Pingtung, in southern Taiwan, hosted the country's 31st annual disaster drill, its first since the nearby Maanshan Power Plant was decommissioned in May. This year’s drill focused on responding to a radiation leak from nuclear waste in the event of an earthquake or extreme weather.
