00:00Designers, your next challenge is to create a Bratz-inspired outfit.
00:04Go designers!
00:07But Megan is here that you want to leave.
00:09Megan shouldn't be here.
00:10She's taking this opportunity away from people that deserve it.
00:15I just wouldn't want to show anything I'm not proud of.
00:18You hit the point and I'm proud of you.
00:21Steven.
00:22This is Dukes of Hazzard on acid.
00:24It's not even sexy.
00:25And it's not edgy.
00:26Sophia, you just don't measure up.
00:30The winner of Project Runway Canada will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine,
00:36a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L'Oreal Paris,
00:40a retail mentorship with winners,
00:42and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
00:48Welcome to Project Runway Canada, the search for the hottest new fashion designer.
01:0012 designers will compete.
01:03Three will make it to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
01:15But only one will rule the runway and win everything they need to start their own fashion line.
01:21Tempers will flare.
01:30Hemlines will fly.
01:40And remember, fashion isn't always pretty.
01:42Hello, designers.
02:05Hello.
02:05Are you ready for your next challenge?
02:09Yes.
02:10To truly be in fashion, you have to be ahead of the pack.
02:15You have to understand what people want next season.
02:18This challenge will test how well you can see in fashion's future.
02:23Now let's bring out the winning and losing model from last challenge.
02:28Remember, this is a competition for your models as well.
02:35The model, paired with the winning designer, at the end of this series,
02:39will get the cover and a spread in Elle Canada magazine.
02:44Channette, you won the last challenge, so the choice is yours.
02:50If you want to continue to work with Jacqueline, Chandel will be out.
02:56What do you want to do?
02:58I'll continue to work with Jacqueline.
03:01Congratulations.
03:04You are still in.
03:06I'm sorry.
03:07That means you're out.
03:10Good luck.
03:16Okay, designers.
03:18You will all stay with your models from last challenge.
03:20You will get further instructions from Brian on your new challenge.
03:24I will see you on the runway.
03:26Good luck.
03:27Ciao.
03:28Bye.
03:29Bye.
03:34Good morning, designers.
03:36Good morning.
03:37Morning.
03:37I'm sure that you've all shopped at a winner's store.
03:40This will be the site of the next challenge.
03:43Are you ready?
03:44This challenge is your first team challenge.
03:48That's just a whole other challenge on its own working with other people.
03:53This is when people start getting nasty and that's when people start to see where they can find your weakness.
04:01I'm going to draw three names.
04:02I'm going to draw three names.
04:03Those will be the team leaders.
04:05Each team leader will pick two other team members.
04:09First team leader is Michael.
04:10I have a lot of experience working on teams, whether it's designing or other jobs that I've had.
04:18Next team leader is Marie-Jeanvier.
04:19Next team leader is Marie-Jeanvier.
04:20I can be a leader, no problem with this.
04:24Next.
04:25Megan.
04:26For me to be a team leader is kind of interesting because I think some people think that I might not be capable.
04:33And Michael, your first team member is?
04:35I'm going to pick Kendra first.
04:37Marie-Jeanvier.
04:38Badeau.
04:39And Megan, your first team member is?
04:42I was really nervous because, honestly, I did not want to be working with Megan.
04:50Lu-Chan.
04:51It was like a whole building collapsed on me.
04:54Like the two of us, it's just not going to work.
04:58She canceled.
04:59And Michael, your second team member is?
05:01I'm going to pick Steven.
05:02Beautiful.
05:03And Marie-Jeanvier?
05:04Kylie.
05:05And Megan, your second team member is?
05:08Charlotte.
05:09I'm not quite sure why Megan chose me and Lucian as our teammates.
05:14I'm going to assume she's looking for people with his really strong sewing abilities since she seems like the slowest person.
05:21Good.
05:22Great team.
05:23Let's go shopping at Winners.
05:30Welcome to Winners on Bloor.
05:32And welcome Shannon Johnson, manager of public relations for Winners.
05:36Good morning, designers.
05:37Good morning.
05:38Welcome to Winners.
05:40The runways around the world inspire the fashions that we bring into our stores.
05:43And now we want to inspire what's going on to your runway.
05:46What your challenge will be today is to create a mini collection of three outfits as a team.
05:50Each of you will pick one item.
05:52This one item of clothing will be the basis of your design to show your trends for spring 2008.
05:58The purpose of this challenge is to work in a group of three and develop a line for spring 2008.
06:13I like the color.
06:15Lucian.
06:16Yes.
06:17So we have to pick out three pieces and then create a line around that piece.
06:26This is a cute jacket.
06:27I wish I could buy it right now.
06:28This is so comfy.
06:30Too plain.
06:31Too plain?
06:32Yeah.
06:33Too plain and too denim.
06:34Too casual.
06:35We found two really great jackets and then a really cool vest that sort of have this
06:40like romantic military theme.
06:42I like those pants, so.
06:43I like this one.
06:44Me too.
06:45Oh, it's cute.
06:46It's cute.
06:47And I love the color.
