00:00Take a look at this game on Sunday at 1 o'clock in the Windy City of Chicago.
00:03But wind temperature is there, or excuse me, wind chill is supposed to be below zero.
00:08Nobody ever wants to hear that, but Shador Sanders is coming to town to take on Caleb Williams.
00:12A big game for Chicago and also maybe for the future of Shador Sanders and the Cleveland Browns.
00:17This line, Joe, has not moved all week.
00:18Opened up at 7.5, still sits at 7.5 today.
00:21And the total, 38.5, freezing cold in the Windy City for this showdown.
00:26Yeah, I mean, we saw there early on Sunday when the line came out, you might have been
00:32able to get 6.5, then 7, now 7.5, and it's kind of locked in.
00:37And I was interested, Donnie, because of the temps and what we're looking at from a weather
00:42perspective, would we start to see that total come down a little bit?
00:47But, you know, like you said, we haven't seen a whole lot of movement here one way or the
00:52other.
00:52We had mentioned it, the team that is going to be able to run the ball in these kinds
00:57of weather conditions is going to have the upper hand.
01:00It feels like a dead under to me, Donnie, but the market hasn't reacted that way just
01:05yet.
01:06But that is a game worth keeping and a line worth keeping an eye on.
01:10Yeah, certainly.
01:11It certainly is.
01:11See if that ground game can get going, colder temperatures.
01:13Maybe it slows the tempo down.
01:15And also, you got a really good Cleveland defense that got embarrassed last week with Jim Schwartz
01:19looking for that bounce back against the Chicago Bears, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia from the
01:24city of brotherly love.
01:25A one o'clock start on Sunday, Joe.
01:27Cold temperatures here, mid-20s, winds approaching 15 miles an hour.
01:30Last time I saw Jalen Hurts and that Philadelphia offense there the past couple weeks, they look
01:34terrible in cold, windy conditions.
01:36But this is the Raiders with Kenny Pickett coming to town.
01:39The line sits at 11 1⁄2 across the board and a 38 1⁄2, similar total that we're talking
01:45about in Chicago.
01:46The Eagles need a victory.
01:47Does it have to be ugly?
01:48Does it have to be cute?
01:49Does it have to be a runaway?
01:50I don't know.
01:51But what's your spread line for this one, Joe?
01:53Well, it's interesting, Donnie, because this originally opened up right around 12 1⁄2,
01:58and now we're sitting 11 1⁄2, and yet we're seeing all the tickets and all the money
02:03so far this week on the Philadelphia Eagles.
02:06And yet that line's not moving up, Donnie.
02:09In fact, it might have clicked down a point there, which tells me that the public still
02:14believes Philadelphia at home is the right spot, but the books aren't moving it.
02:2011 1⁄2 is a dead number.
02:2210 is a key number, Donnie.
02:2311 1⁄2 is a dead number here, and it's not moving.
02:27And if I'm the books, there's no reason to use it, because if Philly is going to win
02:31this game, and if you like Philly, they are going to win it by multiple scores.
02:36If you don't think they're going to cover, well, then this is going to get real interesting
02:40in Philadelphia in the fourth quarter there, Donnie.
02:42We like to do football quotes around here, Joe.
02:44We like to bring the people into a little bit of our slice of life here.
02:47We're going to talk about Baltimore and Cincinnati.
02:50But before we get to the game itself, remember the Titans, Joe.
02:54You know, Petey's up there in the lineup, and they're going to, you know, Denzel walks in
02:57as Coach Boone.
02:58Football's fun, right?
02:59Football's not fun.
03:00It is fun.
03:01It's not, no, no, no.
03:02Football is not fun here.
03:03Well, maybe Joe Burrow is getting asked those same type of questions where he doesn't know
03:07football is fun anymore.
03:09Take a look at this press conference.
03:10If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it.
03:16You know, I've been through a lot, and if it's not fun, then what am I doing it for?
03:22So, mindset I'm trying to bring to the table.
03:26Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems frustrating.
03:30There's just a lot of things going on right now.
03:32A lot of things going on.
03:34Fall related, personally, all of the above.
03:36Like, like you said, there's nothing, all we can do is focus week to week and try to
03:42win games.
03:44I don't think anybody's really thinking about the playoffs right now.
03:48That's within reach, but on our fingertips.
03:57So, just got to keep doing what we're doing and try to get better.
04:03Sounds like they're going to get their ass kicked, Joe.
04:05Is that what I'm getting out of this one?
04:06What am I getting out of this?
04:08It sounds like he doesn't think they got a shot, right?
