crank something up
20:40have we got the talk done no i can't believe i'm doing this i'm having confidence issues here
20:47are there people that need showers still
20:55i don't have a top and i don't have a zipper you're a happy person with shorts and white
21:08nothing like brian just made us change our idea completely as soon as we got home i don't think
21:16he made you change your idea he probably suggested it unfortunately no um because of that
21:22i am behind start processing figure it out
21:27i think we need to go into this feeling strong and confident about it you know i'm feeling better
21:35now that i've had some sleep good shorts they need buttons and they need to be pressed and they need the cuff
21:43so today's elimination day and uh i still got a bunch left to do but thankfully i am not alone a lot of people are struggling to crank something up
22:08at this point brandon's outfit is not as far as he should be he didn't start until like really really late so i kind of was like starting to panic a little bit
22:21kim's still lagging behind a bit she doesn't seem to be progressing she's still doing the same small little vest she had been doing all day yesterday
22:28good morning designers
22:31good morning brian you've worked hard
22:35yes you're going to have two hours you're going to take your model and go down to see eddie and eric and finish your look that is going to represent spring 2009 for l'oreal paris
22:50your look that is going to represent spring 2009 for l'oreal paris i'm sending the models in if you please ladies
22:57good morning
23:00sorry it's kind of snug it will be a little snug idea
23:05how's it feel it looks a little tighter here
23:09um
23:11um
23:12um
23:13basically just putting the skirt on
23:15and then i just sew the skirt on
23:16is there strips going on the bottom too
23:18yeah
23:19yeah
23:20well so the whole plan is that the bottom has got these strips on it too
23:22yeah
23:23i suggest you go downstairs and you sew those strips together and do that right
23:27fast fast fast
23:28no
23:32i didn't say no
23:36oh okay
23:37sometimes it's yes
23:39we got the top done
23:40no
23:42i'm giving myself an hour for this and an hour for the top
23:45i was just so tired last night and my sewing skills are just really
23:50they're really starting to break down right now
23:53i'm having confidence issues here
23:56you know because everyone here is really really good
23:59i want you to take that garment and go sew because right now you're emotional and this is just going to make you nervous
24:04so go do something that does nothing but just let you relax
24:08be strong walk with conviction and rise like the phoenix
24:19huh
24:20you told me to rise like the phoenix
24:34dude rise like a phoenix christy
24:36doing it i'm doing it
24:38doing it i'm doing it
24:41how does everybody feel for time
24:43sh** paste
24:45i would think um i've got a very good chance of winning but working with kim my chances maybe aren't as good now because we're being judged as a partnership
24:55it's just more irritating than anything
24:57i started quickly to realize that there was no way i was actually going to be able to sew all those strips down
25:06i definitely bit off more than i could chew
25:08so i went and grabbed glue
25:11and grabbed glue to glue my dress together
25:15which is appalling
25:17and the bloody glue gets everywhere
25:20bloody glue all of a sudden
25:21yeah that was just nasty
25:23that was just feral
25:24i've never done anything like that before
25:31hello i'm good how are you
25:33i have a little chic vest
25:35a little peplum in the back
25:37this is going to become a big volumous skirt
25:40just lots of movement to kind of emulate the hair that you guys talked about
25:44our inspiration for this challenge was l'oreal spring 2009 colors
25:48sexy and glamorous and sophisticated and fun and super fashionable
25:52i love it
25:54it's gorgeous
25:56amazing
26:02i was thinking these would be really cute in the hair
26:04to bring some green into it
26:06there was this tree with these little green pod things on it
26:10they were the exact green of the l'oreal color swatches we were supposed to use
26:13oh that's gorgeous
26:23ooh ooh
26:24you said eau couture right
26:25so
26:26perfect perfect
26:27i love it
26:28that's the bottom
26:29wow
26:30we will do smoky eye
26:31very light smoky eye
26:32and just one touch of green
26:34we will put something on the legs to have like shiny
26:37beautiful legs
26:38thank you
26:40okay designers you have 15 minutes
26:44your model must be in the dress
26:46and you must be ready to go to the runway
26:48they want double-sided tape
26:50i'm like going crazy
26:52trying to put the sash thing on my garment to save it from hell
26:56and i was trying to trim off the axis of the bottom dress because i didn't have time to hem it