06:48I know the forecast for next season and I know exactly where it's going and I know the
06:52color palette.
06:53Look at that.
06:54Look what the back does.
06:55And you know, that goes with the idea of the vest that I took.
06:58I like the back on this one.
06:59It's really cute.
07:00Fortunately, I found a lot of pieces.
07:02All three pieces that we ended up using, I chose.
07:05This is it.
07:06We got it.
07:07Yay.
07:08What's our color scheme?
07:09I know, but we could switch the pink to the purple.
07:12The team dynamic becomes a little bit of a battle and a little bit tedious.
07:16I love the jeans.
07:17I think this is cool because you can layer it with a cool chiffon thing over top.
07:22I'm not inspired too much by any of them.
07:25This is different to me because we're all being acknowledged for the work.
07:29I feel like we've gotten lost.
07:32Yeah.
07:33But I mean, like, yeah, something really light.
07:35I like that.
07:36Marie Javier's vision, it's kind of like how she dresses.
07:40It's basically the artistic girl who loves fashion and reminds me of Marie.
07:45Like a blouse, a ruffle blouse.
07:47What do you think is...
07:48Not a ruffle blouse.
07:49Like some sort of a blouse.
07:51What are you thinking?
07:52You're the designer.
07:53Yeah.
07:54In my stores, I was the owner, boss, manager, everything.
07:58So I'm not really used to taking orders.
08:01I like these too.
08:02I'm not sure about those.
08:03So let's, like, keep going.
08:05If you do short sleeve, mine's gonna have to be long sleeve.
08:14What about doing yours long sleeve?
08:15A little vest.
08:16What do you think?
08:17Yeah.
08:18We're doing a mini collection.
08:19It's for somebody who's, like, a little bit romantic and this artsy girl who loves fashion and who likes to read and write poems.
08:24Hi, you guys.
08:25I'm just gonna pull up a chair.
08:26We'll go with something like that and a mint green, but we'll go for red as well and light gray.
08:31A little bit like this.
08:32Woo!
08:33And that.
08:34And that.
08:35And that.
08:36And that.
08:37That's great.
08:38i don't know if I should do flat pockets or pockets with just a zipper running through them.
08:39We're going for a really edgy, dark, architectural look.
08:41Hi, everybody.
08:46Hello.
08:47What's your theme?
08:52Like, who is it?
08:57What is it?
09:07That urban fashionista, she wears a lot of black.
09:12She feels comfortable in that, but she lightens it up with colors.
09:15We're hoping to find a fuchsia chiffon, something really bright and light.
09:19So she's a pretty big influence on what you're doing.
09:21Yeah.
09:22Okay.
09:22I don't like the idea of putting a Henley over a twist.
09:25I don't want this to look too romantic-looking.
09:28It can be an easy take that doesn't have to be boring.
09:30I think that it has a feel of an easy...
09:32You've done your part.
09:34Tell me what it is.
09:35I don't think I could work with Lucienne,
09:39and I probably wouldn't want to work with Charnette either,
09:42especially under Megan's leadership.
09:44I don't want... I think that we need to keep it clean.
09:48This is what I'm going to say to you.
09:50I'm keeping it clean, but I need details.
09:53I agree that we need to have details, but I don't think...
09:56I don't want to do a lot of, like...
09:57No, no, no, but we're not.
09:59No, I'm talking... To cut it and shape it, that's cool,
10:02but I don't want to... I think we should stay away from, like, trends and stuff.
10:04But we already decided that.
10:06I know. I just wasn't clear on what you were saying.
10:09Because it's a group challenge, I think we all have to compromise our style.
10:14I wish it wasn't that way.
10:15You two designers are very creative.
10:18You've got somebody here that's, like, ultra simple.
10:21This has to meld together.
10:22I'm still trying to figure out the best way to work with these two.
10:30Next, on Project Runway Canada.
10:32Michael, was that fabric ordered now or after?
10:35This is not the way I want to go down.
10:38We're running out of time.
10:39I know.
10:40F***, man.
10:41This is ridiculous.
10:42The purpose of this challenge is to create a collection using pieces from winners.
10:59Each of us picked an item that inspired us and created a three-piece collection that would forecast spring 2008.
11:05Okay, you're going to work in teams.
11:06You've got 30 minutes and you've got $100 each.
11:09Let's go.
11:10For the coats?
11:15Yeah.
11:16Look how light it is.
11:17There was no strategy, really.
11:18Maybe we should have conceptualized a bit more and come up with a stronger idea.
11:22Should we go white?
11:23Do the whole collection white and black?
11:25What do we do with the trench?
11:26Some people aren't used to taking orders from other people.
11:29Some people aren't used to giving orders.
11:31A lot of people are really stressed.
11:34Okay, so trench.
11:35Right?
11:36Mm-hmm.
11:37How much do I need of this?
11:39Triceties.
11:39Okay, we'll get four meters of that, please.
11:43Four meters?
11:44Is that just satin?
11:45And is this for the trench?
11:47Yeah.
11:47Is that not good?