04:11I mean, it's, he's probably saying, like, of all of the seasons, like, we can't put, like,
04:17the AFC North could have ran away with this, had he been healthy enough, long enough, and
04:23I don't know, could they have actually come up with a defense that can stop somebody?
04:28But, yeah, it feels like Joe knows that this whole thing has to be blown up, and that's
04:34not great news for Joe Burrow.
04:36I don't know why he took the, you could have taken the money from anybody, Joe.
04:39You did not have to go back to one of the worst organizations in the NFL.
04:42You really didn't, Donnie.
04:43Pretty impressive there, because that, that sounds like, usually you get a quarterback
04:47up there, it's like, hey, what are your thoughts?
04:49Well, we got life, we just got to get one game at a time.
04:51He's basically going, like, I don't like what's going on here.
04:54Like, is it personal?
04:55Yeah.
04:56So, so what is he having, personal, at-home problems, then he shows up to work, and there's
05:00even more problems at work at this point.
05:01I look at that two-and-a-point line.
05:03I don't like Baltimore by any stretch, but if my quarterback is basically tossing his hands
05:07up, like, I'm not even having fun at this point, what are we getting this weekend
05:11out of Baltimore and Cincinnati?
05:13By the way, like, you talk about playing in cold weather and the way it goes down, it's
05:1610 degrees of kickoff there for that game, which Baltimore is a favorite, Joe, of two-and-a-half
05:20and a total of 51-and-a-half.
05:22I look at that press conference, and it makes, again, I don't know if I want anything to do
05:26with betting the Bengals in this game.
05:29No, you can't.
05:30How can you?
05:31I mean, there are neither, I mean, somebody's got to win the game, I guess, but neither team
05:35is exuding confidence right now.
05:39And, I mean, listen, Joe Burrow was, you know, he has always been the glass-half-full
05:44guy, Donnie.
05:44He's been like that, you know, his entire career.
05:47He was like that at LSU.
05:48So, but, man, oh, man, there's got to be some issues going on in that locker room, and I
05:53am sure the idea of them botching the whole Hendrickson situation is not sitting well with
05:59them either.
05:59Again, Cincinnati, you didn't want to pay the guy, you came to an agreement, then, of course,
06:07you didn't want to pay him.
06:08You could have traded him at the deadline here.
06:10He'd probably be playing on another football team, but he's not going to waste his space
06:13out there knowing he's going to be a free agent.
06:14He just handled this whole offseason ridiculously bad after signing your two top-wide receivers.
06:19This is what you get here.
06:21How about the Philadelphia Eagles and the Las Vegas Raiders?
06:23Vegas is going to come to town for a 1 o'clock game.
06:25They're a dome team.
06:25Cold weather, windy conditions, and can he pick it under the helm here?
06:28A terrible defense for Vegas.
06:30Does that even matter for Philadelphia?
06:32An awful performance on Monday night from Jalen Hurts, which cost them the football game
06:36single-handedly, Joe.
06:38They're 11.5-point favorites in this game and a total of 38.5.
06:42I don't know anybody running the window to take the Philadelphia Eagles, but this is one
06:45of those litmus test games where if the Eagles win, sometimes it's like, okay, just break
06:50the string of losses.
06:51Now we get back.
06:52We've got Washington for a couple games.
06:54We should be able to cruise out and win this division.
06:55Or is it one of those get-right-game show we talk about?
06:5831-7 final Eagles.
07:02It better be, Donnie.
07:04And I think they know that, too, because you've got to stop the bleeding here in a big
07:09way.
07:09Kind of uncharted territory for the Eagles here as of late, right?
07:13It's been a long time since they've had to pump the brakes and try and stop this here.
07:19But they have a great opportunity.
07:21You know, it's going to be interesting to see here.
07:24Can Pickett show just how bad Geno Smith was?
07:27Or is Pickett just going to show everyone, listen, it wasn't Geno.
07:32Look at just how terrible everything on this offensive side of the ball is.
07:36I mean, they blame Chip Kelly, and that didn't seem to help.
07:39So it'll be interesting to see what Pickett can get done.
07:43Yeah.
07:43Again, he shouldn't be very good in this game.
07:45He was a Philadelphia Eagle last year.
07:47Coming to town.
07:48Yes, he would like to win, but again, this is a really bad Vegas Raiders football team.
07:51And no, Jalen Hurts is not going to be replaced as the starting quarterback.
07:54But if he does lose to the Raiders and he throws three more interceptions, then it certainly
07:58becomes valid.
07:59But the Eagles just need to pick up a victory here, get the good vibes back in the building,
08:03the Super Bowl MVP back on track, and see what the Eagles can do for the final couple
08:06games of the regular season.
08:09Carls and the Texans.
