00:00Now we're in the month of October. Only a few more days left till we hit November. Then you
00:03start to say, okay, football season in the mist. College football season technically used to wind
00:08down in November, but now we still got three months of college football season left. It's
00:11sort of like the NBA takes a back seat. We like opening night. We like the sport back in our lives,
00:16but also watching some of these highlights, you can score, you can score some more,
00:20and you can score on top of that right now, Joe. The early start to the NBA and a lot of players
00:25coming up lame on a night-to-night basis injury-wise, but the guys that are playing
00:29here, like Austin Reeves, like last night, he goes on the road, hits a, you know, jump shot with less
00:34than a second to go, basically a buzzer beat it to win that game. Scores, I think it was 20,
00:38did a 28 or 29, which didn't even hit his points prop and lowered his scoring average on the season,
00:44man. Dudes are scoring out there in the NBA. They are. And you know, Donnie, you look back here,
00:50it's so funny how we forget, but usually the start of the season, there is a lot less defense being
00:58played, a lot more threes being chucked up and analytics has kind of changed it. You got a lot
01:04more organizations like the Miami Heat, Donnie, that are dropping a buck 40 a game. This was a team
01:10that was hell bent on making it a half court game, slowing everything down, using the shot clock.
01:16No, no, no, not anymore. A lot of teams are adopting, get as many shots as you can. It's a
01:21numbers game. Chuck up as many as you can, run as fast as you can, and let's see how many points you can
01:26score early in the season. Yeah. Get those shots up, man, early, make it known that you're a baller
01:31here. I'll tell you, we're going to take a look at a game tonight, Orlando Magic and the Charlotte
01:34Hornets coming into the season. Hey, this could be Orlando's year in the East. It's absolutely wide
01:39open. They should be able to get at least a top two, maybe top three seed, if not the number one
01:44seed based on the scenarios we saw last year, where this team's starting to come into his own.
01:47Well, look at the standings right now, Joe, and I find the Orlando Magic at one and four
01:51on the season, on the road, but favored tonight. Opened up at three, it's at two and a half between
01:57two and a half, I should say, and three and a half, depending on where you're shopping at.
02:00And look at this total. No surprise, the 238 and a half's overnight. They're gone. We're into the
02:04240s now. As you see the graph, they got 241 and a half. What's up with the Orlando Magic? Sooner
02:09than later on a four game losing streak, you got to start winning if you want to be one of the better
02:13teams in the East. This is the exactly what we were just talking about, Donnie. The Orlando Magic
02:19have decided in the offseason that they were going to make a trade for Desmond Bain because
02:24they wanted to increase the shooting. Orlando last year, over the last couple of years under
02:30Mosley, has been one of those teams, Donnie, where you dreaded having to play the Orlando Magic
02:36because you knew it was going to be a rock fight. It was going to be physical. You were going to get
02:40beat up. And the first one of 101, 105 wins. Orlando this year has now decided, no, no, no. We're
02:47going to run up and down the court. We're going to chuck the ball around. We're going to play little
02:51defense. And they have no rhyme or reason. They're not a good offensive team. And they're trying to
02:57play in a style. They're not built to play and aren't used to playing. And that's why you're seeing
03:02outside of that opening game against Miami, which again, still they scored a ridiculous amount of
03:07points. They have not shot well. They have not kept anybody to 100 points. And now they're going to go
03:13and take on a team that is the fastest tempo team in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets.
03:18Good luck trying to play Charlotte's game. You're not built like that. At some point,
03:22Donnie, Orlando has got to go. You know what? Maybe we should go back to being a rock fight team
03:28and play a little more physicality here and see how that goes.
03:31Exactly. And changing it up, you're going to have some of those nights where it's like,
03:35okay, this isn't working out well. Do they stick with the plan? Do they go back to another plan?
03:38Well, it's still early in the season. You could try things out. Points, props in this game.
03:41LaMelo Ball listed at 25 and a half. Palo Bancaro at 26 and a half. Some of those superstars to
03:47certainly keep your eye on at this point. The Wizards and the Thunder, which it says here,
03:53which is not correct. It's actually the Warriors and the Bucs. We'll go with that one first.
03:57How about this? Oh, wait, hold on. We do have this correct. Why am I dyslexic this morning?
04:01All right, we'll go. Let's flip it back up. We will go Wizards and the Thunder here. That's an
04:06eight o'clock start. Heavy. What do we got a football line here, Joe? Minus 17. That's now listed at 15
04:11and a half and a total of 232 and a half. Is this going to be as easy as it sounds? By the way,
04:16one of those easy games last night where the Pelicans in town in Elevation, they got smoked.
04:21Does the Thunder smoke the Wizards tonight?
04:23Yeah, it was no Chad Olgren last night. Doesn't look like he is playing tonight either here,
04:31Donnie. No Isaiah Joe. So the same injury concerns or load management, whatever you want to call it
04:38early on. But the reality is, listen, Washington is one of the worst teams in the NBA this year.