11:49This, what, just goes like that?
11:51Yeah.
11:51Grab a silk.
11:52It'll have a loft to it.
11:53And it will be a totally lighter kind of area, which I thought you were going for.
11:57Steven and I switched to fabric because of the weight and the way it draped.
12:00Okay, we'll take it.
12:01We'll take it.
12:02Oh my God.
12:03We'll see when Kendra gets that.
12:07It's not going to fall properly.
12:09This is like paper.
12:10You don't like it.
12:10I was a little bit frustrated that the decision was made without me.
12:14It threw me for a loop because I was just getting that sense of, like, sabotage.
12:18Maybe I'm paranoid.
12:21Let's go.
12:21Okay.
12:22Run.
12:23Kendra.
12:23The vision is 2008.
12:29It's the new colors that are going to be coming.
12:31Gray, red, mint, and yellow.
12:33I can make button-up shirt.
12:34Yeah, we can do shirt instead.
12:36Did you find the red?
12:37Is it the red?
12:37Yeah, the color is good.
12:41You just have to put words into people's mouth sometimes.
12:46I think we should go with silk for the dress.
12:49Yeah, I think silk too.
12:50So that's basically what I'm doing.
12:51Here is Dusty Rose.
12:52Come and see.
12:53Let me see.
12:54Pick the one that you think is best.
12:57She hates pastel, so I had to convince her that pink is a good color.
13:01Too pink.
13:02Too pink.
13:02Too pink.
13:03How about this one?
13:04That was pretty.
13:05She didn't like this sequins material, so I kind of convinced her that it's good.
13:09This is beautiful, Megan.
13:10This is the only thing that we could find that has sparkle.
13:12All right.
13:13I'm trusting you on that, but...
13:17D-rings, gliders, twill tape.
13:20Can you take it upstairs to the girls, please?
13:22What is it?
13:2430 seconds.
13:27Okay.
13:28Everybody's out.
13:29Time's up.
13:30Let's go to the till.
13:31No.
13:32Did you guys get lining at all?
13:33No, we didn't, because the only thing we were lining was the dress, right?
13:37We don't have time to line everything, Stephen.
13:40Your relatives, somebody else got us more of this.
13:43We're going to have time.
13:45Okay, no more shopping.
13:47Once your money, you've got access left over, then it's done, okay?
13:50You guys are way on earth.
13:52Really?
13:53Really.
13:54Can we get...
13:55Yeah.
13:55Can you get us another two meters of this?
14:00I didn't feel comfortable with it at all.
14:05She went to the gym and it's done.
14:07We're out of time.
14:09So we forgot our clothes.
14:12She's bringing it down.
14:13I don't want to get into your clothes.
14:24Michael, was that fabric ordered now or after?
14:29Oh, this is not the way I want to go down.
14:33She went up to grab it for us before the time was out when we were over here.
14:36You forgot it upstairs?
14:37You never had the pink fabric?
14:39Because I know that she...
14:39No, we had two pieces of the...
14:40Because she asked her to get us more without us going out there to get it.
14:44Can't have it.
14:45We can't have it?
14:46No, it's not.
14:46Keep it happening.
14:47But we ordered it before the time.
14:50It's done.
14:51It's over.
14:52Leave it out, okay.
14:54You'll live without it.
14:56You will.
14:56Okay.
14:59My stomach is upset about this.
15:01I just don't know what's going to happen.
15:10So let's just take over.
15:18Are you okay, Kendra?
15:19Yeah, I just wanted us to be on the same...
15:22Have the same fabric.
15:23So the collection is cohesive.
15:24Because that's the way we designed it.
15:26Kendra was a bit upset with us.
15:27Because in the fabric store,
15:29Stephen and I switched to fabric at the last second.
15:32This looks more like hard and edgy,
15:35which is what we're going for.
15:36I don't know.
15:38We'll see.
15:39Not please, but we'll see.
15:43I'm going to go change.
15:44I'm just walking on pins and needles
15:46because of the way things are going.
15:48People are pretty stressed.
15:51Don't worry about it.
15:53She's just...
15:53I hate when people are bad at me.
15:55I know you do, but it's just...
15:56She's just in a mood.
15:59It's stressful working in a team.
16:03This is going with the dress.
16:05Yes.
16:05And the dress is in that and that.
16:07Charnette and Lucien,
16:09their aesthetics are a lot closer together
16:11and I'm like way at the other end of the spectrum.
16:13That might look better with...
16:15No.
16:16No?
16:17No.
16:17You need something to tie them together.
16:19Regardless of aesthetics,
16:21I think we can sort of find a way to make it work.
16:23You did good, Lucien.
16:24Perfect.
16:25I'm not really scared of make it.
16:26I take it back.
16:27I like the sequence.
16:28I'm playing a bit of psychology here with her
16:30because she has to say yes
16:32to what Charnette and I are talking about
16:35and deciding.
16:36We want to make sure that we're winning this.
16:38I'm thinking she can do the tanks,
16:41the two tanks.
