00:00Hello there, everyone.
00:30Welcome to Brands Hatch, the scene of some of the most iconic moments in the history of the Benets British Superbike Championship.
00:36And today we're going to see another.
00:39As the 2025 title is decided between Kyle Ride and Brad Ray, the gap now standing at 27 points after Brad pulled back vital ground in race one yesterday.
00:54We're back at Brands Hatch for the showdown finale.
00:5830 races down, three remain, and wouldn't you just know it was coming down to the final round.
01:09Oh, there's a bit of a jump there from Brad Ray.
01:11I'm not sure if he jumped the start, but he certainly didn't get a good start at all.
01:14Through immediately then goes Kyle Ride into P1.
01:16And there you go. You've got to be careful. He could have slid up the inside there.
01:25They all come up alongside each other.
01:29Hiddin is strong. It's a turn wide and now here comes the lunch from Brad Ray.
01:32Can he get it stopped? Will he run wide? No. Lovely move.
01:34Tommy Brightwell has got that. And that kind of sums up the season.
01:45Scott Redding is through on Christian Hiddin.
01:47Number four on the Hager PBN Ducati.
01:5020 years of racing together, travelling together, families travelling together, and it comes down to this.
01:59Here comes...
02:00Reading, yeah, that's it. And he's managed to get that done.
02:04He's going through now. Kyle Ride goes through now.
02:07Great move from the defending champion.
02:12Oh, Hiddin's got that.
02:14Christian Hiddin down over at Druids.
02:16Get your chin on, Christian.
02:19Scott Redding is pulling over to the inside line. He's going to attack Brad Ray.
02:22He's got that inside line. He goes through. Brad Sorrent coming.
02:25But that's Kyle Ride's line round there. Look, it's a really late apex.
02:34He's lining something up here, though, into Sterling's, and he's got that inside line.
02:38He knows that with Kyle sweeping lines, there's always going to be a bit of a door open.
02:42Scott Redding wins here on Saturday.
02:44Brad Ray second.
02:46Kyle Ride third.
02:47Three points taken out of the championship.
02:50Scott Redding.
02:51Well, he's delivered on what he said.
02:54Brilliant ride from Scott.
02:57It's going to the final race of the season.
02:59Yes, it is.
03:00Again.
03:04Yeah, sixth win of the year for Scott Redding yesterday.
03:08And those three points that Brad took out of Kyle, how important will they be?
03:12We're going to find out today.
03:14It's all on the line here on the final day of the 2025 Bennett's British Superbike Championship.
03:19Welcome along to Brands Hatch.
03:21John Hopkins and James Hayden have sat on and stood on starting grids all over the world with all sorts of things on the line.
03:27But there's nothing quite like a starting grid on a title deciding day, guys, with a bit of rain in the air as well, James.
03:34Yeah, exactly.
03:34It's been sort of dry, but we've just felt a few spots.
03:37Hopefully it'll pass along.
03:38It's not due yet, but just adds another little layer of stress, a little layer of worry.
03:42And, yeah, we're in for a really good day.
03:45It's tight.
03:46Obviously, he's got, you know, Kyle's got that nice little lead, 27 points.
03:50You say it's a good cushion.
03:52But as we know in BSB, you know, anything can happen, especially when you just bring in a few little bits of rain.
03:57They've both won this title before, of course, John.
03:59So that's kind of one thing, one element of pressure potentially off their shoulders.
04:04But Kyle's never sat there with a 27-point lead on the final day and had to withstand that kind of pressure.
04:09What's that like?
04:11Yeah, I mean, there's, you know, neither one of them are going to have that extreme pressure.
04:18Obviously, Kyle knows what he's got to do.
04:20He's got to go out there.
04:22He's just got to keep Bradley Ray with insights.
04:24Ray has got to go out there and accumulate as much points as possible.
04:28He's got to go out, try and break ride, hope that he's going to make a mistake.
04:32But, you know, weather, like James said, is going to play a massive factor.
04:37You can smell it in the air.
04:38It's the final.
04:39Oh, I just, I love it.
04:41I love the brand's final.
04:42I do.
04:42Yeah, there's something special about it.
04:44It's dry at the moment.
04:45It was dry yesterday for race one.
04:47And we saw this kind of little psychological battle, if you like, on track between Brad and Kyle throughout the race, James.
04:53Yeah, we did.
04:54And one of the things that, obviously, Bradley Ray's trying to do is he's trying to bring some other people into the race.
05:00Because at the moment, you know, these guys, it's only really them and Reading who have had that sort of pace.
05:05So, early on, you know, it was Reading, we can see Scott coming here.
05:10And then Scott was just making his moves coming up.
05:12This is Bradley actually just passing Kyle.
05:15And when he passed Kyle, Scott was just that little bit.
05:17He was amazing.
05:18He did, you know, he passed his lap on the last lap.
05:20But it was just a bit too much.
05:22So, it's going to be interesting whether anyone can join those and take some points or not.
05:25Well, out of the two of them, you would think that potentially John Brad might be the one who's most happy to see these kind of inclement conditions.
05:32Because that could bring other people into the mix.
05:34Exactly.
05:35There's definitely sure to be buffers that are going to be coming into the mix.
05:39Reading, Skinner, all these guys.
05:41They want to go out.
05:42They want to finish the season on a high.
05:44Ray definitely wants this rain to come in.
05:47Hopefully, that's going to mix it up a little bit.
05:49But, as I know all too well, anything can happen in the BSB showdown in the second race.
05:55Okay.
05:56Penultimate race of the season coming up then.
05:58Penultimate grid walk of the season for James Whitton.
06:01Cheers, boys.
06:02All the action is at the front.
06:03I'll get to that because I want to go right across the front row.
06:05But I want to have a quick word.
06:06It will be a quick word.
06:08With Manu, you finished sixth yesterday.
06:10Great ride, I've got to say.
06:11And a great season in general, I think, on the Kawasaki.
06:14How are you feeling?
06:15It's the last day that you're going to be riding the old Venerables that extend.
06:19Yeah, thank you.
06:20It's been a really good season so far.
06:22I think I've become a better person myself.
06:25I feel like a proper superbike rider now.
06:27I think we've known each other now for a long time.
06:29And it took me a bit of getting used to, you know, this life, I guess you could say.
06:35But now I feel this season's been amazing.
06:37I feel super confident in myself.
06:39The team's been mega.
06:40But, yeah, I just hope to have a good day because, you know, the Zen X10 deserves a good send-off.
06:45So, yeah, it's a little bit of sad, bittersweet, really, because, you know, this bike's been the introduction to my superbike career, you know.
06:53So, yeah, I just hope that I can have a good day today.
06:58Give it a good outing.
06:58Good luck, Max.
06:59Great.
06:59Thanks very much.
07:00Cheers.
07:00Yeah, great.
07:01It's really come of age as Max this year.
07:03Right now to the business end of this final day at BSB.
07:07Manu had a great ride yesterday.
07:09He had the win, but he did it like a gentleman and for a couple of reasons.
07:15Scott, you had good pace yesterday, but you didn't – I know what was going on.
07:19You could tell what you were thinking.
07:20You weren't going to pass either Kyle or Brad without being able to pass the other one reasonably effectively.
07:26You had a couple of goals.
07:27You made it dead clean, dead safe, and got – it was a lovely ride and a gentleman's ride, if you don't mind me saying.
07:32Yeah, that's what I said before.
07:33Whether they're battling in front or behind and they're together, then they're going to stay together.
07:37So it makes it difficult for me, but I'm just trying to do what I can, the right thing.
07:42I want to win races, but I also don't want to interrupt.
07:44So if a race wins on the line, then, you know, you've got to go for it.
07:48But then boys were riding mega.
07:51Happy with my own performance towards the end of that race.
07:53Brad come again at the end.
