The Five (Full Episode) | October 27, 2025
Transcript
00:00Hello, everyone. I'm Dana Perino, along with Katie Pavlitt, Harold Ford Jr., Jesse
00:07Waters and Greg Gutfeld. It's five o'clock in New York City, and this is The Pop.
00:17Democrats hoping to turn the page for 2028 could be haunted by ghosts of candidates past.
00:22Kamala Harris hinting at another presidential run.
00:25You say in your book, I'm not done. That is correct. I am not done. There are many ways to
00:32serve. I've not decided yet what I will do in the future. When you look at the bookies' odds,
00:38they put you as an outsider, even behind Dwayne the Rock Johnson. I mean, is that underestimating you?
00:48I think there are all kinds of polls that will tell you a variety of things. I've never listened
00:53to polls. Gavin Newsom also chiming in. The California governor says he's interested in
00:58running for the top job, but he's going to wait until after the midterm to decide.
01:02And on a podcast, Newsom cursing like a sailor and facing criticism for how he described
01:06growing up in a single-parent household with a mom who worked multiple jobs.
01:11It was also about paying the bills, man. And it was just like hustling. And so I was out there
01:18kind of raising myself, turning on the TV, started, you know, just getting obsessed,
01:24you know, sitting there with the, you know, the wonder bread and organizing a response to what's
01:29happening in this country and organizing people to feel empowered, to give them a voice, to give us
01:36choice, and to be able to push back against this son of a**. These guys are a** around. I know.
01:41They're not a** around. And so we have to get a** together.
01:47Newsom and Kamala better be ready for Eric Swalwell's, Swalwell, what's his name? Who cares?
01:52Swalwell.
01:532028 litmus test. He says every Democratic candidate needs to pledge to wreck Trump's ballroom on day one,
01:58which could be preposterous. Jesse, let me go to you first. Gavin versus Kamala, 2028. Are you
02:07feeling it? I love it. I like how she's like, I'm not done. She's not done losing. She is trying
02:14to be seductive and like tantalize us. Like I might run. I might run. No one cares. No one is on the
02:19edge of their seats waiting to find out if Kamala is going to run again. And Gavin's like, cowabunga.
02:26He's like, I'm in. I've always been in. And you know what? JD Vance is not poor. I'm poor.
02:32I'm the Beverly Hillbilly. It's going to be funny to hear Gavin Newsom say that he had no white
02:39privilege to Kamala's face in the debate. And that debate's going to be a problem for her because
02:45here's her issue. She can't attack Newsom's record in California because she was in California the
02:51whole time. She was senator. She was attorney general. She was in the White House when California
02:56was collapsing. So anything she says about Gavin's record in California, it's on her too. Now his
03:03problem is the DEI landmine, gender, race, class. He's going to be stepping in it and it's just going
03:11to be blowing up in his face. Swalwell's stupid. Do you imagine Eisenhower saying on day one,
03:17I will tear down the Truman balcony? I can see this being a question like an MSNBC debate.
03:24What will you do to the ball? Will you wreck the ballroom on day one? If I'm Kamala, I say,
03:30no, we're tearing down the wall. We're keeping the ballroom because Democrats can party. And Rachel,
03:36you're invited. We're going to have Beyonce, just like she told everybody Beyonce was coming to the
03:41DNC just to get everybody to show up. I do remember that. The thing about Gavin Newsom,
03:47Greg, is that in a way he is a lot like Kamala, that he can be anybody depending on which podcast he
03:54goes on. Well, you know what? It's another thing, a problem I have with our producers. They left out
03:58the best part of the whole podcast. The part where he talks about being a small-time boxer from
04:03working-class Philadelphia. And he's arbitrarily chosen to fight this heavyweight champ, Apollo
04:09Creed. That's how he met his wife, Adrienne. But he loses and then he gets a rematch and it sets
04:14him up for a fight with this very, very intimidating challenger, Clubber Lang. Who does he go back for help?
04:20Apollo Creed. It's an amazing story. Again, why shouldn't he say all that? He assumes that nobody
04:28checks. Nobody goes on Google and finds out you can be a rich latchkey kid. Your dad worked for
04:36Getty Oil. You lived in Marin County. Didn't he start a liquor store, a wine store and a winery at age 25?