16:42I'll do the tanks.
16:44All right.
16:44We all have strengths in different areas
16:46that are going to complement each other very nicely.
16:49I'm a workhorse.
16:50I can go real fast.
16:52Carly's detailed and refined
16:54and MG's mind is exploding with creation.
17:10She's just trying to flip.
17:12Do you want to talk for a minute about my top?
17:16Mm-hmm.
17:17I don't know.
17:17I just want to make sure we're all in the same pain.
17:19Oh, don't even say...
17:20You don't have to ask me about everything.
17:23I do.
17:23It was just a decision based on the overall look,
17:26but this is your individual piece.
17:28For the rest of that day
17:29while we were working on our clothes and stuff,
17:31I think Kendra relaxed.
17:34Okay, I feel better about this
17:35because I think it looks cool right now.
17:36We feel confident enough in our friendship
17:39to know that the other's not going to get hurt
17:41and then we just ran from there.
17:44So we'll go like that.
17:44I love that.
17:46There.
17:56Carly, you're so quiet.
17:58What's wrong?
17:58I don't do casual.
17:59I just have a bad feeling.
18:01What?
18:03Why?
18:05I just feel it.
18:06With this?
18:08No, you're crazy.
18:09Don't be crazy.
18:10Hey, girl.
18:15How are you doing?
18:18Is it done?
18:20Nope.
18:22Carly's got her emotions under wraps to the top.
18:25Mm-hmm.
18:27Looks good.
18:28Aw.
18:29For me, the hardest thing about this challenge
18:31is our time limit.
18:33We have so many pieces to do
18:34because our concept has a lot to do with layering.
18:36So I'm a little worried about that.
18:41Okay, so I'll sew them from here that much.
18:43Yes.
18:43Pocket.
18:44Pocket.
18:44And then down.
18:46Got it?
18:46I've been watching the dynamic of Lucian and Chonette and Megan.
18:54It's very interesting and humorous.
18:56They're not really listening to her.
18:58Don't you like it better on the side?
19:00I just don't want it to look like it.
19:01I don't want to show too much of this color.
19:03Yeah, I think it needs to be.
19:04I think this is what works with the cream.
19:07We're all working really, really well together, actually, I think.
19:09And then we have here the thing.
19:12Let's see.
19:12You like it?
19:13Yeah, like this.
19:14Let's see.
19:15Yeah.
19:16Plus, I'll wish this movie done if you want to anymore.
19:19I think that's good.
19:20I would go on the side, like, a little lower.
19:22Yeah, just a little lower.
19:23I trust your judgment.
19:24No, it's good, though.
19:25We need your opinion.
19:28Good evening, everybody.
19:30Hello.
19:31Kendra.
19:32Yeah.
19:32How's the sewing going?
19:33Good.
19:34You can't see it now, though.
19:35No, you're busy in the middle of it.
19:37Love the texture.
19:38Love the pattern.
19:40So how's the teamwork going?
19:42It's going.
19:43Going?
19:44Yeah.
19:45Can we have a quick conference, designers?
19:47I have some news that you want to hear.
19:49The winning collection for this challenge will be featured in an upcoming issue of Elle Canada
19:55and on ElleCanada.com.
19:57So pick it up a lot of notches you want it in Elle Canada.
20:01You'll have until 12 o'clock to finish up, and then it's back to the Rosemont.
20:07Clear?
20:11How's the top?
20:13In pieces?
20:14Oh, God.
20:15We need to make it lighter, springier looking.
20:20What about doing shorts?
20:22Oh, no.
20:23Darling, shorts don't look that good on the runway.
20:26Okay, guys.
20:27What are we doing?
20:28I do not want to be caught with nothing done.
20:30We're running out of time.
20:31I know.
20:33It's the last group challenge I'll ever be in.
20:35F**k, man.
20:38Gotta get going.
20:39It's a lot of work.
20:39This is ridiculous.
20:41Such a waste of time.
20:44You can finally see the end, Phil.
20:47Okay already.
20:48I'm really worried about tomorrow.
20:57Shut your pie.
20:59I'm the one that should be worried.
21:00I'm worried because what we've done is not as, wow.
21:04If Charnette or I will be kicked off...
21:07That won't happen.
21:08It's just ridiculous.
21:10That won't happen.
21:11Watch you guys win.
21:12Then I'm going home.
21:14F**k.
21:18Do you think that's too long, Luciene?
21:30I just left it long.
21:31I figured we could cut it.
21:32Too long, too long.
21:32Just cut it here.
21:33But it's already two layers.
21:35No, no.
21:35That's the front and the back you're cutting.
21:36It's not two layers.
21:38Okay, let me just explain what I'm saying.
21:40We have a lot of work to do.
21:42There's a couple pieces that we need still to finish.
21:48I felt there was no direction in my group.
21:51If it was left to me, I wouldn't be working on a skirt the morning off elimination, but
21:56you've got to make it work.
21:59What can I do to make it better?
22:00I feel like I'm getting there.
22:02We just need it to sew faster.