04:43They're not going to be good. Somehow they blew that 20 point lead to your Sixers there a couple
04:49of nights ago, which is still scratching. They're giving back to back games in which they've given
04:54up 139 points to Charlotte and Philly. And now they take on OKC. I'm not running this early in the
05:02season because the backdoor cover will be open, but maybe an Oklahoma City Thunder team total might
05:08be in play here tonight. How about the Warriors and the Bucs? Yes, this game is actually playing
05:13at the same time. Eight o'clock as the Wizards and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This line opened up as a
05:17one and a half point favorite overnight for the Golden State Warriors. Now we're seeing it as high
05:21as most outlets show at two and a half points for the road team. The Warriors as the favorite,
05:25the total 231 and a half. Warriors, Bucs, eight o'clock. What do we got? Yeah, so we got Kevin
05:32Porter out for this game here. We know that coming in. This is going to be a fun one. These two teams
05:39have a lot of experience against one another. Great Milwaukee win against the Knicks a couple of
05:46nights ago while the Clippers came to town and shot 36 percent the other night against Golden State
05:52Warriors who won a game 98 to 79. Talk about a throwback here, Donnie. I think they're going to
05:58have to score in this one going on the road. Certainly give the edge to the home team Bucs
06:03here, but you can never count out Golden State in this spot. So I would look to the Bucs though.
06:10Some of the leaders here in the club have some points being scored tonight. One for the Golden
06:14State Warriors, Steph Curry, 26 and a half. And you get no bargains on Giannis Antetokounmpo if you want
06:18to take him. And the reporting back 31 and a half points. So 32 points to cash in that ticket here.
06:25Final game of the night that we'll talk about. And it looks like this game is an 830 start tonight.
06:29So look at that. All East Coast style games here. Love to see that. Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs.
06:35Here's one of the games that we love. You take a look at the line, Joe. Excuse me. Opened up
06:39five and a half. Still sits at five and a half in just about every book. The total of 232 and a half.
06:43The ticket count heavy on the Spurs, but no movement just yet here. Could we have a public
06:50annihilation and the Heat hang around that five and a half? Well, listen, Miami is a completely
06:56different team now than they have been. I mean, they are scoring in bunches, still playing some
07:01defense, but it's the style of play that we have gotten, you know, we're shaking our head going,
07:07what? We knew Norman Powell was going to be the scorer for Miami with Tyler Hero out this year,
07:14right? And he'll be back eventually. But he's averaging Powell 24 points again. Didn't play
07:18in that last game against Charlotte. Still questionable for this game. But then you look
07:23down the list, Donnie, I mean, they have everybody else on this team is a double digit scorer on average.
07:30It's absolutely crazy here. We are going to keep an eye, though, on the injury report here.
07:35Cornette, not available. So can still not available. Darren Fox, not available. So this
07:42is getting five and a half points for the Miami Heat, who have no problem dropping a buck 30 against
07:48anybody. That's a big ask for the San Antonio team. Yeah, take a look tonight to some of the
07:53leaders again, Victor Webb and Yama, who's already looks like he's coming into his own,
07:57certainly as an MVP candidate. He's listed at 28 and a half points tonight. But also,
08:01we talk about some of those throwback type situations. It used to be the Miami Heat also
08:06were a slower team, you know, tempo wise. 232 and a half listed in this game. Look at all of these
08:11games tonight. And it's so funny that we have the evolution of the NBA season. You have 232 and a
08:15half, 232 and a half, 231 and a half, and 241 and a half. And then as you get towards closer to the
08:21playoffs, those numbers start to shrink. And then in the playoffs, you're down in the low teens in the
08:26200. It's like 211 and a half, 212 and a half. It's fun. But also, these inflated prices, you're
08:31going to get those same inflated prices on those prop bets there. You get to score a lot. Hey,
08:35what'd you guys score last night? 28. I didn't hit my player prop last night. Tough going,
08:39Joe, in the early stages to try to get a grip on exactly how some of these games are going to go.
08:43Well, yeah, there's the clear tempo chasers here in the NBA. Then there are some of the older
08:51experience team, like the Clippers, like the Golden State Warriors, who are in no rush to run up and
08:56down the court. So pick your spots. The NBA is always about scheduling, and the Spurs have a
09:02couple of days off before this game. Miami just played the other night. And how about my Philadelphia
09:0876ers? Not playing tonight, but we'll be playing tomorrow against the Boston Celtics that they
09:11already upended on night one to open up. The perfect Sixers stay perfect tomorrow night. We'll find out.
09:21Joe Ranieri picking up a dub yesterday. An easy non-sweat solo blast in the first inning covered
09:27a year fee here. Now, the question is, we don't have Major League Baseball. We do have the NFL. But I
09:31got to tell you, if you are looking at options, we talked about this game a little bit earlier where
09:36it's like, ooh, the public's going to love one side of things in the NBA, and it might be smoke and
09:42mirrors, Joe. Where are we going tonight in the association? Well, I am going to go with a Miami
09:48team, just not the Dolphins here. I'm going to go with the Miami Heat, who, if you've been paying
09:55attention, my goodness, they have been an ATM machine in covering games and hitting overs here.
10:04They just dropped 144 points on a pretty good Charlotte team a couple of days ago. Now,
10:10they head on the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs, who have what could be the greatest player
10:16in the NBA over the next couple of decades here in Webayama. However, yeah, this is, you want to give
10:23me five points on a team that has count of seven players averaging double figures? And if we forgot
10:31that, Bam Adebayo is a pretty good defender, too. So, outside of Webayama, I can absolutely go toe-to-toe
10:40here, scoring. I'll take the five and a half points here. There is no reason to think this won't be a
10:46close game in the fourth quarter with the firepower that Miami is bringing to the table. So, yeah,
10:51I'll take the five and a half right now with the Miami Heat. If it ain't broke, let's not fix it.
