Oregon Ducks Coach Dan Lanning discusses the Ducks ignoring the noise while playing
Transcript
00:00For a second straight week, though, we're talking about how good it is.
00:06What does that say about what Ross Douglas is doing with this group
00:09and just the mentality?
00:10It speaks volumes of our players, and it speaks volumes of Ross
00:13and his ability to communicate and Coach Stein and that offensive staff.
00:16Like, it's a group that works together.
00:17It's a team sport, right?
00:19And to have that many threats that can, you know,
00:22be dangerous on the perimeter and block really hard,
00:24like that's something I think you'll continue to see from our guys.
00:27Like, that gives us a chance to be really good.
00:30Second row, middle brief.
00:33Your running back depth is certainly impressive,
00:36starting with Noah Whittington, who had a career-long run today.
00:39What makes him unique so far this season?
00:41He's the best teammate.
00:42He's an unbelievable teammate.
00:44And, like, I think I said this before,
00:47but he was coming off an injury last year,
00:48and I don't know that people get to see what we get to see
00:50every single day in practice.
00:51This guy's got juice.
00:53He's never had a bad day.
00:54He's tough.
00:55He's tough as nails.
00:56And, you know, guys from Peach County are, right?
00:59And he embodies what it means to be an Oregon Duck.
01:02Right here in the middle.
01:05What went into choosing to receive the ball
01:07when you won the coin toss?
01:09We're good when we score first, right?
01:11We got a really good record when we score first,
01:13and we felt good about our openers.
01:15Good here on the right in the middle.
01:19Coach, you often talk about how these situations in these games
01:22just being about you and just being about your team,
01:24and considering the word said on the other side leading up to this week,
01:28what would you note as the sole emotional driver
01:32into this performance today?
01:33Us.
01:34It's still about us, right?
01:35It's always been about us.
01:37It's like our ability to ignore the noise
01:39is always the thing that's going to make us go
01:41and uphold the standard.
01:43Like I said, if you step on the field for us,
01:45in our mind you're a starter, right?
01:46You have a standard to uphold.
01:47It didn't matter if it was the last drive in the game there.
01:49There's a standard.
01:50There's an expectation.
01:51And our guys have upheld that so far.
01:54You've got big enough money.
01:55You've got big enough money.
01:56All right, thank you.