22:06Does this look whack when it's just like that in the back?
22:09Or like billowy like that?
22:11Yeah, billowy like that.
22:12I'm feeling really stressed out.
22:15Our collection has a lot of pieces in it, and I have only made two pieces, so I still
22:20have to make an entire piece today.
22:22Yeah.
22:23Do you think I need to funk her up a little?
22:26I think it's going to be funky enough.
22:28Our team's getting along just fine.
22:31It's a little harried, you know, during the whole process of fabric shopping, etc.
22:35But we work fine together.
22:38I can hear it.
22:39Well, Steven, I could go to the store and buy that.
22:43Bitches.
22:44Not only is your neck on the chopping block, but you have to make sure that you do good
22:49because you have other people relying on you, too.
22:54I'm happy with the way your collection looks as a whole, but I'm a bit unsure about how the
23:01judges will react to it.
23:02I'm going to hand tack it like that.
23:04No, it'll do that.
23:06Oh.
23:07I was selected as the team leader.
23:09I'm not a dominating person, and I didn't feel that taking on that role would really get
23:16me any further.
23:22That's a wicked jacket.
23:26F***ing rights.
23:28F***ing rights.
23:30What I'm going to do, I'm going to make some ruffles for this.
23:33No.
23:33What do you think I'm going to do?
23:34No?
23:34No?
23:38Hello, hello.
23:39Good morning.
23:40Hi.
23:40MG.
23:42This is a little different than what I saw at the fabric store.
23:44You're happy with it all?
23:45Yeah, I think all together it's going to look great.
23:47And as a team leader, you feel like everybody's pulled their weight?
23:50Yeah, yeah.
23:51That's good because everyone gives ideas.
23:54Good.
23:56So this is a nice choice of fabric.
23:58It seems a little top-heavy with all of this here and this plus this.
24:02Do you love this?
24:03I do.
24:04Show me some excitement.
24:05How much do you love it, Carly?
24:07I really like it.
24:07Brian, I love it.
24:09I love it.
24:10Okay.
24:12Stephen, how's your piece coming?
24:14It's going well.
24:15You're going to fix the top of that sleeve.
24:18The belt seems a little small in proportion to the volume of the coat, no?
24:22It should be wider?
24:23Well, you might have a look at that.
24:26You guys are all together.
24:27You feel strong.
24:28You just need time to get it finished.
24:29Yeah, finish up.
24:30Great.
24:30In this challenge, we don't know if one person is going to be eliminated or the entire team.
24:36Even with one person leaving, it's a bit, you know, tough.
24:40That really adds extra stress.
24:44Okay, we're going to bring the models in now.
24:46You haven't got a lot of time.
24:53Right on, sister.
24:55Did you fix that belt, Stephen?
24:57Try different proportions right now.
25:00I love how this jacket feels.
25:02It's very urban.
25:03Take this and put it with that.
25:05I'll just finish the shirt and stuff and we'll get you into hair and makeup.
25:16That's cute.
25:24I think it should need a little bit more messy.
25:26It needs to fit all together.
25:28They do a great job, obviously.
25:29You know, it's a really good team, L'Oreal.
25:31It's a pleasure to work with them.
25:33I like her.
25:33I like them.
25:35You must be the team leader.
25:36I am the team leader.
25:38Sort of like soft and easy, flowy, kind of romantic.
25:42Lucien likes to do really crazy hair and makeup, very theatrical.
25:45And I, of course, like to do more clean, simple, very strong looks.
25:50So we were thinking for the hair, something up, but sort of like an undone up.
25:54Can we tweak it a little bit?
25:55Because one of the groups already has something similar to that.
25:59Okay, white.
25:59Okay, yeah.
26:05Is it futuristic, huh?
26:07Yeah.
26:07Very pink, luminous, bright.
26:10Kendra and Stephen wanted their girl's hair up
26:13because they wanted them to look a little bit edgier.
26:16We have like a short one, medium length one, and a long one.
26:19I like that one.
26:21I don't like that one.
26:24Is there any way we can make them all even?
26:26There's no more extension pieces, is there?
26:28We're going to see if we can add something.
26:30I think the three of us, being the three team leaders,
26:39we're all obviously feeling a bit more vulnerable than everybody else.
26:42Try this, yeah.
26:43I'm feeling confident, actually.
26:46I think it's going to look great on the catwalk,
26:48and we're going to make it work.
26:50Ultimately, if it sucks and people don't like it,
26:52it's going to be my ass on the line.
26:54Okay, designers, it's 12.
26:58Time to take your model to the runway.
27:02Tools down, it's time for the runway.
27:03Let's go.
27:04Quick, quick, quick.
27:05What do you think you've got to put straps?
27:07No.
27:07No.
27:07No.
27:08Look here, let's stop adding.
27:10Stop adding.
27:18Hello, designers.
27:20Hello.
27:21Your challenge was to create a mini-collection
27:24that forecast trends for spring 2008.
27:28You also had to work for the first time in teams.
27:32You each picked up one item of clothing at Winners.