04:48These are things that basically I really didn't do. I had somebody else Google it because I have to
04:54keep my fingers fresh. But anyway, he assumes he can create this humble upbringing because
05:00nobody knows how to use the internet. Kamala thinks she can hop right back in because nobody knows how
05:08to use the internet and see her embarrassing word ambrosia salad. Swalwell assumes no one knows he
05:15banged a Chinese spy and that he farts not on command. He reminds me of the guy when you take
05:21like a tour guide thing on vacation. He's the guy who wants to be in charge. And it's like, just shut
05:27up. Leave us alone. He's asking all the questions. It seems like they're all the Democrats are banking
05:33on ignorance and laziness for their for their success. If people don't check, they're good.
05:39So it's time for an analogy. I haven't done one in a while. The Democratic Party reminds me of the
05:46tobacco industry up until the 1960s. The doctors could be paid to say whatever they want. You know
05:52what? Smoking can help clear your lungs. Did you know that they would say that? But then the research
05:57broke free. The link between tar and and cancer was definitive. And suddenly the tobacco industry
06:04had to put warnings on their product. This will kill you. I think the Democrat now has a working
06:11warning that says warning. This is the party that lied to you about a competent president.
06:18They lied about some other things, but that's the big one they have an answer to. If you believe in
06:23anything they say, you're going to look really stupid. I'm going to save Harold for last and go to
06:29Katie next. One of the things for Kamala Harris on this book tour is that as soon as she says,
06:35no, I'm not running for 2028, no one's going to book her again. Right. All the speaking gigs dry up,
06:40all the opportunities to be on boards, they dry up. So she has to keep up the charade.
06:46Charade. Right. I mean, if she decides to run in 2028, it keeps Democrats in this place where they're
06:53trying to move forward with new candidates and leave the Biden years and the reputation of lying about
06:58what happened in the White House behind. They can't do that as she continues on this book tour,
07:03talking about herself, talking how she's keeping the door open. But it just highlights this idea
07:07that in politics, shame is lacking in so many areas. I mean, there's there's no embarrassment
07:12here about acknowledging that she lost every single swing state, lost the popular vote to the most evil
07:18president that America has ever had. And yet she is fine with going out and shamelessly saying
07:24she's willing to run again on what record, on a record of never getting a vote in the first
07:29primary, of being installed as a nominee and losing. And when it comes to what they're doing
07:35for the primary moving forward with Gavin Newsom, it's going to get very ugly because they're going
07:39to actually have to have one this time. They're not going to be able to sue and keep all these other
07:42people off the ballots. They're going to have to go through this dirty laundry and they're going to
07:46have to because it's an exercise. But that's just the way it's going to be for them. It's going to be
07:51awful. One thing about the ballroom, Democrats reputation over the past 10, 15 years has been
07:57tearing things down. Here you have a president who is wanting to build a ballroom. He offered
08:01to build for Barack Obama to celebrate America in order to host foreign dignitaries in the capital
08:07of the United States of America, the capital of the world. And Democrats, if they were smart,
08:11would say, of course, we're not going to tear down the ballroom. We're going to host parties
08:15celebrating America in the ballroom that the president is giving us. And we should be glad about that.
08:20They keep tearing things down instead of running on a platform of building things up.
08:24And that's only going to force people who have been pushed away from the party even further to
08:29the Republican column. Harold Ford Jr., should you become president of the United States? Will you
08:34host a ball and invite us all? First off, you all have been very kind to me the last several days.
08:38Thank you. I'd say a couple of things about this. And everyone's made the point about Kamala Harris.
08:46We have to remember, Democrats should remember, no Democrat running for president in the last two
08:50decades or so, has lost the popular vote. She did. She will have to run a very different campaign
08:56if she runs again. And she has every right to entertain the idea and talk about it. I think
09:00you, as usual, Dana said it right. DP said it right. She has to talk about these things
09:04in certain ways, same way that I think President Trump can't try to endorse or anoint anyone to
09:09come behind him because it inevitably, invariably, decreases your power. Two, I would say to Gavin
09:16Newsom to Kamala Harris, other Democrats thinking about running. Talk about the issues again. Here
09:22we are at a time in which Amazon, one of the most important companies in the world, has announced
09:27it's going to lay off 30,000 corporate jobs or cut corporate jobs at the company. It's already said
09:32it thinks it's going to need 150,000 to 175,000 fewer humans working in their fulfillment centers
09:38because of AI and robotics. Why not figure out ways as you travel the country, ways in which to come up
09:44with solutions and answers, people who are being innovative and creative about how we address and
09:48how we accommodate and how we deal with what's going to happen the next year to five years. It
09:53used to be five years, but we're 12 to 24 months out from some of these dramatic things happening in
09:58the workforce. These are the ideas and the answers that I think voters want to hear, whether it be
10:02crime or health care, cost of living. We have a mayor's race here in New York, which I think we'll
10:06get to a little bit later, where affordability is what they're talking about. But the answers,
10:10a lot of Democrats don't like the answers that Mr. Madami's giving. Come up with those. The idea
10:15of a litmus test about a ballroom is one of the more asinine things that I've heard, not just because
10:20of what Katie and others have said about building up or tearing down. That won't be an issue on an
10:25everyday voter's mind who has to pay more for health care. That won't be on anyone's mind who's
10:29concerned about geopolitics, foreign policy, for that matter, the everyday inflation that they're facing
10:34in their lives. The issues are right before us. But if you keep swinging at every fastball outside of
10:39the range, outside of the pitching range, we're going to continue to be in the minority. And that
10:45is disappointing. But can I ask you again, if you become president, will you and Emily invite us
10:49to the ball? Thank you again for the kind words the last few days I have. I'm going to take that as a yes.