27:01i'm extremely worried
27:03oh it doesn't even fit
27:05i can't do it
27:07i'm just so afraid it's going to show the muslin underneath
27:13every time she moved you could see the muslin
27:17just when you think you're going as low as you can go
27:19there's always another notch below that
27:21i was pinning my dress together
27:23one minute till tools down
27:27i can't believe i'll do this
27:35next on project runway canada
27:49why are you doing this
27:51the rest of the designers need to watch out
27:52i want to stop to it pull yourself together
27:56hello again designers
28:10usually our friends at l'oreal paris take their beauty cues from you
28:14but this time you took your fashion direction from them
28:18this challenge was all about beauty
28:21let's meet today's judges
28:23say hello to sean hewson creative director for bustle clothing
28:28el canada's editor-in-chief rita silvan
28:31and today two guest judges fashion designer andy tayan
28:36and anique gagnon communications director for l'oreal paris
28:50this challenge comes with an outstanding prize
28:55the winning pair will see their creation in a national promotional campaign for l'oreal paris
29:02the models paired with the winning team will be featured in this campaign
29:08this opportunity is the launching pad that most designers kill for
29:14so let's start the show
29:25when i saw my model walking down the runway i wasn't too satisfied with myself
29:29i don't give myself enough time for finishing details
29:33it looked okay but there's so many things i could see that i needed to do
29:37seeing stephanie on the runway was just like whoa the dress actually turned out it looked great
29:45it was pretty plain but honestly i think it just looked great and it made a good impression i'm sure
29:52i'm so relieved and i'm so confident
30:17i'm so relieved and i'm so confident
30:21she looked like she had two dresses on one which was the one underneath the strapless mini
30:28and another transparent one that was on top and it worked out together as one
30:34i thought the whole thing was really pretty and once she had the glasses on and she popped them off i thought it looked really sophisticated really sharp
30:49i really liked the whole look together
30:56i really liked the whole look together
31:00i really liked the whole look together
31:07i am holding my breath while kathy walks down the runway
31:12i'm just really hoping at that point there's not a lot of muscle that's going to show
31:15i did something that was going to take some time that not everybody can do and hopefully they're going to appreciate that
31:22what i thought when i saw my outfit going by is that it looked really bad and it didn't look anything like the original idea that i had
31:29i was really upset
31:36i was really happy i really liked how it looked
31:39when she could pose and turn to like a three-quarter you could catch a glimpse of the bow at the back and plus the train and it ruffled all the way down
31:46i was happy i liked it
31:49i was happy i liked it
32:04i was happy i liked it
32:08i loved the dress
32:23i think that the hair for the l'oreal challenge totally matched our garments and we also designed our garments around the hair and makeup so i feel like that was all very cohesive
32:37as i'm watching my piece come down the runway i am over the moon again i think it's fantastic it's moving beautifully
32:44it's it looks like it's alive the colors are gorgeous it's reflecting off the light i was really really pleased with it
32:52clearly some of you have worked very hard on this challenge
33:10but one designer will be out
33:14if i say your name please step forward
33:17sunny and bala
33:21jessica and jeff
33:24christy and jason
33:29you have the highest and the lowest scores
33:36the rest of you may leave the runway
33:43thank you
33:45let's bring out your models
33:50christy and jason
33:51i think um between the two pieces we try to use different fabrics and pull in the l'oreal colors
33:57um and i'm really happy with how this turned out i really think the colors work well together and separately
34:03i'm not so sure that i would describe those two uh outfits as cohesive
34:08jason
34:09i think it's a fantastic dress you've done well with the construction the color the fabric everything
34:13it's fun it's it's feminine it's got that red carpet razzle dazzle feel to it
34:20christy i like the idea of highways short that that is fine just the top that is i don't understand where's i'm going with that
34:27i think i can see the idea you were going for but it just didn't quite come together for you i think
34:33i know
34:34so if you know then why are you doing this
34:37i listened to too many other people talking to me and i didn't listen to my heart
34:41what did your heart tell you
