US President Donald Trump flew out of the United States on Oct 24, heading to Kuala Lumpur for the 47th ASEAN Leaders' Summit. He is due to arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 26 on the first stop of his trip through Asia. 00:24Trump will also visit Japan from October 27 to 29 and South Korea for the APEC Summit

00:30in what is his first to the region and longest journey abroad since taking office in January.

00:36Before leaving the U.S., Trump said he will be meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in

00:41Korea about trade and other things.

00:44We want to take care of our farmers.

00:46We have a lot to talk about with President Xi and he has a lot to talk about with us.

00:51I think we'll have a good meeting.

00:53Both the U.S. and China are looking to find a way forward after the U.S. threatened new

00:58100% tariffs on Chinese goods into the country and other trade curbs starting November 1 in

01:06retaliation for China's expanded export controls on rare earth magnets and minerals.

01:12Meanwhile, trade negotiators from China and the U.S. were meeting in Kuala Lumpur for a

01:17new round of trade talks to defuse the rift.

01:20Chinese Vice Premier, Hur Li Feng, is leading the Chinese delegation while the U.S. team