10:55Okay, coming up, Donald Trump and cutting deals during his trip in Asia.
11:09The deals are lining up for the dancing Don as he's talking peace and trade today. Orange Godzilla's
11:22in Japan. He met with the emperor and tonight he'll hang out with the new prime minister,
11:26a heavy metal drummer. Yesterday, 47 broke it down when he landed in Malaysia and signed yet another
11:32peace deal. This is one of eight wars that my administration has ended in just eight months.
11:39We're averaging one a month. There is only one left. Although I heard that Pakistan and Afghanistan
11:45have started up, but I'll get that solved very quickly. It's like I shouldn't say it's a hobby
11:50because it's so much more serious than a hobby, but it's something that I'm good at and it's something
11:55I love to do. What's next? Well, Trump says the deal is in the works with China
12:00and he might make a pit stop in North Korea. I'd love to meet with him if he'd like to meet.
12:07I got along great with Kim Jong-un. I liked him. He liked me. If he wants to meet, I'll be in South
12:12Korea. Would you extend your trip in Asia in order to meet with him? Well, I hadn't thought of it, but
12:17I think he had to with me. Yeah, I would do that. Sure. It's our last stop. So it's pretty easy to do.
12:25Katie, do you remember the good old days when Trump, what we were told by the media and Democrats
12:32that Trump was a laughingstock of the globe, but I seem to remember it was only them saying it. It
12:37wasn't really the globe. No, it wasn't the globe. They also said he was going to start World War III.
12:42Yes. He really wanted to do all the things we've seen complete the opposite. I love the new Japanese
12:47prime minister. As you mentioned, she's a heavy metal drum player. She also rides a motorcycle.
12:52And as the first female of that country in that position, she is a conservative, which is pretty
12:57great. In terms of the president's trips, he's been talking all about these peace deals. He's been
13:03able to get on the table, which is obviously very important. But when you look at the details of what
13:07he's able to pull in for the United States, billions of dollars in agricultural products,
13:11billions of dollars in American energy, including natural liquefied natural gas. So he's not only
13:17putting the America first agenda on the global stage, both by ending wars, promoting economics,
13:23but he's also allowing for these local economies to thrive on American, the American economy and
13:29commerce. And in that part of the world, when China is constantly bullying people to come into
13:34their communist corner, he's proving that you can go in and offer the American economy and the things
13:39that we have to offer them as a partnership, not only for the people who are working there,
13:44but also to maintain this peace that they were not having previously.
13:49Can you roll that tape again? They're at the table, producers. We just rolled it while Katie was
13:55talking. This is really interesting, Dana. This is where they were unveiling the new Benihana menu.
14:02My mouth just watered.
14:03Yes, I did.
14:04I love that place.
14:06I know. It's amazing.
14:07That's great for a birthday.
14:07They cook right in front of you. Do you remember when in 2016, when Obama said to Trump,
14:16your biggest concern was North Korea? And then he took it off the table because he knew that it was
14:21a psychological threat. All we had to do was say, dude, we're not going to blow you up.
14:24They walked away. So this is kind of reminds you of something that's pretty major that people forgot.
14:31Also, I think it's it's a fun way to troll Kim Jong-un, which is like, I'm willing to come meet with you,
14:35but you don't want to, because actually you're not really even a part of our group. So you just sit
14:39there and with your little cabal and stew. I think President Trump is big in Japan.
14:44Are you big in Japan? Yes. All right. I am, too. Big in Japan tonight.