27:37That item inspired the rest of your design.
27:41Let's hope your results inspire the judges.
27:45First, from Elle Canada, editor-in-chief Rita Sylvan.
27:49Next, from Bustle Clothing, Sean Hewson.
27:53And our guest judge, Shannon Johnson,
27:56the manager of public relations from Winners.
28:00On this challenge, you will be judged on your collections as a team.
28:05And the winning team will see their design shown
28:08in an upcoming issue of Elle Canada
28:11and on ElleCanada.com.
28:14You will also be judged on your work as an individual.
28:19And at the end of the runway show,
28:21one of you will be out.
28:24When Amanda first came down the runway,
28:33I looked at her outfit and I thought it looked great.
28:38I had to fight on a few details to keep it simple,
28:41but I was really, really happy with it.
28:48I thought it was nice.
28:49I thought it worked.
28:50I thought it was a sophisticated look.
28:53It's something that winners would buy.
28:59It's pushing the envelope a little bit,
29:01but it's still quite ladylike.
29:11When I saw Renee, I thought she looked fantastic.
29:13I thought we did a great job.
29:15I thought we were right on the trend.
29:19I thought we did fantastically.
29:21I was very happy.
29:23It was great to see the whole collection together
29:32because, you know, we had to change up a lot of things.
29:36But it looked great.
29:37It came together really well.
29:38I was really, really happy with it.
29:39Chanel, she looks really romantic and casual.
29:50She looks pretty and easy, you know,
29:55like if she's having a nice day,
29:57she's going for coffee with friends.
29:58When I saw my model walking down the runway,
30:12I thought it was well-proportioned.
30:14The colors were there.
30:15It was very fresh and hip.
30:16It was a big mess of fresh color and style.
30:26Street style, street style, rock style.
30:33I love the overall look of the collection.
30:36It's not something that I do,
30:37but it's something I totally understand.
30:40The second that Marie said what it was going to be,
30:43like I totally understood her vision
30:45and I think we executed it really well.
30:53Everyone liked the design, liked the collection,
30:56and we were really proud of it anyway, all of us.
30:59When Joelle was walking down the runway,
31:08I was worried.
31:13It looked good,
31:14but I wasn't 100% confident.
31:17I don't think it was my best work.
31:19It was kind of shocking
31:31when I saw the clothes come down the runway.
31:35As much as I loved the look
31:36and as much as I loved the concept,
31:38I wasn't totally thrilled with how it looked.
31:41I loved the jacket that I created
31:53and the look with the dress and the leggings.
31:59I thought Dre looked beautiful
32:01and I was pleasantly surprised.
32:08I was proud of our whole collection.
32:09We designed pretty much everything
32:12as a group
32:13and had input in each other's designs.
32:29We have judged and scored your designs.
32:33I was very disappointed to see what I saw.
32:36This was truly the test
32:40of what real fashion is supposed to be.
32:44Wearable.
32:45The key is wearable.
32:51And now,
32:52I would like the following team
32:54to step forward.
32:56Marie-Jean-Vivre,
32:59Marie-Jean-Vivre,
33:00Carly,
33:01and Bidèle.
33:05Your collection
33:06was shabby chic
33:08minus the chic.
33:10It was messy.
33:12The color's beautiful,
33:14but there was not a single
33:15must-have piece
33:17in this collection.
33:19You have just made it.
33:22You're all still in the competition.
33:25You can leave the runway.
33:34I'd rather be shabby than chic.
33:36That's all I know.
33:37Seriously.
33:38At least we loved it
33:39and had a blast doing it.
33:40Yeah.
33:42And now,
33:43for the other two teams.
33:46Let's bring out your models.
33:47Megan,
33:57let's start with you.
33:59I worked on the tanks.
34:02Charnette did the shorts.
34:04I started the skirt
34:05and then Charnette finished it.
34:07And then,
34:08Lucien did the dress
34:09and the shirt.
34:11You were the leader.
34:12Did you direct the trend?
34:14We actually all worked on it
34:16completely as a team.
34:17We all sat down
34:18at the sketch table
34:19and worked on the silhouettes
34:20as a group
34:21and it was truly
34:21like all of us together.
34:24I think in the end
34:25we all sort of came out
34:26with something
34:26that we were really happy with.
34:28So Lucien,
34:28what did you think of her
34:29as a team leader?
34:31I think she can take charge
34:32a bit more.
34:33Part of being a good leader
34:34is being able to recognize
34:35what your own weaknesses are
34:37and where you need to ask
34:38for help sometimes.
34:39She took too long to ask
34:41and it got me going.
34:42I wish I didn't like too much.
34:45Rita,
34:45what did you think
34:46of this collection?
34:46I love your choice
34:48of the colors.
34:48The whole look is feminine
34:50and soft and easy
34:52and as far as it being
34:53on trend and cohesive,
34:55full marks on both counts.
34:58Sean.
34:58I like the high-waistedness
35:00of those shorts
35:01and I also like the high-waistedness
35:02of the skirt.