07:55So you can never let up around here at Brands Act.
07:57You can catch her out quite quick.
07:59Now we've got a sprint race that's not my favorite, but it is what it is.
08:03We get our head down, try and get this race underway before the rain comes.
08:07Well, Scott.
08:09Yeah, great ride.
08:10He did it with intelligence.
08:12Didn't want to get involved in a championship battle, and he didn't.
08:15He did everything absolutely spot on.
08:17Did Scott yesterday right?
08:18I'm going to have a word out.
08:19I don't like doing this, but I have to do.
08:22You know, it's my job.
08:23Kyle, a really good race yesterday.
08:26It was a thinking man's race.
08:29It might be a little bit different today.
08:30We're expecting a bit of rain coming in.
08:32How do you sleep, basically?
08:33Do you sleep all right?
08:34Well, we're out swearing rubbish.
08:36Up all night thinking what's going to happen, but yeah, we've, I don't know, three years
08:42now.
08:42I've done a really good job getting myself to Sunday at Brands having a chance of winning,
08:45so just do what I've been doing for those last 18 months.
08:49Obviously, I won last year by being consistent.
08:52This ain't going to be about being consistent.
08:54I've got to do a good race today.
08:55I've got to try and beat Brad in this one to make my life easier this afternoon, whatever
08:57the weather does.
08:58So, yeah, yesterday's race was smart, but only the last three laps.
09:01I wanted to win up until that point, but then I had to wave the white flag.
09:04But 12 laps, I think my bike's going to be good.
09:06Good luck.
09:07Thanks, mate.
09:08Right, I don't want to get right in the faces, but I have to speak to him.
09:11This is Brad Ray.
09:12Wrote a lovely race yesterday, dug in at the end.
09:15I actually think that you took one or two risks.
09:19Looked to be pushing the front quite a bit towards the end of that race, but you had to
09:23do it, and I think another couple of laps, it might have been different yesterday.
09:26Yeah, that was it.
09:28It was difficult yesterday because of the tyre temperature.
09:30We needed to try and have a little bit of tyre for the end of the race, and it took me a while
09:34to get through on the car.
09:35Obviously, same bike.
09:37It's always hard to try and make a pass.
09:39So, yeah, got through and just got my head down.
09:41I had target fixation on Scott and wanted to try my best to get through to him.
09:46One more lap maybe we would have done, but, yeah, happy to finish in front of Kyle, and
09:49we'll try again in this race.
09:50Good luck, mate.
09:51Best of luck.
09:53That's it.
09:53You don't want to be in the face.
09:55They've got a job to do.
09:56I understand what they're going to do.
09:58I realise how nervous they are, and we're going to see a pelting race here.
10:02I think I'm nervous myself.
10:05It's a fascinating prospect, isn't it?
10:07Black clouds on the horizon here, but clear thinking required for Brad.
10:11Ray and for Kyle Ryd as they go head-to-head here at Brands Hatch for the Venice British
10:16Superbike Championship title.
10:18Race 2 is on the way.
10:28After 31 races, the title will be decided today.
10:33The defending champion, Kyle Ryd, takes on his old sparring partner, the 2022 champion,
10:39Bradley Ray, humble lads from humble backgrounds.
10:43Their friendship is cast aside for two more battles in British Superbike's famous amphitheatre,
10:51Brands Hatch.
10:52A little bit of rain in the air as James Whittam arrives here in the commentary box.
10:57This is a sprint race.
10:5812 laps, 27 points separating Karl Ryd and Bradley Ray, 35 on offer in this one, meaning that
11:05Kyle can win the championship right here, right now, but he has to outscore Brad by nine points.
11:11If he wins, Brad would have to be off the podium, and the title is his, but there are
11:1512 laps to come.
11:16And the last thing you want on title deciding day, James, when you're on a grid here, is
11:21seeing spots of rain on your visor.
11:23Exactly that, yeah.
11:24It just adds another kind of complication to the mix, if you want to...
11:28No, no, you go ahead.
11:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:30Carry on.
11:31Nothing coming down that's going to affect him as, yeah, you can see the rain is coming
11:34from behind him as they sit on the grid, but there is the odd really big spot.
11:39It's not like a little bit of drizzle coming in, it's just the odd big drop of rain coming
11:43down.
11:44It starts as a dry race, James, so it would be stopped if it absolutely dumped down, but...
11:48No, it starts as a dry race, it would actually be stopped if there's any kind of rain.
11:52Yeah.
11:53So they're in a safer position with a tyre choice now, they're all going to go for slick,
11:58so obviously, because it will stop it if it rains.
12:00Scott Redding looked brilliant yesterday from sixth on the grid, but it does take a little
12:05time to warm up into it.
12:06Exactly that, but what a gentleman's ride.
12:08Yeah.
12:08He rode with, yeah, with skill, but also with the sort of thought he didn't want to get
12:15involved in a battle, and he did a good job of it, actually.
12:18Difficult to do that.
12:19The nerves are jangling between the riders, the teams, the family, the fans.
12:23There is a nice moment.
12:25You could just see there, Brad Ray's dad, Kev, and I think that was Shannon Etheridge as
12:29well, crew chief to Kyle Ride.
12:31There is a lot of camaraderie, a lot of mutual respect, but someone has to win the championship
12:37today.
12:37Is it Ride or is it Ray?
12:40We will be one step closer to finding out here after 12 laps of Brandt's hatch.
12:44We wait for that green flag to be waved.
12:46There it is.
12:47And we are just seconds away from starting.
12:49Brad Ray on pole.
12:51Kyle Ride second on the grid.
12:52Yesterday's race winner on the Hager PBM Ducati Scott Redding third.
12:56Eyes on the lights, and away we go.
12:58Both the boys in P1 and P2 got a decent start.
13:02Kyle Ride's got the inside line, but Brad Ray will just close the door to lead into Paddock Hill Bend.
13:07Yeah, Brad Ray made up for his uncharacteristically bad start yesterday.
13:11He just stumbled off the line a bit.
13:13That was a perfect launch right on cue.
13:15Just going around the outside there, or attempting to go around the outside of Scott Redding is Rory Skinner, number 11.
13:20And the two lime green Kawasaki's look busy.
13:22Christian Hiddin going for a lunge there.
13:24Ooh, just had to back out of that down into Graham Hill Bend.
13:27He'd be feisty of late, as Christian slid off yesterday, but ran right up the door.
13:30Redding straight up the inside of Kyle Ride.
13:33That's the move he pulled off yesterday.
13:35Yeah, Kyle leaves himself a little bit open to that.
13:37He tries to get a good line out of this corner by straightening the exit out,
13:40but that leaves him a little bit vulnerable on the way in.
13:42Brad Ray leads, and now Rory Skinner coming through on Kyle Ride.
13:45This is not what Kyle wants to see.
13:48Kyle there.
13:49Did he see Rory or not?
13:51That's the question, but he ran his normal line, and that's actually cost Rory Skinner.
13:55He's dropped back a couple places.
13:56Yeah, I think what we've seen from Scott Redding is he's keen to get out front and just clear it off
14:00and let Ride and Ray baff it out between them for the championship.
14:04Right, Ray, though, yesterday was impressive on that final lap of the race.
14:07Yes, he was.
14:08I honestly think he took more risk than he's, I mean, at the front end of the bike were complaining.
14:13I think he was pushing right on it.
14:14He could have thrown it all the way.
14:15Yeah, he could have done, but also he could have pulled another five points back.
14:18Yeah, very true.
14:19On Kyle.
14:20We're about to come to the end of lap one, then.
14:21It's Brad Ray from Scott Redding and Kyle Ride.
14:23I think Brad would take this.
14:25His thing stand, but he's got to try and now defend from that Hager PBM to Cathy.
14:29Into Paddock Hill, Ben, we go once more.
14:31Yep, difficult bike to defend against.