14:51Are you? I actually probably am, too. You know what's interesting about the new prime minister?
14:56So when I worked on Capitol Hill way back when 19 in the 1990s, she worked for Pat Schroeder,
15:01who was a Democrat from Colorado. What I think is interesting about her is how politics,
15:06circumstances, understanding, learning, being a part of the system has made her conservative.
15:11And I think she will be an incredible leader there. I'm hoping that that they have a really
15:16good relationship, because one of the things that happened today is that the Democrats are all
15:20saying, how dare he go to Asia when the government is shut down? But it's like Chuck Schumer,
15:25you're the reason the government is shut down. All you have to do is pass the same bill that you
15:29voted for six months ago. And then the government would open, assuming that the Democrats want to
15:35get these trade deals done, that they that it would be good for America to have a mineral pact
15:39with China. That would make sense to try to deal with some of these things so that we're not at
15:43each other's throats. But we'll see what Chuck has to say. Yeah, I was really shocked, Harold,
15:49in the green room when you said, I can't believe the Japanese are risking it all on a female prime
15:54minister. Are they crazy? Have you seen them drive? You said that. You said that racist.
16:02We'll come back to that. I think the president, I give him a lot of credit on things he deserves
16:11credit for in foreign policy. First, he has NATO now spending 5% of their budget budgets on defense.
16:16And he did it a little bit of a weird way, but he got them to do it. Two, he's gotten the Middle East
16:23and our partners and particularly in the Arab region there to use our technology and AI products
16:28and not China's. He's also encouraged and enticed them to invest heavily in the United States,
16:34which is a good thing, as he does with all of these countries here. It's amazing as he's gotten
16:38the Middle East to take our technology products. We still seem to be addicted to a Chinese product
16:43called TikTok, but we can come back to that. But the president has not done an extraordinary job
16:47on yet. It's something I know he's trying his hardest to do. China, we've not done the reset like we
16:52want because all of these trade deals are about getting China to reset their relationship with us.
16:57And as Dana and I think Katie might have mentioned, rare earth minerals, why we are not thinking
17:04about ways to extract, say develop new relationships, we can extract those rare earth minerals from other
17:10parts of the world, including Mexico, which has almost 2 million tons of it. We got to find ways
17:14in which to engage them there. Then finally, Ukraine and Russia, which I give, I wish the president
17:18nothing but the very best there. Finally, I like what President Trump is doing in another part of
17:24this foreign policy, this hemispheric approach and attention given to South America. I've argued
17:29for this for a long time. We talk about immigration and we talk about not wanting people from certain
17:33parts of this hemisphere in our country. If we would invest more heavily and be smarter
17:39about helping governance in a lot of these places, I think Democrats have been a little short-sighted
17:44about this, what he's doing in Argentina. This is all about helping to make our region more peaceful,
17:48more secure, and for that matter, more economically secure. But Mr. President, don't do it at the
17:53exclusion of the rest of the world. We need to maintain our relationships there. I wish you the best in
17:57Asia. No more dancing, more trade deals. I love the dancing. I was going to go to, yeah, Jesse, I've saved
18:03the best for last. Do you think he danced to remind everybody that the previous guy couldn't walk?
18:08That's right. Obama was bowing. Biden was confused. Trump's like the guy that walks onto the carpet
18:15at the Academy Awards and he's a lock for best picture. You can smell it. All right. And so he
18:22comes out and first term, second term, you choose China or America and the world's chosen. The
18:29Europeans are with us because of the AI deal. The Arabs are with us. And we went all up and down the
18:34Pacific Rim and we got traded mineral deals all there. And we cut a huge mineral deal with the
18:41Australians just now. Herald. Eight and a half billion. Okay. So we told the Chinese Halloween
18:47night, if you guys stop, don't stop hoarding the rare earths, we're hitting you with a hundred
18:52percent tariff. And it looks like they're backing down and they're going to save face. And we just
18:57dropped the tariff rate to 40%. They buy the soybeans. We get something done on fentanyl. We take TikTok
19:05back. Okay. And so now we're sitting pretty, except in Latin America. And what do you do
19:12there? You bring in the carrier strike group while he's there on Thursday, which she now remember in
19:17Mar-a-Lago, the Baghdadi strike after they were eating the chocolate cake, he pulls the guy over
19:23and says, watch this, took out Al Baghdadi. I wouldn't be surprised on Thursday when they meet,
19:28we see some action in Latin America. Interesting. I've seen a lot of action in Latin America.