35:04I'm so sick and tired
35:05of seeing bubble skirts
35:05and I hope this trend
35:07doesn't continue into spring
35:08but I think as a collection
35:10there's definitely
35:11a cohesive runway statement
35:12which is a good one.
35:13I like the way you brought
35:15grey which is so key for fall.
35:17You brought it into spring
35:18and made it fresh for spring.
35:21The pleats on the back
35:22of the shorts.
35:23Don't know if every woman
35:24wants pleats on her bum.
35:25Yes.
35:28Danger, danger.
35:29But I will say something
35:33about Lucien.
35:34Bravo, Lucien
35:35because you have listened
35:36and it's edited
35:37and it's a different silhouette
35:39from you.
35:40It's not overcrowded.
35:41Yes, it's very simple.
35:42It's very easy, right?
35:43But look at the details inside.
35:45That's beautiful details.
35:47Really beautiful.
35:48And I want to commend you
35:49on that.
35:50Don't be cocky.
35:54Now we're moving along
35:55to Michael's team.
35:58Tell us about your collection.
35:59We all designed
36:00and worked together
36:01on every piece
36:02but mainly Kendra
36:04worked on the jacket,
36:05I worked on this
36:06and Stephen worked on this.
36:08How did you think
36:09of yourself as a leader, Michael?
36:12I found it hard to lead
36:14because they're both
36:14my good friends
36:16and so there was
36:17no real need
36:17to put our foot down anywhere
36:19because we were all
36:19on the same page
36:20with everything.
36:21Shannon.
36:23The George Jetson
36:24meets I Dream of Jeannie
36:25thing doesn't work for me.
36:27In particular,
36:28this pink tunic
36:29with the sleeves
36:30is very awkward.
36:32I don't think a woman
36:33would wear that.
36:34It looks too costumey.
36:35To me,
36:36it doesn't feel
36:37appropriate for spring.
36:38This is a very hard look.
36:39It is urban
36:40but I feel
36:41it's also dated.
36:42To me,
36:43that whole futuristic look
36:44is history in fashion
36:45so I find it hard,
36:47aggressive,
36:49not in keeping
36:50with trends for spring.
36:52But did you guys
36:54really feel
36:54that you were all
36:55on the same page?
36:57I believe we did
36:58think that we were
36:58all on the same page.
36:59I think that
37:00we all live in the city.
37:01Women wear black.
37:02You know,
37:03they go to the office.
37:04You know,
37:05the trend lately
37:06is a little bit more
37:06casual chic
37:07in the office,
37:08I find.
37:08Do you see any of this?
37:10These three were being
37:10worn to the office?
37:12I think Stephen's jacket
37:13could be worn
37:14to the office.
37:14Actually,
37:15I love this piece.
37:16Can you turn around?
37:18I think the fuchsia
37:19on the inside
37:20of the vent
37:20is great.
37:21I mean,
37:21you like volume, Rita.
37:22I do like volume.
37:23You must like that.
37:24No,
37:24I don't actually like that
37:25because I think
37:26it was an ambitious project
37:28that you took on,
37:29a lot of details,
37:30a lot of doodads
37:31and I don't think
37:32you at this stage
37:34in your career
37:35have the technical skill
37:36to pull it off.
37:37We hadn't thought
37:39of the word,
37:41the word wearable.
37:43The idea is that
37:44there is one key star
37:46element on that outfit.
37:47Is there something
37:48in there
37:49that one can wear it
37:50with any given thing
37:51that they have
37:52in their closet?
37:53That is key.
37:56Okay,
37:57we've heard everything
37:59we need to hear.
38:00Please leave the runway
38:02while we decide
38:03which team
38:04had the best collection
38:05and which designer
38:07will be going home.
38:11Okay,
38:14so,
38:16although there were
38:16some that did better
38:17than others,
38:18this was
38:19very boring.
38:21It was safe,
38:22it was predictable,
38:24it was ordinary
38:26and some of it
38:26was just bad.
38:28But the first collection
38:29I did like,
38:30you're right,
38:30it wasn't wow,
38:31knock me off my chair.
38:33It was really just
38:33more of an extension
38:34of what's happening now.
38:35They played it safe
38:36that way.
38:37Maybe to take more
38:38of a risk
38:38would have been
38:39nice to see.
38:40Megan said
38:41that she actually
38:42didn't do
38:42most of the pieces
38:44and Lucien
38:45and Charnette did.
38:46She did some
38:47of the tops
38:47but she knew,
38:48okay,
38:49this is my strength,
38:50this is not my strength
38:50and that is a good leader.
38:52I totally agree with you
38:53but I thought
38:54that was a luck
38:55that she lucked out.
38:56Almost like
38:56they did well
38:57despite the leader
38:58not because of the leader.
38:59Exactly,
39:00because she had
39:00very two strong designers.
39:02So is Megan
39:03on the chopping block?
39:06Look at this team,
39:07Michael's team.
39:09Look at this team.
39:10I think there was
39:10not one single
39:11redeeming factor
39:12from this group.