14:32He's got a little bit of extra speed down the stretch.
14:35Not perfect everywhere, but it does put your rider in a position where he can move up the inside on the brakes
14:40and do the rest of it there.
14:41Other riders that are in the mix then.
14:43Hiden on the Kawasaki, Skinner, then Cook as well.
14:45Dan Kent has also had a decent start.
14:47He's seventh out of Haslam, Nesbitt.
14:49Inside the top ten, Glen Irwin.
14:51Yeah, remember Christian Hiden was coming back at the leading three when he slid off yesterday.
14:56Max Cook really picked up some speed late on as well.
14:59Yes, he did, yep.
15:00So he will have learned a lot from yesterday.
15:02And of course, these guys will have made changes to their machines overnight ahead of this one.
15:05But this is a 12-lap sprint as well.
15:07Tie life's not going to come into it.
15:09Yeah, well, if the move's coming for Reading on Ray, it would be there into Hawthorne.
15:13That's the favourite overtaking move for a Ducati.
15:17Now, just tipping into Westfield corner.
15:19This is where it went wrong for Brad Ray in the summer here.
15:22Yeah, great bit of track, lovely to ride.
15:25Really thrilling, quite frightening at times.
15:27Especially if you haven't got your bike working properly, but acting really hard on the front end.
15:30Not a lot of camber helping you there to drop right away from you.
15:33I thought Kyle was going to line up a move there into Sterling's, but doesn't for now.
15:39They all stay as they are on lap two of 12.
15:42We're about to come to the end of that.
15:43Through Clearway's corner, Brad Ray still leads from Scott Reddy.
15:46Oh, big eyesight for Christian Hiddens.
15:48Oh, that's a horrible place to be going down.
15:50Oh, deary me.
15:52We've seen a few of those.
15:54And Christian there, hopefully, he's not been collected.
15:57Do you know what?
15:57Yeah, I don't think he's been hit.
15:58And that was my thought, that was my worry when he disappeared off a shot there.
16:03There's plenty of people behind him.
16:04He didn't get hit.
16:05We've got confirmation of that.
16:06And that is so good to hear.
16:07Yes, it is.
16:08Because the moment that happened, James, me and you were thinking exactly the same thing.
16:12Yeah.
16:13A lot of bikes behind him, all packed together this early in the race.
16:16Goodness me, I hope Christian's all right.
16:18That's really unfortunate.
16:19He had some decent speed there.
16:20And that has formed a gap now behind Kyle Rise.
16:23Back to Skinner and Danny Kent.
16:25On to the back straight.
16:28Good opportunity here for Scott Redding.
16:30And the safety car has just come out.
16:31So Scott Redding's going to see that.
16:32He's just gone through on Brad Ray.
16:34But the safety car flag will be out.
16:36And I don't think Scott had seen it yet.
16:38I think Brad just has himself as well.
16:40Yeah.
16:41Brad saw it on the approach to the horse.
16:42I think Brad saw it.
16:43Which is why he eased off and what made it look like Scott at 10 miles an hour extra speed.
16:50I think he just saw the flag first.
16:52So safety car out here at Brands after that one.
16:56What they get in the circuits now, that it's not just old traditional flag signals from the Marshall Post to inform the riders what's going on from race control.
17:05It's actually, they use these light boards increasingly.
17:07These LED lights, yeah.
17:08And they put them in exactly the right spot.
17:10Whoever's sussing them, I'm sure they've got a rider.
17:12Oh, dear me.
17:13He's so tough, isn't he?
17:15He's so tough, isn't he?
17:16Strong lad.
17:17Yeah.
17:18Very.
17:19A round of applause there from the fans.
17:21It's a horrible place to go down.
17:23Because you're just constantly trying to...
17:25He's so keen, isn't he?
17:26You've got to get out of that corner.
17:27Well, there's a lot going on.
17:29The track drops away.
17:29There's also some little undulations that set the bike off.
17:32Have a look at this then.
17:33It's the five-fourth in your picture.
17:35Lime Green Kawasaki.
17:37Pink.
17:37And I tell you what, he was so lucky there, wasn't he?
17:42So lucky.
17:43So lucky.
17:43Inches away from getting clipped.
17:45It's right where the track drops, right into the dip.
17:49Yeah, that's...
17:51Even Christian, with all his experience,
17:53would have had much worse of eyesight than that.
17:56That's awful.
17:58And you know what?
17:59When it happens to you, you know it's going to hurt.
18:02You've got about a second and a half.
18:04We've got Danny Buchan behind me, and he's just nodding.
18:06You know what's coming.
18:08More than a few occasions, unfortunately, Danny.
18:11And right there, actually, for most of us.
18:13Time slows down as well,
18:14because there's that moment in when you're in the air,
18:16and you think, oh...
18:17You almost can start tasting that kind of blood in your mouth.
18:21Hospital food.
18:22With hospital...
18:22No, it's the stuff that clean your wounds with, isn't it?
18:25It's, what's it called?
18:26Surgical speed, I think.
18:29Oh, poor Christian.
18:31Right, safety car is coming in on this lap,
18:34but there's a few spots of rain on that camera lens.
18:36Yeah, we're talking about these lightboxes,
18:38just to finish off the conversation.
18:39They're using these LED boxes,
18:42about 18 inches square,
18:44showing the same corresponding colours as the flags,
18:48and whoever's sighting them are doing a good job.
18:50They're right in the eye line.
18:51You can't miss the flag signals now.
18:52So in comes the safety cars.
18:54Here comes Brad Ray now.
18:55Remember, their tyres would have cooled a bit,
18:57and it's a chilly day here at Brands as well.
18:59Yeah, I don't think that's much of an issue.
19:01It hasn't been out there too long.
19:02Someone's just gone down immediately at Clearways there.
19:05So we've already got a fallout,
19:07and that bike's in the fence as well.
19:09That's Leon Haslam who's gone down
19:11as the safety car pulled in.
19:13Kyle Ryders just pounced on Scott Redding,
19:15but with a bike up in the barrier,
19:16we might well have another safety car.
19:18Yeah, I agree.
19:19Into Druid we go,
19:20and Kyle thought about just popping through on Bradley Ray.
19:23So Kyle aggressive at the start of this one.
19:27Down into Graham Hill bent.
19:30Bit of a twitch from the rear there.
19:32He's up.
19:33Again, such a fast corner to be going down.
19:36Yeah, and another one of the older,
19:37but really tough riders has.
19:39Rory comes sliding up in.
19:41Oh!
19:42Leaves a bit of his leathers on the side of Scott Redding there,
19:47but he does go through into third place,
19:48and Danny Kent's with them as well.
19:50Brad Ray leads from Kyle Ryd.
19:52It has things stand 22 in it,
19:54so it would rumble on to the final race later on this afternoon.
19:56I'm guessing the Oxford products Ducati of Leon Haslam
20:00is just going to be left where it is, I guess.
20:03Yeah, possibly.
20:04We're going to find out.
20:04I mean, if there was a safety car going out,
20:06it would be about now we'd find out.
20:07Yeah, to be honest,
20:08what they worry about is the rectus hell fencing,
20:10the big foam fencing being moved now.
20:11I don't think it had.
20:12I think the bike was just perched on top of the tyres.
20:14Bradley Ray then.
20:15It is that Leeds now from Kyle Ryd.
20:18Brad's dad, Kev, will be preparing the pit board.
20:20There's the LED board, yep.
20:21Display the yellow, yep.
20:26Through clearways now, then, to complete lap 5 of 12.
20:30Remember, the laps continue to tick down
20:31whilst the safety car was out.
20:32Is Kyle right here going to be aggressive?
20:34He's up the inside.
20:35Brad Ray, though, is toughing it out.
20:37Oh, his back wheel almost touched the front of Kyle's.
20:39That was close, yep.
