00:00You know, some people still talk about the streaming wars like it's streaming versus cable.
00:04Uh, honey, cable left the battlefield ages ago.
00:06This is streaming versus streaming, and it's an all-out brawl.
00:10Cable? Never heard of her.
00:11She's the one who RSVP'd to the party she wasn't even invited to.
00:14Cable viewership has dropped by nearly 40% since 2021,
00:17accounting for only 24% of total TV viewership.
00:21I mean, it's 2025! Most cable providers have gone fully digital.
00:25DirecTV, Comcast, Dish, they're all playing for Team Stream whether they like it or not.
00:29A recent survey found that nearly 90% of U.S. adults stream content,
00:33but we didn't exactly trade cable for simplicity.
00:35We traded it for 12 different platforms, 19 different passwords,
00:39and enough monthly charges to fund a small nation.
00:41Prices are rising, content is more fragmented than ever,
00:44and statistically, 50% of Americans are subscribed to three or more streaming services at a time.
00:49Think about the last time a friend recommended a series to you,
00:52but it's on Apple TV, and you don't have Apple TV.
00:54So you cancel Netflix to get Apple TV,
00:56but then you run out of things to watch on Apple TV,
00:58so you go back to Netflix and then it all goes...
01:00Not to mention, if you add up subscription prices for the top four streaming services,
01:04Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Disney Plus,
01:07it's nearly the same price as your average cable subscription.
01:10And the cycle continues.
01:12What do we do?
01:13Cancel?
01:13Add another?
01:14Mooch off your cousin's login?
01:16Cut the cord?
01:17Move off the grid?
01:18Shave your head?
01:19But what do you think?
01:20Is streaming a relief from all the channel flipping,
01:22or are you like 30% of Americans who have subscription fatigue?