39:14I just felt
39:15they were all trying
39:15to be very nice
39:16to one another
39:16and essentially
39:17we were saying
39:18this collection
39:18doesn't work
39:19and they were like
39:20well we think
39:21it's okay
39:22and we all agreed.
39:24Very wishy-washy
39:25and I'm like
39:25only one person wins
39:27you're not taking
39:27the two of them with you.
39:28I mean Rita,
39:28what did you think?
39:29Kendra is a very
39:30strong designer.
39:31She is
39:32but I think
39:32the problem there
39:33and Michael said it
39:34and we didn't have
39:35to even say anything.
39:36She said
39:36we're all friends.
39:38Yes
39:38and we didn't think
39:39of the wearability.
39:41They just seemed
39:41to miss it.
39:42You know
39:43Kendra said
39:44you would wear
39:44this jacket
39:45to the office.
39:45What office?
39:47Show me this office.
39:48It still doesn't mean
39:49it isn't wearable.
39:50Kendra's jacket
39:51it was wearable.
39:52Stephen's trench
39:53was wearable.
39:54Michael's tunic
39:55was not wearable.
39:57I don't think
39:57that Stephen's trench
39:59was predictable
40:00or safe
40:01or boring.
40:01I thought it was good.
40:02You are so wrong.
40:05He, that is wearable.
40:05We'll put it on.
40:06Au contraire
40:07mon frisson.
40:09You are wrong,
40:10wrong, wrong.
40:14I think I know
40:15what our decision is,
40:17right?
40:18Let's bring them back.
40:19One team has won
40:29this challenge.
40:31But the one designer
40:32who impressed us
40:34the least
40:35will be out.
40:43One team
40:44has won
40:45this challenge
40:46and will have
40:48and will have
40:48their mini collection
40:49seen in
40:50El Canada
40:51and ElCanada.com.
40:53But the one designer
40:54who impressed us
40:55the least
40:56will be out.
41:01Since this is
41:03a team challenge,
41:04there is no immunity.
41:10Megan,
41:10your team's collection
41:13was pretty
41:14and on point.
41:18But Megan,
41:19we think
41:20you lucked out
41:21hiding behind
41:23two strong designers.
41:27Megan,
41:28your team
41:31has won
41:32this challenge.
41:34Congratulations.
41:35You can all
41:38leave the runway.
41:44Definitely felt
41:45nice to win.
41:47Woo!
41:48We all worked
41:49on it as a team,
41:50but with the next
41:51challenge,
41:51I want to sort of
41:52prove to people
41:54that I didn't
41:55just luck out
41:56and that I can
41:57stand on my own
41:58two feet.
41:58Michael,
42:05you thought
42:07your team's look
42:08was edgy,
42:09but we thought
42:10it was way
42:12off base.
42:14Your group
42:14collection
42:15impressed us
42:16the least
42:17and one of you
42:18will have to go.
42:22Kendra,
42:24you're safe.
42:27You can leave
42:27the runway.
42:28Steven,
42:41you have struggled
42:43with almost
42:44every challenge,
42:46including this one.
42:49Michael,
42:51you were the
42:52group leader,
42:53but that
42:54is not a reason
42:56to let you go.
42:56you designed
42:59the weakest
43:00outfit
43:01in this collection.
43:05And that
43:06is the reason
43:07why
43:07you're out.
43:14Steven,
43:15you can leave
43:16the runway.
43:18I can't see it.
43:19I'm sorry.
43:33It's okay.
43:34You just didn't
43:34measure up.
43:35Thanks.
43:36It's okay.
43:37It's okay.
43:42That's okay.
43:43Bye.
43:44Good luck.
43:45Good luck.
43:56It's okay.
43:58It's okay.
44:04I think being on
44:07Project Runway Canada
44:08was something
44:10I'll never forget.
44:11So it was a great
44:12opportunity to
44:13start something new.
44:14Michael,
44:16give me a hug.
44:17I want to wish you
44:18all the luck in the world.
44:19Thanks.
44:20It's just been
44:21so tiring
44:22and overwhelming
44:26and a lot of pressure.
44:28I think it was
44:30a really cool
44:31experience
44:32but eventually
44:33I'd love to
44:33have my own line
44:35whether that's
44:37tomorrow
44:37or two years
44:38from now
44:38I really don't know.
44:41Next time
44:42on Project Runway Canada
44:44to win the next challenge
44:45you will have to
44:46hit a creative
44:47high note.
44:49I would like
44:49to introduce
44:50to you
44:51your muse.
44:53She is
44:53the pride
44:54of Canada.
44:56I'd love to do.
44:57Megan has
44:58a giant
44:59horseshoe
45:00lodged
45:00up her ass.
45:02Ryan insulted
45:02my sewing job.
45:03I want
45:04impeccable
45:05workmanship out there.
45:06How is your
45:06ballgum coming along?
45:08Fan-fucking-tastic.

45:10coming?
45:11Fan-fucking-tastic too.
45:13Bad tailoring.