20:42And now Kyle again going through on Bradley Ray.
20:44Is he going to get his stop?
20:45Lovely move there from Kyle.
20:47He takes the lead into Truitt's.
20:48Wow.
20:51Since the safety car came in,
20:53Kyle really has got the gloves off.
20:55Yeah, Kyle looking back to this sprint race.
20:57Hang on.
20:58That's the crash for Leon.
20:59Yeah.
21:00Simple front end, maybe, like you said,
21:02maybe a little bit of heat gone from the front tyre.
21:05From the safety car.
21:07Brad Ray can't afford for Kyle Ryd to win this race.
21:10Kyle, of course,
21:12this championship would rumble on to the final race,
21:15but Brad has got to be ahead of Kyle,
21:17and he knows that.
21:18Yes, he has.
21:18He's got some company with him, though.
21:20Rory Skinner's got some speed there in third,
21:22and obviously we already know about Scott Redding.
21:24Kyle was really looking for the shorter race
21:25just because as the weight goes down,
21:28as the bike uses fuel,
21:30we're talking about 18 litres of fuel in longer races.
21:33That's a lot of weight.
21:35So 18, 20 litres is probably, what, 15, 16 kilos.
21:39That's quite a lot of weight.
21:40And you know the front of the bike,
21:42this mass centralisation,
21:43the tank is actually below the backside of the riders,
21:45but it still makes a difference,
21:46and Kyle likes the heavier bike.
21:49He doesn't like it when it gets lighter.
21:50Kyle also said yesterday,
21:51Oh, got another faller at clearways.
21:53This time Rory Skinner.
21:54Yep.
21:55Skinner goes down,
21:56but that's a pretty soft landing
21:58if you're going to have a fall.
21:59Absolutely.
22:00That's Clark Kerb.
22:01There's some little bumps going on there,
22:02some little choppy bumps,
22:04and I'm thinking that's what caused that.
22:07Another rider, though,
22:08that Brad Ray kind of needed in the frame
22:11if he was to win
22:11and get riders in between himself and Kyle.
22:14So Iden down,
22:15Haslam down,
22:16Skinner down.
22:17I'm going to say it this way,
22:17there'll be nobody else to get in between.
22:20Yeah, let's just see how...
22:22Skinner down.
22:23No, that went with the rear.
22:25That's miles after the choppy bumps.
22:27That's an unusual crack.
22:29That's a really unusual crack.
22:30I was just going to say,
22:31before we saw that moment,
22:32Kyle Ride suffered in the last four laps
22:34of yesterday's race,
22:34but with this shorter race,
22:36again,
22:36tyre life isn't going to be an issue.
22:37Yeah, he said the retail was fantastic.
22:40He said it was a front-end feel.
22:42He didn't have, yeah.
22:43And he put that down to the back end
22:45a little bit lighter towards the end
22:46with the fuel use.
22:48Let's recap, then.
22:48We've got Kyle Ride leading
22:50from Bradley Ray.
22:5035 for a win,
22:5230 for second.
22:52Scott Reading is in third,
22:53yesterday's winner.
22:54Then Danny Kent,
22:55he's got some speed.
22:56Max Cook fifth,
22:57Nesbitt sixth.
22:59And it's Irwin.
23:00Luke Hedger is in eighth
23:01as Brad comes through.
23:02Yeah, signature move for Brad,
23:04sets that up.
23:07Nicely done.
23:08Yeah.
23:08And cleanly done,
23:09it's really difficult
23:09to make that pass
23:10and have it clean.
23:12Into clear ways we go there.
23:13Brad Ray and Karl Ride.
23:15And yeah,
23:15on a couple of occasions this year
23:16if they really stood toe-to-toe.
23:18And Kyle Marr has got
23:19some supreme drive.
23:21Yeah.
23:21Will he have another look
23:22up the inside
23:23into Paddock Hill Bend?
23:24No, not on this occasion.
23:27Yeah, quick shout-out
23:28while we can
23:28to Luke Hedger
23:29who went over the line
23:31in eighth
23:31ahead of Tommy Pride
23:32and Lee Jackson.
23:33That's outstanding.
23:34So, into Druid.
23:35Scott Reading is just creeping
23:36a bit closer now
23:37on the Dicati.
23:38He is.
23:40Again, remember,
23:41he said he doesn't
23:42want to get involved in this.
23:43He'll let these two fights out.
23:44But if there was
23:44a clean opportunity
23:45for Scott to go through
23:46and he likes the move here
23:48into Sertis,
23:49not close enough
23:50on this occasion.
23:51Yeah, and I think
23:52he's going to have a look
23:52at Kyle going.
23:53Kyle's a little bit tighter there.
23:55That's left him less open
23:56to a pass at that point.
23:58I think this is where
23:59the pass is going to come
24:00if it is going to come.
24:01Yeah, watch the power now
24:02of that Hedger PBM Dicati.
24:03He pulls over to the inside,
24:04Scott Reading,
24:05but late on the breaks
24:06is Kyle.
24:06So, no chance there.
24:08No, Kyle's got really good
24:09mid-corner speed there
24:09all done.
24:11Particularly here as well
24:12through the series
24:13of right-handers.
24:15Yeah, Westfield,
24:16the track's dropping away.
24:17Lovely, better track.
24:18You've done a few laps
24:20in the safety car.
24:21Really enjoyed them, aren't you?
24:22Yeah, it's brilliant.
24:23Such a fantastic circuit.
24:25The undulations.
24:26Just hold on.
24:26I'll say it feels
24:27a lot safer from a car.
24:28It does at a moment.
24:30At that point.
24:32Lap 8 of 12.
24:33We're about to start lap 9.
24:35Remember, the gap was 27
24:36coming into this.
24:37So, as things stand,
24:38the gap would be down to 22
24:40going into the final race.
24:42I don't think Kyle
24:43would be upset with that
24:44because that really
24:45is a huge, huge gap
24:47to manage,
24:48but he does want
24:48to win the championship
24:49by winning a race.
24:50He does.
24:51I think he'd be
24:52reasonably happy
24:53if he could finish
24:54in front of Scott Reading.
24:54Two-thirds distance
24:56completed in this one.
24:57So, if a red flag
24:58were to come out,
24:58the race result
24:59would be declared.
25:01It's Ray, Ride,
25:02and Reading.
25:04Danny Kent's definitely
25:05made a step forward
25:05from yesterday as well.
25:06It's the Ma Train team's
25:08last outing
25:09and the McCams Yamaha rider
25:10is doing them proud
25:11at the moment.
25:14Then we've got
25:15this big group here
25:16all fighting it out.
25:17This is Hedger in seven.
25:21Glenn Irwin,
25:21Tommy Bridewell,
25:22Lee Bob Jackson,
25:23Storm Stacey,
25:24and John McPhee.
25:25You're right.
25:25Good ride from Hedger
25:26though so far.
25:27Yeah, fantastic
25:28on the Whitecliffe.
25:28CD8 racing Honda again.
25:30A little look
25:31from Scott Reading
25:32on car ride.
25:33Danny Kent,
25:34he's not too far off this.
25:35The last couple of laps
25:37and he's been getting quicker.
25:38He has, yeah.
25:41And Danny just wants
25:42to bow out with
25:43just a decent result
25:44and confidence.
25:46Yeah, well,
25:46that's all they can have.
25:47He's not going to do
25:48any more than that,
25:48is he, at this point?
25:49Our ride is closer here
25:50to Bradley Ray,
25:52but no move coming
25:53at Sterling's.
25:54We're about to start
25:55lap 10 of 12.
25:56You can see that
25:57Scott Reading
25:58is keen to get through,
25:59but what you said
26:00to him on the grid,
26:00he just doesn't want
26:01to take too much
26:02of a risk.
26:02He doesn't,
26:03with anybody.
