Manny Singh Kang begins 24-hour non-stop static cycle ride for Dementia UK

Fundraiser Manny Singh Kang has begun another fundraising challenge, a challenge which will see him ride non-stop for 24 hours on a static bike outside Wolverhampton University

00:00So the big day has arrived Manny, how are you feeling?

00:03You know what, I'm super nervous actually.

00:05I'm probably more nervous than I've ever been for any challenge that I've done,

00:10but it's a great turnout, lots of people here,

00:13thanking the University as well for the location.

00:16So we're ready, so it's just those last few moments before we start.

00:21I've spoken about the difference in this challenge,

00:23because obviously everything you've done has been with your fingers and the ground.

00:26Now you're cycling for 24 hours completely non-stop.

00:30Are you taking your naughty of that?

00:32No, I think I'm going to go into the unknown.

00:36There will be no stoppages.

00:38I'm really determined for no reason that I'm going to stop.

00:42So yeah, that's going to be tough.

00:44I'm going to learn how to manage myself on the bike while I'm doing it.

00:48I couldn't really recreate it to be fair.

00:50But the pain's worth it for you at least of course.

00:52Yeah, obviously. It's 24 hours of my life and we'll be back to normal by next week, hopefully.

00:58But the cause, Dementia UK, a million people are living with the condition.

01:02I've got people here today who are doing it here in the memory of their loved ones

01:07who've tragically passed away.

01:09So we've got to try and help as much as we can.

01:12And Dementia UK do a fabulous job. They're here today as well.

01:15We need to support charities like this.

01:17Yes, it is.

01:20So you're going to be finishing 45 minutes before that.

01:22Yeah, 45.

01:23You're going to have horse fans working down on it.

01:25Yeah.

01:26Is that going to sort of spoil you?

01:27Yeah, I think so. The adrenaline just goes through the roof.

01:30I've noticed that in all my challenges.

01:32And fans of the club donate 90% of everything I've raised over the years.

01:37So I'm always really thankful and there's a lot of people who want to come and join in.

01:41So I'm looking forward to meeting everybody.

01:43And I might be a bit busy peddling away, but it definitely will spur me on.