19:33Can we just show the dancing again? I want to, Daniel, doesn't this remind you of something?
19:38Doesn't it look like he's doing Peloton? With the weights? Yes. With the weights. Arms and
19:42lightweights. Arms and lightweights. Look at him. And they're 10 minutes. Yeah, exactly. What I love
19:47about this is that he knows that these people were so excited to be there for him. And by, and having
19:54that moment, they will love him forever. There you go. All right. Up next, AOC swears she's not crazy
19:59as Zoran pushes handouts for the lazy.
20:12Well, they're all socialists now. Democrats getting on board the Zoran Mamdani train. The
20:25smiling socialists making a final push before next week's election. And he says the government
20:30will save us all. No New Yorker should ever be priced out of anything they need to survive.
20:41And we believe then, we believe today, we will believe tomorrow that it is government's job
20:47to deliver that dignity. Dignity, my friends, is another way of saying freedom.
20:59Zoran's cheer squad was right next to him. Bernie Sanders hyping up free everything. And AOC
21:04saying, trust me, guys, we're not crazy. We are not the crazy ones, New York City.
21:11We are not the outlandish ones, New York City. They want us to think we are crazy. We are sane.
21:24New York must have a mayor who represents the working families of this city, not the billionaire
21:33class. And other Democrats are starting to kiss the socialist ring. Hakeem Jeffries hopping on the
21:39bandwagon last minute. And Kathy Hochul was met with tax the rich chance at Mamdani's rally.
21:45Democratic whisperer Bill Maher says this election will define where the party goes.
21:50This is not just New York that's on the ballot. I think the whole Democratic Party in the country
21:56is on the ballot. And the whole country will be looking at this race to see which way are the
22:01Democrats going to go. No, Andrew Cuomo may not be that exciting and that inspirational.
22:05But, you know, for a party that said we want to get back to normal, he's kind of normal.
22:12All right, Dana, what is your response? Where do I? Donnie rally. Where do I begin? Okay. So
22:16a couple of things is one of you noticed that Mamdani, either he feels very comfortable in that
22:22crowd or he feels like he's got a lock on the election because his tone was back to what his
22:27usual is. For a while now, I've been feeling like this guy is so empty, can't really go further
22:33than one step into a question or an answer to a question because he doesn't actually know the
22:39answer. That crowd that they had. Is there any other group of trio of Democrats that could pull
22:47together a crowd like this? And I have a feeling that these three will take it on the road and
22:51their first stops will be South Carolina, New Hampshire and Nevada.
22:55Um, another thing is, is that AOC was playing all the Kamala hits, right? We had fascists,
23:02extremists, Jim Crow. They've got a well-oiled machine. And if you think about who's competing
23:09right now for the elections next week, Mamdani has Bernie and AOC in this crowd and Mikey Sherrill
23:16and Abigail Spanberger couldn't pull a crowd like that. They are getting Obama to come out for them.
23:21They had to figure out that because they are not exciting the base and the base is where it's at
23:28right now. One other thing in this, uh, event, Mamdani goes after Cuomo for living in an $8,000 a
23:37month apartment. And now, okay. Cuomo is an adult. He has made money. He chooses to spend his money on
23:46the shelter that he, of his choice while Mamdani and his wife won two. He was born wealthy. She's
23:54even wealthier and they choose to live in a rent stabilized apartment. This morning I talked about
23:59how this race in New York matters to the country because I'm promised this is coming to a city near
24:05you. I talked about the Minneapolis mayor's race and then the Seattle mayor's race. I learned about
24:10this woman that's running out there as a progressive Mamdani type of person. Her name's Katie Wood. Grew up
24:14upper middle class here in New York. Takes the Greyhound bus all around the country. Where do
24:19I want to live? Okay. This is where I want to live. She chooses to live with her husband in a 600 square
24:24foot rental with their baby. That's her choice. And she goes after the diverse immigrant who pulled
24:33himself up by his bootstraps and worked his butt off and chose to buy a home at $1.4 million in a nice
24:40neighborhood in Seattle. And that guy is sitting there going, how can I be behind in this race?