26:03No one wants to be
26:04that guy.
26:05Correct.
26:05That wipes out
26:06a championship.
26:07Protagonist.
26:08Over the line again then
26:09for Brad Ray,
26:09number 28 and number one,
26:11Kyle Rydes.
26:11And again,
26:12Kyle Rydes,
26:12really good drive
26:14out of Clark Curve,
26:15but he can't get through
26:16on Brad into turn one.
26:19Is he having a look
26:19into Druids?
26:20Maybe.
26:21This has come off
26:21a few times for Kyle,
26:22yeah.
26:23Through he goes
26:24and he's always able.
26:25So impressive,
26:26Kyle Rydes,
26:27he's going to get it
26:27stopped and turned.
26:28Yeah, even if he's
26:29mid-corner speed
26:30is a little bit lower,
26:31he doesn't leave
26:32your man room
26:32to get back in.
26:34Now,
26:34will this favour
26:35Scott Reading
26:36because now he's got
26:37Brad Ray up ahead of him.
26:38He thinks Stan Reading
26:39will be on pole later,
26:40but let's keep our eyes
26:42on Scott Reading
26:42because he's a lot closer
26:43now to the two Yamahas.
26:44Is he going to get
26:45a double draft?
26:46from Ryde and Ray
26:48and we must keep an eye
26:49on Danny Kemp
26:49as well in four.
26:53Scott Reading,
26:54ooh,
26:55thinking about going through.
26:57Remember,
26:58if Kyle Rydes wins this one
26:59and Brad Ray were
27:00to finish four,
27:01Rydes would be champion.
27:02Yes.
27:10Brad Ray,
27:11where will he try
27:12and pounce now,
27:12where will he try
27:13and make his move?
27:14He's favoured moves
27:15into Hawthorne's,
27:16he's favoured moves here
27:16into Sterling's,
27:18but not on this lap.
27:19We're about to start
27:19the penultimate lap
27:20here at Brands Hatch.
27:21Remember,
27:22just one race left
27:23in the championship
27:24after this.
27:24Brad Ray
27:25has to take points
27:26off Kyle.
27:27He cannot afford
27:28to lose more ground
27:29in the title.
27:30as he comes through
27:31the area of this cause.
27:32Kent's with him now.
27:34I can see what sort
27:35of lap time this is
27:36from Kyle Rydes.
27:37It's been a decent lap
27:37from the defending champion,
27:39a 25.2 from him,
27:4125.1 for Danny Kent
27:43in fourth place
27:44on the McCams Yamaha.
27:48This is a good couple
27:52of laps for Kyle.
27:53Yes, he has.
27:54Brad's not able
27:54to get within a couple
27:56of bike lengths
27:56at Druids.
27:57Remember,
28:00yesterday,
28:01mid-race,
28:02Kyle had a lot of pace
28:03that dropped off
28:04slightly with that
28:04front-end feeling.
28:05He was missing
28:06towards the end,
28:07but he did go
28:09mid-race
28:10about this distance.
28:11Although,
28:12close to the tail
28:13of Kyle Rydes
28:13there from Brad Ray
28:14and now is it
28:15his turn to have
28:16maybe a look
28:16up the inside
28:18into Hawthorne's.
28:19Scott Redding
28:19is coming through
28:21and does go through.
28:22Brad was reluctant
28:23to allow him through,
28:24but he does
28:25and now Brad
28:26will want
28:27Scott to go
28:28straight through
28:29on Kyle Rydes.
28:29Yeah.
28:30Otherwise,
28:31this is massive
28:31for the championship.
28:33As it stands,
28:34this is huge.
28:35This would be
28:35one hand
28:36and a few fingers
28:37on that championship
28:38trophy for Kyle Rydes.
28:40There'll be some
28:41nervy times
28:41because we're about
28:42to come to the final lap.
28:44You'd have to think
28:45that Scott Redding
28:45thinks he can
28:46fairly swiftly get,
28:48and he's going to have
28:48to be.
28:49He's got one lap left.
28:50He said yesterday,
28:50I don't want to spend
28:51time in between them.
28:52I don't want to affect
28:53the championship like that.
28:55Live championship
28:56as it stands.
28:5635 in it
28:57with 35 available.
28:59Over the line
28:59then to start
29:00the final lap.
29:01Is this the moment
29:02for Kyle Rydes
29:03or is Scott Redding
29:03going to pounce?
29:04He can't get through
29:05at turn one.
29:06Right.
29:07The only place
29:07he's going to have to do it
29:08is either
29:09into Hawthorne's
29:10or down at Clearways.
29:12Brad Ray,
29:12what does he do?
29:13Does he try
29:14and have a nibble
29:15at Scott himself
29:15or does he try
29:16and allow Scott
29:17to do the damage?
29:18And Scott there,
29:19that might be it,
29:19you know.
29:20Oh,
29:20that was so well
29:22controlled and close
29:23to a crash
29:24for Scott Redding.
29:25Had that cost him
29:26the chance
29:26of going past
29:27Kyle Ryd
29:27on the back straight?
29:29Into Sertis now,
29:31pushing that front end.
29:32He's coming well.
29:33He's close enough.
29:35Out of Sertis,
29:37a bit of a twitch
29:37of his Hager PBM
29:38to Kati
29:39and now he winds it up.
29:40Does Kyle defend?
29:41Redding Kyle's got to defend.
29:43Here comes Scott Redding.
29:44He does go through
29:45on Kyle Ryd
29:46and Kyle lets him
29:47go through as well.
29:48Oh,
29:49does he?
29:50He's saying no,
29:50no,
29:51no.
29:51The wheel's torched.
29:52I want the win.
29:53Brad Ray then
29:54in third now
29:55can see Kyle Ryd
29:56up ahead
29:56and you know
29:57he's going to have
29:57a look somewhere.
29:58He has to do.
29:59He has to do.
30:00He's going to try
30:00and make it into Sterling's
30:01but Kyle himself
30:02has other ideas
30:04on maybe trying
30:05to get back through
30:05on Scott Redding.
30:06Look at Bradley Ray.
30:07Not close enough there.
30:09The last chance
30:09is going to be
30:10the last corner
30:11or a run to the line.
30:12Scott Redding
30:13has timed this
30:13to perfection.
30:14It looks like a double
30:15for the Hager PBM
30:16to Kati Ryd
30:17but what's Brad Ray
30:18got up his sleeve here?
30:20Can he get the run
30:20to the line?
30:21He has to get
30:21a good run to the line
30:22with a slip sleeve.
30:23He's not close enough.
30:24Scott Redding
30:25will win here
30:26but Kyle Ryd
30:26crucially
30:27take second
30:28with Brad Ray
30:29in third
30:29and that is huge
30:31for Kyle Ryd
30:32's championship.
30:32Yes, it is.
30:33Yes.
30:37Thumbs up
30:38from Nitrous Competitions
30:39Yamaha
30:39and rightly so
30:40because the gap
30:41will increase
30:42in the championship.
30:44You've got to think
30:44looking back
30:45that might be
30:45championship ride there.
30:47Well,
30:47it's up to 30 points again.
30:48There's only 35 on offer.
30:50Yep.
30:50Kyle doesn't make
30:51mistakes too often.
30:52He doesn't.
30:53Frustration there
30:54in the raceway
30:54Yamaha garage
30:55and they'll pick
30:56the bones out
30:57of that one
30:57but ultimately
30:58Kyle had to dig deep there.
31:01Was very aggressive
31:02in that race
31:03the defending champion
31:04as well.
31:05You've got to think
31:05that Brad now
31:07can feel this
31:08slipping away
31:08a little bit at least.
31:10Well,
31:10the only chance
31:11he's got now
31:11is winning
31:12and hoping
31:13that Kyle
31:14gets into
31:15some mischief somehow
31:16but feels unlikely
31:17but you never know
31:18with the weather as well
31:19we've got some rain
31:20maybe on the way.
