Lucknow, UP: A disturbing case has surfaced at PGI area where a young woman claims she was beaten and humiliated by police after calling Dial-112 to report molestation.
The incident occurred late Wednesday when she was heading to meet a friend in Sector-10. Two youths allegedly misbehaved with her, prompting her to seek police help. A team—led by a sub-inspector with two women constables—arrived but, according to the victim, dragged her into the vehicle, called her a “prostitute,” tore her clothes, and assaulted her at the outpost.
In a viral video, the woman accuses police of rubbing her face with shoes and threatening false intoxication charges, warning she may “commit suicide in front of the Legislative Assembly” if denied justice.
Lucknow Police state that ACP Gosaiganj is investigating, and legal action will follow based on findings.