24:45Wasn't I the one that you guys were championing? No, the new champions of the Democratic Party
24:50are the progressive left. So Jesse, you know, it's always the Democrat elite who usher in the
24:56communist socialist ideology that they think is going to help everybody. But really it's about
25:00controlling the population. And they have a whole stable of these candidates ready to go. The
25:05Democratic Socialists of America are very organized. They have a lot of funding and they're ready for
25:10this test case to be over. So they can then go out and put these candidates in Democratic primaries
25:15all over the country to finally take over the party. And then, of course, to take over the
25:20larger aspect of politics. Yeah. So communism is here because liberalism failed. The liberals poured
25:26millions of people into New York City. And what did that do? Make everything expensive. It drives up
25:33rent. It drives up food. It drives up insurance. No wonder everything's so expensive. They imported
25:39the third world here. So then they loan shark these kids into degrees of like women's studies. So they
25:46can't even afford a small, expensive apartment to begin with. And so communists come in and they say
25:53the government is going to fix the problem that the government created. And then he says government
25:59handouts are freedom and dignity. Now, you've heard that from some of the worst tyrants in world
26:05history. But the people who went to college never took Econ 101, never took history. So they don't
26:10even know. They're so oblivious to this. This guy is going to come in and do this. And I say part of
26:18him, he says. You guys kind of deserve it. So, Greg, isn't he kind of like a Che Guevara Islamist
26:27that gives him too much credit? This guy graduated college with a degree in Africana studies, Africana
26:37like the tanks. I have no idea. All I know is he's now he could very well be the mayor. And it's based
26:43on the politics of envy. That was a loud chant you heard there of tax the rich. The strategy is
26:52that's how you're going to pay for it. That's how you're going to get even. We're taking their money
26:58and there's nothing. We're all going to vote and they're all going to pay. It is a spectacle
27:06that, I mean, if you're a businessman, a go-getter, a family, if you're here, you're going to think
27:12about leaving. If you're thinking about moving here, you should watch the tax the rich thing and
27:17say, I want to be rich. Do I really want to go there? Maybe I should go to New Jersey. I mean, you
27:22know, it smells a little different, but they're not they're not they're not going to hang me in a
27:27park. What is your defense when you say I'm not crazy? It's because the stuff you say are crazy.
27:36The the Zoran's talking about making bus fares free. Have you ever seen what his argument is for
27:41that? He says it's because the box where you put the money, it makes the homeless people who come in
27:48feel very bad that they have to pay. So just remove the conflict that that leads to violence
27:53against the bus driver. Just get rid of the bus fare, the toll box and then all the stuff that
28:00that is the reasoning of a child. Well, how do you pay for the how do you pay the the the income of
28:09whatever, call the check? How do you pay the bus driver? How do you do? Where does the money go?
28:13How do you do this? It doesn't make any sense. But they're saying let's remove the cost because it
28:18makes the crook unhappy. OK, well, then why stop at the bus? Why not do the Apple store? You know,
28:24those ear pods are really expensive. Why doesn't he say to the people out there, we're going to pay
28:28all those ear pods are going to be free. There's nothing Apple can do about it.
28:32I would vote for that. Yeah. So would they because they wouldn't think, wait,
28:36is that possible? And then nobody will have anything. Harold, do you want to talk about
28:40the future of the Democratic Party? So I would remind everybody as concerned as I am about
28:45this this this mayoral election here. And I will say I was I was to Dana's point. I was
28:50shocked here at the end of this race. Here we are a few days in the early voting. It appears that
28:56Mr. Mondame has a pretty good lead. I remind everybody that around this time when the primary
29:01was being held, Mr. Cuomo had about an eight to 10 point lead 12 days out and ended up losing the
29:07race. So this 10 point lead is certainly something that's surmountable. But he seems to be in a good
29:11position. I listened to him not only and not that rally was a little different. I listened to some
29:16interviews of his and some speeches, some other presentations he's given Mr. Mondame. He sounds
29:20decisively mad and divisive, not uplifting, not unifying. I didn't hear any words. If you're about to
29:27become mayor or governor, an executive in a city or state, nothing about safety, affordability,
29:32caring, pro growth. All of us are going to do this together. This pitting of people against people
29:38is just unnecessary. It's not how you you not only not how you win a race, but not how you start a
29:44term to be the mayor of the most important city, the biggest city, the most vital city in all of the
29:50world, certainly not in states. And I would argue all of the world. I hope he's able to figure
29:55figure this out. Now, I will remind everybody, we have two mayors in this country. Just a year ago,
30:00people talked about these cities as being irretrievably perhaps too far to the left.
30:05And I'm a Democrat, not a socialist. Philadelphia elected a woman named Sherelle Parker who decided
30:10to go after criminals, decided to ensure that we prosecuted those. And there's a guy out there in San
30:14Francisco named Daniel Lurie who's decided he's going to work with President Trump on issues that
30:18really matter and impact the city. That's the direction our party's going in the future.