08:10Next one up here, Joe.
08:11A devastating defense there for Houston.
08:13They'll take on Jacoby Brissett, which I don't know if we're going to get Marvin Harrison Jr.'s
08:16game, banged up once again at practice, 42 and a half is the total.
08:20But how about this?
08:21Close to a double-digit favorite for the Houston Texans in this game.
08:24Listen, it's just about nine and a half at every outlet here.
08:27Seems to be an easy victory.
08:29Texans a little bit banged up in the backfield.
08:30Do they look past the Arizona Cardinals?
08:34It's so hard to trust.
08:36Yes, the defense is great.
08:38We know this.
08:39But, man, you're asking an offense that is anemic with a quarterback who has never been
08:45this big a favorite, Donnie, in his career in four years somehow to just, what, run away
08:51with this game?
08:52I mean, that's a big ask here.
08:55Sure, Houston can win.
08:57But, Donnie, are we really trusting them to do enough here offensively to win this game
09:01by double digits?
09:02And if they do, is it going to be because they had, what, two pick sixes and a punt return?
09:08Because that feels like the only way we're getting an easy cover in this game.
09:12It feels like it's going to be a struggle to get this kind of number covered.
09:16Could have been an easy cover here for the Jacksonville Jaguars at home taking on the
09:20New York Jets, which looks to be Brady Cook getting his first start in the NFL.
09:23He was horrendous last week getting sacked, sacked, and sacked again.
09:27A 13 and a half point favorite and a total of 41 and a half.
09:30Good weather game, though, Joe, 70 degrees, light winds, no precipitation in the forecast.
09:35But the Jets going down just for vacation, or can the Jets actually be competitive and
09:39stay within those two touchdowns?
09:41Yeah, I don't think they're going to be competitive at all.
09:45I think this is going to be very much like what we've seen, Jacksonville.
09:49And you've got to give them credit, Donnie.
09:50I mean, ever since their bye week, they have been really, really consistent and really,
09:56really good.
09:57They're going to be able to run the ball.
09:58They're going to be able to pick apart that secondary.
10:01And defensively, I don't think anybody on the Jaguar side is going, oh, boy, Brady Cook
10:06is going, like, we're in trouble here.
10:09No, nobody is thinking that.
10:11I think if Jacksonville is going to be taken seriously, these are the kinds of games.
10:16Handle your business.
10:17Make it look easy.
10:18And move on.
10:20Yeah, simple, simple, Jacksonville.
10:22Keep moving.
10:23Keep winning.
10:23Win the AFC South.
10:25And Liam Cohen is doing a pretty good job.
10:26And there should be a layup this weekend, but it is the NFL.
10:29We've seen crazier things happen.
10:31How about Washington and New York?
10:32Marcus Marriott inserted as a starter because Jaden Daniels' elbow still isn't right.
10:37And he re-injured it, but there is no structural damage.
10:39We'll see what he plays on a week-to-week basis.
10:41We won't play this week.
10:42Jackson Dart is going to play for the Giants.
10:44And the Giants are a favorite at minus two and a half in a total of 46 and a half.
10:49I look at these type of games, Joe, and say, I really don't want to dip my toes in the water
10:52and bet aside, but I just look at it and say, neither one of these teams ever deserves
10:56to be a favorite.
10:57So who's ever the favorite, I'm just going to fade them.
11:01I just love the fact that the Giants are still firing people at this point, week 15,
11:06Donnie.
11:06I mean, I just think that is fantastic, which tells me that they're still very, very much
11:11serious about winning games and moving forward.
11:14And if I'm the Giants, you know, yeah, I want to win this game.
11:19If I'm Jackson Dart, it's time to rally the troops.
11:22This is a winnable game.
11:23Step up and get the job done against a division foe.
11:27And yeah, I think I have more confidence in the Giants than I do, let's say, the Bengals
11:33or some of these other teams that are likely going to get run off the field.
11:37But like, if you're a Giants fan or a Commanders fan, like these are the games that you actually
11:42don't like because you have a chance to win it.
11:44Like if you're a Giants fan, you probably would love to play like the Denver Broncos the rest
11:47of the way out or, you know, another really good, like the Patriots or something like
11:50that.
11:51Same thing here if you're looking for Washington, because yeah, you're going to sit down and
11:54watch the game like, oh no, we just won this.
11:55That drops our standing in the draft and away we go at this point.
11:58Just the way it is here, but we're getting you ready for an NFL Sunday.
12:01Tom Becchio on deck next.
12:03Let's see what he has for this weekend's action in the NFL.
12:06It's a football Friday right here on the Sports Grid Network.
12:08It's how we get down.