31:21Hats off to Scott Reddick.
31:22That slide at Druid
31:24I cannot tell you
31:25how everybody's done it.
31:27I've crashed several times
31:28over the years
31:29and it's
31:29to save that
31:30and not lose
31:31a load of time
31:32and have it affect you
31:34for the rest of the life.
31:34He's still winning the race
31:34on that.
31:35That's still winning the race.
31:36Incredible.
31:38The place then
31:39for Bradley Ray
31:39he will be disappointed
31:40with that
31:41and it will be difficult
31:42to see too many smiles
31:44from Brad
31:44but there's an embrace
31:46from Tana
31:46that's Kyle's girlfriend
31:47and Sean Ryde
31:48Kyle's card
31:49who is definitely
31:50feeling it
31:51and he has all the time.
31:54Great camaraderie
31:54amongst all the teams there.
31:56I mean we say this
31:57every year
31:57this year particularly
31:59it's one of those
32:00you don't want to see
32:01either of them lose.
32:02They're both such good fellas.
32:04A really good crowd
32:05here as well
32:05at Brands today
32:06considering most people
32:08knew what the weather
32:08was going to do
32:09as well
32:09I'm quite surprised
32:10pleasantly surprised
32:11at how busy it is
32:12here at Brands today
32:14but it is a double
32:15for Scott Redding
32:16it's another 35 points
32:18for him as well.
32:19I'll tell you what
32:19you've got to think
32:20with a full season
32:21and a new decay.
32:23Oh, 100%.
32:24Yeah, he's going to
32:25protect some beating
32:26isn't it?
32:26It's now
32:27three races
32:29on the spin
32:29for Scott Redding.
32:32Let's see if we
32:33can catch the words here.
32:34from Brad to his crew
32:35chief.
32:38Have a shake of the head.
32:39But sometimes
32:40you can do in the mall.
32:43Can't be pleased with that.
32:45He looks like a lad
32:47that hadn't slept a lot
32:48this morning
32:48when I spoke to
32:49just stressed.
32:50He wasn't even
32:51he's not even bothered
32:51about celebrating
32:52that's just relief
32:53that.
32:54Scott Redding
32:55was having an early
32:57party yesterday
32:58celebrating his race
32:59victory
33:00another one there as well.
33:02He's not done the treble
33:03since he's come back
33:04so that's certainly
33:05on the cards for later
33:06and he prefers the
33:07longer races too
33:08but that slide out
33:10of Druids
33:11we'll have to see
33:12that again.
33:12So well controlled.
33:13Yeah, there's not
33:16a lot he can do
33:16with that
33:16just sick
33:17right
33:17I don't know
33:18he obviously
33:19got the skill
33:20but
33:20we were close
33:22to falling down
33:23then.
33:25Again look.
33:25Come on Jono!
33:27Such a character
33:28isn't he?
33:29Yeah.
33:29All right
33:31apologies for some
33:32of the language
33:32in here there
33:33but I mean
33:33it's Scott Redding
33:34what are you expecting?
33:36Let's have a look
33:37at this slide again
33:38then coming out
33:38Druids
33:38this is on the
33:39final lap
33:39James
33:39it's kind of
33:40middle
33:41it's just
33:41as you pick
33:42the throttle
33:42watch
33:42middle biking
33:43shot
33:43watch
33:44there it goes
33:46and he doesn't
33:48even snap back
33:49that to me
33:49says
33:49he's already
33:50cracked the throttle
33:51he's lifted
33:52he hasn't
33:52opened the throttle
33:53and all you can
33:55do
33:55is sit tight
33:56and hope
33:56it comes back
33:57you open the throttle
33:57you're going
33:58down low side
33:58you close the
33:59throttle
33:59you're going
33:59pinging over
34:00the high side
34:01so yeah
34:02good
34:02let's get the
34:06results and
34:06standings in
34:07for you then
34:07here at
34:07Brandtach
34:08we will go
34:09to the final
34:10race
34:10but this
34:11is crucial
34:12Scott Redding

34:19Danny Kef
34:19four
34:20some other
34:21riders
34:21definitely worth
34:22a mention
34:22but obviously
34:22given what's
34:23going on
34:23in the championship
34:24we barely
34:25saw them
34:25Nesbitt

34:35Brooksley

34:38and Scott
34:39Swan
34:39with one
34:42with one race
34:42to go
34:43this afternoon

34:55championship
34:55and Scott
34:56Redding
34:56is now
34:57up to
34:57fourth
34:58having missed
34:59the opening
34:59eight
34:59races
35:00yeah
35:00impressive
35:01further down
35:05Charlie
35:05Nesbitt
35:06is 11th
35:07overall
35:07with one
35:08race
35:08remaining
35:08ahead of
35:09Josh Brooks
35:09Glen Irwin
35:10Andy Irwin
35:11and Fraser
35:11Rogers
35:12so it's
35:21Redding
35:21Ride
35:22and Ray
35:22again
35:23in a
35:23slightly
35:24different
35:24order
35:24but it's
35:25Advantage
35:25Ride
35:26in the
35:26championship
35:26with one
35:27race
35:27to go
35:28we'll hear
35:28from the
35:28top three
35:29when we
35:29come back
35:29in a few
35:30minutes
35:30time
35:30well for
35:38the second
35:39time this
35:39weekend
35:40Scott
35:40Redding
35:41has taken
35:41victory
35:42ahead of
35:42Brad
35:42Ray
35:43and Kyle
35:44Ride
35:44but this
35:45time
35:45they finished
35:46the opposite
35:46way around
35:47and it's
35:47Ride
35:48who takes
35:48crucial points
35:49back
35:49from Brad
35:50in the
35:51chase
35:51for the
35:51championship
35:52let's get
35:53Brad's
35:53thoughts
35:53now
35:53he's with
35:54Grace
35:54Brad Ray
35:56third position
35:57there
35:57that looked
35:58like a
35:58tough race
35:59just talk
36:00us through
36:00that one
36:00Brad
36:01yeah
36:01it was
36:02everything
36:03was under
36:03control
36:03to be
36:03honest
36:04felt
36:04comfortable
36:05out there
36:05felt
36:05okay
36:06Kyle
36:06kept
36:07trying to
36:07get the
36:07lead
36:08because
36:08obviously
36:08the
36:08conditions
36:09didn't
36:09know
36:09if it was
36:09going to
36:11lead
36:11Kyle
36:12passed
36:12me
36:12I
36:12kept
36:12passing
36:13him
36:13back
36:13and
36:13yeah
36:15a few
36:15laps
36:15to go
36:16I had
36:16one place
36:16that I
36:16could
36:17pass
36:17Kyle
36:17that I
36:17was
36:17strong
36:17in
36:18one part
36:19of the
36:19track
36:19and
36:20was
36:21just
36:21sitting
36:21there
36:21quite
36:22comfortably
36:22and then
36:22Scott
36:22come
36:23past
36:23and
36:23yeah
36:24just
36:24didn't
36:26have a
36:26chance
36:27to
36:27have
36:28a
36:28dig
36:28at
36:28Kyle
36:28unfortunately
36:29which
36:31is
36:31a bit
36:32frustrating
36:32but
36:32yeah
36:33the
36:33last
36:34lap
36:34tried
36:34to
36:34have
36:35a
36:35go
36:35on
36:35Kyle
36:35but
36:36it
36:36seemed
36:41a bit
36:41of a
36:41shame
36:42but
36:42hey
36:42that's
36:43racing
36:43still
36:43on the
36:44podium
36:44and we've
36:44got one
36:44more to
36:45go
36:45one more
36:46to go
36:46one more
36:46chance
36:47what are
36:47your thoughts
36:47going into
36:48that one
36:48Brad
36:48just give
36:49it all
36:50we've got
36:50nothing to
36:51lose
36:51now
36:51we're
36:52guaranteed
36:52second
36:53in the
36:53championship
36:53I've
36:55basically
36:55got a
36:55win or
36:56finish
36:56second
36:56and
36:56Kyle
36:56has a
36:57DNF
36:57that's
36:57mathematically
36:59what's
36:59going to
36:59happen
36:59so
37:00yeah
37:01bit of a
37:02shame
37:02but
37:02we'll
37:02keep
37:03fighting
37:03congratulations
37:04on this
37:05one
37:05all the
37:05best
37:05for the
37:05next
37:06and
37:07second
37:07place
37:08goes to
37:08Kyle
37:08Ryde
37:09a
37:09solid
37:09second
37:10place
37:11there
37:11Kyle
37:11points
37:12in the
37:12bag
37:12but
37:13crucially
37:13ahead
37:14of
37:14Brad
37:14are you
37:15happy
37:15with
37:15that
37:15one
37:15yeah
37:16that
37:16was
37:16the
37:16main
37:16objective
37:17I thought
37:17if I have a
37:17sniff at
37:18Brad
37:18I'll have
37:18a go
37:18if it was a
37:2012 lap race
37:20yesterday I felt
37:21like I could have
37:21had a good chance
37:22of beating him
37:23but I ran out of steam
37:24at the end with four laps
37:24to go as we spoke
37:25about yesterday but
37:26those 12 laps there
37:27I really felt like I could
37:28do a good job
37:29going on to the back
37:30straight on the last lap
37:31I thought I've got this
37:32but the big red thing
37:33passed me down the back