30:23Well, Donnie doesn't talk about safety because he thinks crime and prison are social constructs.
30:27So, all right, coming up, using the term illegal aliens is now racist.
30:31Watch your mouth. I'm sorry. Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson shaming a reporter for using
30:56the term illegal alien. We don't have illegal aliens. I don't know if that's from some sort
31:03of sci-fi message that you wish I've had. Well, listen, the legal term for my people were slaves.
31:08You want me to use that term too? So, look, let's just get the language right. We're talking about
31:13undocumented individuals that are human beings. The last thing that I'm going to do is accept the type
31:18of racist, nasty language to describe human beings. Oh, sad, Katie. Oh, wow. I don't think that people
31:28in Chicago whose neighborhoods have been run by gangs who are fueled by Mexican and Venezuelan drug
31:34cartels really care about whether we're using the term illegal alien or not. He did mention the legal
31:40definition of this. Alien refers to people who are not citizens of the United States. You can be a legal
31:46alien. You can be an illegal alien. So if you have a green card, you're still called an alien. So this
31:51is ridiculous. It just comes down to he wants to protect the people in these communities who are
31:57victimizing those who need the most help. When you go around Chicago or you look at the people who are
32:02being interviewed, not in the fancy parts like the governor of Illinois, where he doesn't want to put
32:06himself in danger. But when you talk to real people who are victims of this and all of this illegal
32:11alien crime over the last 20 years in Chicago, the most violent place in the United States of
32:16America, they will tell you that they want these people out. And that's just on the crime side of
32:22it. You also hear from them on the economic side about housing inflation, about wages going down and
32:27being deflated as a result of illegal immigration into Chicago and other states and cities around the
32:32country. So he can go back to this argument that Democrats have been making for a long time,
32:36that words need to be careful and that we really don't want to talk about the real issue. But there
32:41are a lot of people in Chicago being left behind while he wants to shame reporters about using
32:45proper terminology and being accurate. Yeah, Harold, isn't this the kind of woke BS that got your party
32:50into so much trouble? The World Series is on tonight. And one thing is you don't swing at every
32:55doggone pitch they throw. I think that it would be great if Mayor Johnson and even Governor Pritzker,
33:01whom I know, get to Washington, get in the White House, sit with the president, do what I mentioned his
33:06name in the last segment, what this mayor in San Francisco was able to do to get President Trump
33:11not to send the National Guard out by collaborating with his business community and talking with the
33:17president. It's clear we have a crime issue. Katie's right. There's a crime issue in a lot of
33:21American cities and Chicago probably is right up there at the top. Whether the crime is committed by
33:26a citizen or an illegal, I would think if I were the mayor to governor, I'd want to figure out ways to
33:31deploy the FBI, the ATF, and the National Guard if need be to try to cut down on crime, to try to
33:39eliminate those in our communities that are committing these crimes. Swinging at every fastball
33:43about the language. Look, I get the mayor has every right to do that, but I think there's a better way
33:48to go about addressing this problem. They police language, not crime, Dana.
33:52Well, I was going to make the same point that Katie does, which is like the actual legal term
33:56is alien. I remember when Peter first got here, he was an alien on parole. And it does sound like
34:01he's committed a crime, but it's just like, it was just the legal terminology. You made love to an
34:06alien on parole. Yeah. That's kind of sexy. I love how that's really where you're in.
34:14Jesse. Before I blush too much. That's a technical term.
34:18Could we just, I'm just going to make one political point. If you look at the group there gathered with
34:22Brandon Johnson and if you can pull that up. So the, one of the squad members, Jayapal,
34:27she's there, right? Guess what invitation she didn't get? What? The, the, she wasn't with Bernie
34:34and AOC and Mom Donnie. She got the, she, she got the short straw and had to go to Chicago to help
34:42the mayor. Left out in the cold, Greg. They were ugly shaming her because that's what they do.
34:46Um, you know what? It's exhausting dealing with stupid people, but in Chicago, keeping the stupid
34:53in power has its rewards. True. You never get any single major problem solved, but you will never
35:00uncover a single example of corruption. Like they can do whatever they want as long as that clown's
35:05in charge, but you, you know, murders and rapes continue. They, they confronted him with, it's not
35:10just the language like, you know, illegal alien. They brought up a woman being raped and murdered by
35:14illegal and he just like dismissed it. He didn't care. He didn't think it was relevant. Um, I believe
35:20that this attack on ice is designed to keep the country from realizing that this is entirely possible,
35:26that the deportation plan is achievable and it's necessary and it can be done. So you hinder it
35:33to make it appear that it is not worth the ever worth the effort. So they say it's just too costly,
35:39but they're incurring the cost. I do this all the time when my wife asked me to do the dishes.
