00:00A man was killed after a tree crashed onto his vehicle during heavy rain in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday evening.
00:08The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said the incident occurred between 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.,
00:15when strong winds and thunderstorms uprooted several trees across the city.
00:19At Hartamas Regency, Persiaran Dutamas, a 40-year-old man, was confirmed dead after a tree fell onto his car.
00:28Two other vehicles were also damaged.
00:31In a separate incident at Jalan Metro Prima in Kepongbaru, a woman sustained injuries when another tree collapsed nearby.
00:38Firefighters from the Shri Hartamas and Jinjang stations were deployed to both locations to carry out rescue and clean-up operations.
00:47The Fire and Rescue Department said it remains on high alert, as more thunderstorms are expected in the coming days.