37:34straight and yeah
37:36it was lucky really
37:37I nearly squared him off
37:38and ran into the back
37:38of him
37:39so I knew it was only
37:40second and then I just
37:41started to defend
37:42from Brad to secure
37:44those three points
37:44I lost from yesterday
37:45so yeah great job
37:46from my team
37:47warm up was amazing
37:47and that race was
37:48mega so yeah
37:49roll on later
37:50really good job
37:51Kyle
37:51congratulations
37:52and first position
37:55goes to Scott
37:57Redding
37:57several really good
37:59passes there
38:00Scott
38:00but it was close
38:01racing out there
38:02how was it for you
38:03yeah I was doing
38:04the passing
38:05and I was getting
38:06passed
38:06and yeah
38:07them boys give
38:08no mercy to me
38:09today
38:09when Rory passed
38:10we had two good
38:11digs in the same
38:12corner
38:13and my helmet
38:14actually got a little
38:15bit stuck on the
38:15wing
38:16I was like
38:17come on bro
38:17there's grass coming
38:18up so I had to
38:19let him through
38:19I mean we're all
38:20racing against each
38:20other
38:21it was clean
38:22for what it was
38:23but it did rile
38:24me up a little bit
38:25I thought okay
38:25now we've got to
38:26go for it
38:26he had a crash
38:27in the final corner
38:28spooked me a little
38:29bit
38:29hopefully he's okay
38:30I think there's
38:31another crash there
38:31it's not a nice
38:32place to go down
38:33and it kind of put
38:34me off a little bit
38:35because I feel
38:36that's my weak point
38:37and I'm always
38:38trying to overachieve
38:39there so
38:39Rory learnt my
38:41lesson should we say
38:42so we had to
38:43adapt in the race
38:44safety car made it
38:45difficult for me
38:46again
38:46I ran wide into
38:47turn one
38:48but it came to
38:50that again
38:50do I try and pass
38:51both and get the
38:52win or do I sit in
38:53third and I was
38:54thinking third might
38:54have to be
38:55and then I
38:56thought you know
38:56what there is
38:57some prize money
38:58on the line and
38:58we are here to
38:59win races so as
39:00long as I'm not
39:00in between them
39:01I'm going to go
39:02for it I made
39:02two good nice
39:04clean moves and
39:05got the victory
39:05and like you said
39:07Skinner did go
39:08down in that one
39:09we had a couple
39:10of others go
39:10down your bike
39:11looked to be
39:12moving around as
39:13well what were
39:13the conditions
39:14like in that
39:14race
39:14yeah because of
39:16this colder
39:16condition the
39:17tyres don't like
39:18a safety car for
39:18anyone worse for
39:19the Ducat as I
39:20would say and
39:22just in general on
39:23the edge with the
39:23track temperature for
39:24the good grip so
39:26it's a little bit
39:26more sharp when it
39:27goes gives less
39:28warning so you've
39:29got to keep that in
39:30mind and just try and
39:31ride as smooth as
39:32possible
39:32well two wins in the
39:34bag Scott another
39:34one for later do you
39:35reckon we'll see what
39:37the rain says but the
39:38comeback kid came back
39:40today and we'll see
39:40this afternoon
39:41congratulations Scott
39:42cheers
39:43yeah he definitely
39:45wants it doesn't he
39:46this weekend the
39:46comeback kid a lot to
39:48pick apart from that
39:49race we'll start with
39:50Scott actually then it
39:51seems like he's keen to
39:52lay down a marker
39:53potentially for next
39:54season James the
39:55wins are obviously
39:55there for him and he's
39:56committed to taking
39:57them yeah and you
39:58can't blame him he
39:59writes a different
40:00manufacturer it's you
40:01know the championship
40:01he's got to do the
40:02best job he can do
40:03which is what he's
40:04doing and this is him
40:05coming up the inside of
40:06Brad and you saw how
40:07much Brad fought that
40:09to the last moment
40:09because he thought up
40:11until then there was
40:11only a couple laps to go
40:12he could win that and
40:13he had his own plan and
40:14Scott kind of scuppered
40:16that for him but you
40:17know that was you know
40:18that's what he's allowed
40:19to do that's my point but
40:21it's just that you could
40:21see how disappointed
40:22Brad because he thought
40:23okay I've got him here
40:24and actually he wasn't
40:25expecting Scott to come
40:26through then but I think
40:28Scott then did the great
40:29thing by coming past them
40:30both and getting the win
40:31but for Brad it was
40:32probably the timing of it
40:33John wasn't it you know
40:34that really scuppered it
40:35for him yeah definitely I
40:37mean the throttle control
40:38that Redding had there
40:40was unbelievable that
40:41slide there in Druids
40:42that was unbelievable you
40:44know he just cracked the
40:45throttle you could say I
40:47was I was watching it
40:48from the beginning I could
40:48see the Ducatis were
40:52struggling with grip you
40:53could see it with Rory we
40:53were saying it when we were
40:54watching that and you can
40:55see they were struggling
40:56with grip and I said even
40:57like when Scott said right
40:59there when the safety car
41:00comes out those tire
41:01temperatures go down those
41:02Ducatis are so stiff the
41:03chassis are so stiff you've
41:04got to be careful of that
41:05you've got to be weary of
41:06it especially on the left
41:07handers here but yeah great
41:09ride from Scott though and
41:10you know the championship does
41:11stay alive but the points
41:13you know not we would like to
41:14have seen it close but we'll
41:16see it close but we'll see
41:18well it might be the end of
41:20the season but for Scott
41:21Redding you feel the
41:22comeback might just be
41:23starting Steve yeah
41:25absolutely I think Witt's
41:26absolutely right Scott
41:27Redding on a brand new
41:28Ducati next year for a full
41:30season looks like he might
41:31take some stopping we've
41:32got a mouth-watering 2026
41:34season ahead but let's call
41:36what we have in front of us
41:37for now I can't recall having
41:39seen Brad Ray look quite as
41:41frustrated as he looks right
41:43now and that's
41:44understandable does feel like
41:46the championship perhaps just
41:48now has slipped away that said
41:50it's another podium for Brad
41:5254th of his career car ride
41:55another really important second
41:57place for him that's huge for
41:58the championship but it's now
42:0151 races 32 podiums and an
42:0318th BSB win for the comeback
42:06kid and he is now on the brink of
42:09his first ever Bennett's BSB
42:11treble which will be coming up
42:12later on the title still to be
42:14decided and it will be all eyes
42:17on the sky time for the
42:18national anthem for race
42:18winners Scott Redding
42:19after day 8 the couple storm
42:26in total
42:26to Henrys
42:27Eagles
42:27oh
42:282024
42:28now
42:29in 42
42:30I know
42:31this is a big
42:34deal
42:34but it Bo
42:35for this
42:37year
42:38year
42:38late
42:39I know
42:39but it was an
42:41early
42:42year
42:43so
42:43in
42:44the clash of the champions continues later on ride versus ray but here at brand so far
43:02it's two from two scotty's too hotty he certainly is yeah brilliant uh brilliant ride from scott
43:11reading and now it all goes down to this final race this afternoon where it looks like it's going
43:15to be wet the rain is starting right now in in pit lane we're expecting it to get stronger uh james
43:21just made your way down from all the way up there in the uh in the commentary box yep uh let's go
43:25through it then let's go back to the start brad had a plan he kind of bodged it yesterday off the
43:30start but he nailed it today absolutely nailed the launch today and he did exactly what he had to do
43:35it broke into a group of three uh danny kent i was really impressed with came back a little bit
43:40towards him but really kyle by even by now kyle's kind of in the driving seat if he can stay on the
43:47bike and i don't even think kyle is that bothered about scott ready scott can get in front of the