35:44I suddenly kind of develop a weird twitch and it's possible that the dishes could fall.
35:49And she says, you know what? I'll do the dishes. Yeah. It'll just be easier if I do it. Yes,
35:55exactly. Do that again. So I can know how to do that. That's just a slight twitch. You're not clumsy.
36:01Okay. Yes. Ask me if my wife makes love to me while I'm twitching. You creep. Is your wife native born?
36:06Yeah. My wife is native born. Coming up, the newest way to quit doom scrolling.
36:11Welcome back. Gen Z is grabbing so-called analog bags filled with retro items like paper crosswords
36:35and walkmans. And it's all to stop doom scrolling. Katie, you have a strong opinion about this. Is
36:42this something that you support? I just think it's funny she's telling you about it on social media,
36:46but I do love this idea that you have your, I mean, I have one of these. You have a book
36:51bag with stuff to do other than be on your phone. I think it's great. Gen Z needs more of it.
36:56I play Monopoly with my kids when it's raining out to get them to understand board games.
37:00Yeah. That game is so long. Uh, the only way to win is you just buy everything and then you try to
37:06trade and, and you bankrupt them with the hotels. I don't want to give away my strategy, but that's
37:12my strategy. So you got to treat people in that generation, like children. Like my mom came over
37:16this weekend with my dad to play with the kids. They brought over a broomstick, two pumpkins and a book
37:23about witches. And for an hour, the kids were totally engaged. And then they watched TV for four hours.
37:30It's strong. I use monopoly. You teach your math also in a little bit of reading because
37:34that's important to your thoughts. Gen Z wants more of this. It's one of the reasons that shows
37:38like gray's anatomy are very popular with Gen Z because they love looking at what it was like
37:43before they had these horrible things in their hands. Mr. Exclamation point. You seem to have
37:48a strong opinion. I, I, once again, I read this wrong analog. I thought it was anal OG.
37:54And so I had some tips and I can't use any of them. Yeah. Yeah. So I'll just have to pass.
38:03Sorry guys. Nice. We're time for one more thing. One more thing is up next.
38:21It's time for one more thing, Jesse. All right. Mondami, the socialist surge. This is big on Fox
38:27nation. Lawrence Jones explores why these Marxist ideas, what they're going to do to the big apple
38:32and for the entire country. This guy could take over the financial capital of the world. That's
38:37New York city. For those of you out there who don't know tonight, Jesse water's primetime. We
38:41have Ron DeSantis, Kaylee McEnany and Nick Sordor. And I did eight o'clock. All right, Greg. All right.
38:46Tonight, we got a great show. 10 PM cat temp, Michelle DeFoyer, Guy Benson, and Joe DeVito. Let's do this.
38:54Yeah.
38:55I made a touch.
38:58Time to play guess the animal sounds. I'm going to play a sound. You guys have to guess it.
39:03Let's play the sound. Shall we?
39:04Oh my goodness. Katie. One animal? Yeah. It's one animal, Katie. It's a sea lion.
39:19I agree with Katie. It's a sea lion. It's a seagull. Walrus. Walrus. Oh, a Brit Hume. All right.
39:26Roll it.
39:29Oh, okay. That's close enough. Sea lion. That is a sea lion. Oh, you got it.
39:33Always guess sea lion. That's what the mystic aquarium in Connecticut can make that noise.
39:38That was pretty good. Hey, happy sports equinox to all who celebrate. It's like Christmas for sports
39:42fans like Bill Hammer, because today all major sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL
39:48scheduled to have games tonight, but you should watch Jesse Waters instead. Podcast with John Ashbrook
39:54of the Ruthless podcast today. Very good.
39:57Harold.
39:57Tiny newborns in the Cleveland Clinic, Nick, you here. They celebrate Halloween. They dress
40:01them up. These kids are going through the toughest times. Their parents are. God bless you. And
40:05we're praying for you.
40:06Oh, indeed. All right. That's it for us. Have a great, every, not have a great, you know,
40:12Mondays are hard for me.
40:12I love that picture.
40:14Yeah, I got it. I'm with you, Dana. I'm here.
40:17Have a great night, everybody. That's what I meant to say.
40:19Okay. Have a good night, everybody.
