The Government has been pressed for urgent clarity on when "desperately needed" accessibility improvements will be made at a north Shropshire railway station.

00:00Helen Morgan.
00:02The people in Whitchurch in my constituency will be quite pleased to see the response to my written question
00:07regarding the access for a were-away fund, which shows that £280 million has been allocated for the spending review period.
00:13But they'll be really keen to know when we're getting step-free access at Whitchurch station.
00:18So could we have a statement from the Secretary of State for Transport to outline how this money is going to be spent
00:23and critically where and when it's going to be spent?
00:26And if the Leader of the House would like to come to Whitchurch, if she came from her own constituency,
00:31she could experience the footbridge and the lack of step-free access herself.
00:35Well, can I thank her for raising the issue of step-free access at her local station,
00:40which gets raised again with me all the time in business questions.
00:43And I'm sure that the topic would make a very well-subscribed debate if she wanted to have it,
00:48but I will ensure she gets a ministerial response and I'm pleased to hear about her.