43:52pair of them that's fine leaves them to a straight fight i thought that the shorter race would suit
43:57kyle he said to me uh last night that as the fuel load goes down the bike gets lighter and unusually
44:03doesn't like that don't that's going to be a good thing but he said he fancied the shorter race and
44:07he's just sneaking towards that championship now kyle not bothered about scott ready james but he is
44:14bothered about brad ray and he wants to beat him on track i think we know with all the history that
44:19they've got together whatever happens this weekend you know he's not settling for just sitting behind
44:24brad in all three races he clearly and he made that clear after the safety car went went into there
44:29yeah because he didn't have to push that you know we know he doesn't have to push quite that hard he's
44:33he's got this advantage but this is him making that move on scott ready uh into paddock and he really
44:39toughs it out there to to get it stuck and i think you know this is him sort of going past sort of brad
44:44and you there's no two eight about sorry that's the one where he shods the nose and that was so close
44:50so close that was uh that was sort of heart in the mouth stuff but he stepped straight back again
44:55to uh to take the lead which was impressive i wasn't expecting him to kind of to do that in some
45:01ways to fight that hard did you let's see the where he nearly clicked the back of scott ready now
45:07hold on that was a lot that would have felt not so good sound kyle's bike i'll tell you that's
45:11when scott made the pass on kyle yeah kyle can have let the brakes i would try to square it off
45:16but nearly clipped there's only one way that's going to end yeah thankfully it didn't end that
45:21way and and actually john we talk about it being frustrating for brad and unfortunate the timing of
45:26scott's pass on him but it was only because kyle was in front of him at that point that it wasn't
45:30the other way around no you've got to credit kyle for that exactly no kyle rode that perfectly
45:35he is riding like a champion right now he wants to go out there and win it and if there was a race
45:39to do it that was the race to do it because this one this afternoon he's just got to go out there
45:45and finish keep the points but we know kyle he's riding out there confidently he wants to win he
45:51wants to beat these guys and show that he is the true champion but more than all that he knows
45:56rain's coming will know rain's coming it's coming now he's forecast he's coming he's definitely
46:00going to be and i think kyle knew especially the shorter race that he definitely had an advantage
46:05if you saw the race yesterday mid-race which is the the distance of the sprint race
46:10he definitely had an advantage that went away towards the end so he knew if he were going to
46:15have anything of an advantage going into race three he had to do it in race two exactly
46:19daddy kent almost got himself involved in that fight as well at the end there james
46:24interesting or would have been if you'd have you know perhaps made a little bit more ground up sooner
46:28yeah that's right he kind of just kind of ebbed and flowed a little bit for him but it was much
46:33better to see look we know what quality is and you know it's been a shame with him missing all park
46:37and whatever so it was important he comes back and you know just rediscovers his mojo before the season
46:42ends i think that's really always important for a rider to finish well yeah yeah for christian
46:47hidden unfortunately john well fortunately it's one of those i mean you can look at it either way he
46:51was very lucky to get away with it yeah that could have been a lot lot worse i mean he's coming out
46:56of here obviously cracks the throttle really hard steps out and just slams you from that point when
47:02you're sliding you're just hoping no other rider hits you he got super lucky not to get hit kent
47:07just misses him there just misses him yeah and that's i was saying to matt there that is the one thing
47:12about racing i do not miss is that that height and that slam and that roll can you just remember
47:19think back and it's happened to us all several times that point in midway there's no pain yet but you
47:24know it's coming it's exactly what i was telling matt you have no pain until you actually stop ragdolling
47:30and then that's when you're like oh that hurt yeah well hopefully it didn't hurt too bad for christian
47:36and he's back on his feet because actually these conditions will suit someone like him and others
47:41to get involved in the mix at the front in race three yeah i think so i think uh if you look at the
47:45championship i think kyle's i think what he did in that race you've just seen race two might prove
47:50really important if we get uh this kind of weather coming in brad needs it knows he needs to go out
47:55and win or finish second and even then he needs kyle not to finish so and i think then he'd only win
48:00by a count back okay uh race three is still to come it will decide the outcome of this championship
48:06it's uh coming at around half past three obviously uh schedule a little bit in flux because of the
48:11conditions here elsewhere the champions league returns with match day three from uh tuesday we'll have
48:1717 matches exclusively live for you on tnt sports including frankfurt against liverpool
48:22and chelsea taking on ajax we'll also have every match from the uefa europa league and conference
48:28league on thursday next weekend we bring you the first ever televised match from the opening round
48:32of the adobe women's fa cup with middlesbrough against cheedle town liverpool then travel to brentford
48:38in the premier league from 7 p.m next saturday and it's not long now until the first round of the
48:44emirates fa cup eight matches live across the weekend of the 31st of october to the third of
48:50november so the rain starts to fall here at brands actually looks like it's going to be a wet one for
48:57our next race it's the sport bikes it's coming up after the break
49:00team owner nigel of the ajn steelstock kawasaki team we can see just behind you all hands are on deck of
49:12christian's bike unfortunately he had a huge high side coming on to the start finish straight just
49:18talk us through that race from your eyes at the team yeah well obviously the boys got a reasonable
49:22start and they were in position uh for a decent sprint race and then only one green bike came
49:30through and we knew christian had gone immediately and when it came on the screen it was horrible
49:35the worst of it was not so much for christian was his bike only just missed collecting max and
49:44and danny kent's bike which was a worry but fortunately they got through and bless him the first thing max said
49:49when he got off the bike when he came in was house christian i think that made him a bit cautious
49:54clearly the grip isn't there today the same way as yesterday we saw leon haslam had a problem there
50:01rory skinner had a problem there and max reported that the grip was definitely intermediate so we were
50:09initially worried about christian's back because he came right down on his pelvis we just had a report
50:15from the medical center they're going to whip him off to the hospital they want to give him
50:19a scan because he seems very concussed they think his back's not too bad he's sat up in bed
50:26but clearly he's had a big bang on the head and meanwhile max soldiered on another great top six
50:33finish but i definitely think seeing his teammate go down that hard probably took the edge off of his
50:40race so we wish christian well and hopefully we'll have good news later but i think the bike's going to
50:47be on its stands for race three which is a very sad end to its season well thank you so much for that
50:53update and please wish him well from all of us thanks my pleasure thanks grace