34:42my heart told me to do something a lot more flirty
34:46my heart told me to um do a pencil skirt instead of a pant
34:52why didn't you do it
34:53um my partner and i talked about it we discussed it we thought that the shorts would be more edgy
34:58because nobody was doing shorts
35:00is it jason's fault
35:01no it's not jason's fault
35:03it's my fault for not listening to my spirit
35:07and i take responsibility for that
35:09it's the second time you've said this
35:11i know i know that i realized that
35:13when is it gonna stop
35:14it's right here man
35:17sunny and bailiff tell us about your outfits
35:21we kept it clean and pure and put a lot of fantasy in our outfits because that was the direction that we were asked to emphasize
35:31if they would be together you could find common elements in between
35:37baylor i like the peach tool
35:40the first word that comes to mind is femininity and i think you embrace that
35:44this is teamwork i love the idea of you guys choosing the same fabric you express yourself very well
35:50baylor your day creation is simple yet i can see any women wearing it
35:56sunny the rest of the designers need to watch out because this guy has some serious construction skills that is once again unbelievable great job
36:07i think it's whimsical and playful i love the light green color it's very spring like
36:14to me the only thing about this dress is the l'oreal women would be a bit shy to wear it so short
36:20it might be a bit too sexy for l'oreal but it's not too sexy for me
36:27yeah
36:28jeff and jessica
36:29we decided to treat it as if it would be an editorial ad so we kept the focus on the upper part of the body so that's what you would see in a beauty shot
36:36we put a lot of thought in it's right
36:38jessica i think your color choice was was a good one for the campaign
36:42the dress design itself however is conventional and when i think of the l'oreal pairs brand i think of a brand that is classically feminine not necessarily conventional
36:53it does lack a bit of oomph and sophistication but the color is definitely in line with the collection
37:00uh jeff your dress has a glamour twist to it but to me not finished
37:07you can see the lining coming through you can see it very clearly
37:13it's muslin i had nothing left to put it on put anything underneath so yeah
37:20okay we could see that on the runway
37:23i know
37:24this is not the first time you have said that you've run out of time or fabric i've heard that before
37:29i'm going to put the stop to it really you have to pull yourself together
37:34so thank you designers you may leave the runway
37:42okay judges i find it very difficult because sometimes you find a weak designer for day and a strong designer for evening
37:49or vice versa let's hammer it out and see if we can come up with a winning pair
37:56let's start with sunny and baylor
37:59i don't think baylor is as strong a designer as sunny is
38:02i think that definitely sunny's was clearly the stronger outfit between the two
38:07but i would think that's the strongest team
38:10for me to shoot these two outfits together works very well
38:13these are two outfits that match the beauty looks
38:15they are the ones who did it the best i find
38:17yeah
38:21jeff and jessica
38:23least cohesive i would say in terms of seeing them as a photograph
38:26you think they were the least cohesive
38:28i think there's a contender for that crown
38:30wow
38:31okay so we'll get to that later
38:33for jessica the pink was was fine but the brown of jeff was just too much it's not refreshing
38:39jeff's dress wasn't well executed not not at all
38:42we've seen those silhouettes a million times executed in fact much better
38:47even i saw that the finish was not totally right
38:50it was quite obvious
38:52jason and christy let's talk about them
38:56it's not only about the campaign it's about a design competition and i find that their skills have to come out and clearly christy had a problem to express those skills
39:07jason has a responsibility to make sure the team is successful as a team and sometimes designers have to overpower their teammates if they're weak
39:14yeah christy just seems to be so confused and floundering in every challenge we've had so far and it's really a problem because i don't think i can take it
39:25the question is do we give christy one more chance or not
39:32we have our decision let's bring them back in
39:40sometimes in fashion you just don't measure up
39:46two of you will be named the winners of this challenge
39:53and one of you will be out
40:05sometimes in fashion you hit the mark
40:09and sometimes you just don't measure up
40:13most of the team suffered from one strong designer and one weak designer
40:20but we do have a winning pair
40:23the winners are
40:28sunny and baylor
40:30thank you