12:09We got a lot of football information to get to today, and sometimes you got to bring in
12:13the help here.
12:13It's Donnie Wright's out at Show and Eerie.
12:14Now we welcome in Tom Becchio.
12:16We're right here on a Friday edition of the Early Line, rising and grinding.
12:19Tom, how are we feeling this morning?
12:21I'm doing good.
12:23Crazy game last night.
12:24Shout out to Kyle Pitts for bolstering my Dynasty fantasy team to start off the week.
12:29Didn't expect the game to go like that.
12:31I had the under, was really not expecting that many points from Kirk Cousins, 300 yards.
12:36But we're on to Sunday.
12:37We have a really, really good slate to get to.
12:40Yeah, by the way, Tom, let me ask you a couple quick questions about last night, because we
12:43talked before the game, like the expectations of, well, you probably should just take Bijan
12:47or you take Kyle Pitts here.
12:49That's the way to go.
12:50I think a lot of prop bettors were extremely happy with that.
12:52And then you look on the other side, you know, Bucky Irvin, 60 yards rushing at 132 from
12:56Mike Evans, Baker Mayfield, two touchdowns, three touchdowns for Kirk Cousins.
12:59Let me ask you this question.
13:01How the hell did that fourth quarter went the way it went and Tampa Bay doesn't pick up that
13:04victory?
13:05That was an incredible collapse.
13:08Unbelievable from them in a bad way.
13:10Mike Evans looks good.
13:11His prop is 39 and a half.
13:13Next week, it's going to be in the 60s, probably back where it should be.
13:16But, you know, the Bucs have always been this team where they just don't do enough.
13:20And they may still win the divisions.
13:21They have two games against the Panthers, but certainly not looking great.
13:24They won't do anything in the playoffs.
13:26Yeah.
13:27Are we looking at Carolina as your champion of that division?
13:32Is that even possible, Tom, you think?
13:35It is, but are they winning the division or are the Bucs losing the division is the real
13:39question.
13:40Like, the Panthers may back themselves into a division title.
13:43But again, whoever wins that division, because both these teams, they have to play twice to
13:46end the season in the final three weeks.
13:48They're lowest on the totem pole, right?
13:50When it comes to the NFC, everyone's going to take every other team against them.
13:53And they'll be hosting a game.
13:55But I'm not sure if they'll be favorites in that game.
13:58Yeah.
13:58No, I don't think they will.
13:59Like, there's some really good records that are going to be wild cards here in the NFC.
14:03It's almost like you're jockeying for position to take on Tampa Bay in that game, or if it's
14:07the Carolina Panthers.
14:08Let's get to Sunday's action, Tom.
14:09A lot of good games here.
14:10No bye weeks.
14:11I absolutely love that.
14:12So a full card.
14:13You don't have to, oh, there's only eight games on Sunday or two, four o'clock games.
14:17Great mix of games.
14:18We're going to start right at one o'clock.
14:19Buffalo and New England.
14:20Maybe the game of the day, and it's a one o'clock start here, which is impressive.
14:24Temperatures, not too bad for New England at this time of year.
14:2628, 29 degrees, Tom.
14:28Light winds, no precipitation in the forecast.
14:31We've seen this number change back and forth.
14:33New England has a favorite.
14:34Buffalo is a favorite, which they do sit now, of minus one and a half.
14:37The total is 49 and a half.
14:39Drake Mays has been sensational.
14:41We know what Josh Allen can bring to the table.
14:43What do you see here with the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots?
14:46Well, first off, I'm leaning on the Bills to win.
14:49I wouldn't even lay the points, though.
14:50It's just Bills' money line at this play, minus 118 or so thereabout.
14:53I think they come away with the win.
14:55The Pats are, they've had an awesome season.
14:57There's no doubt about it.
14:58Year over year change for them has been fantastic.
15:00But they're running hot right now.
15:01I don't want to say that they're due for a loss, but that's essentially kind of how I feel.
15:05But I really do like Stephon Diggs' over 50 and a half receiving yards.
15:09He is still the number one receiver for the Pats.
15:11They have a very kind of mixed and jumbled receiving core with so many different options.
15:15He leads the team with a 21% target share.
15:17It's not significantly higher compared to Hunter Henry or some of the other young players that are stepping up.
15:21But I like him in this spot.
15:23He is going up against his former team.
15:24We saw what he did on that Sunday night.
15:26But more importantly, the Bills' secondary has been torched by receivers essentially week over week.
15:31Outside of this Pittsburgh game a couple weeks ago where there was absolutely no offense,
15:35we are routinely seeing opposing wide receivers hit this mark.
15:39Diggs projected for 59 yards right now.
15:42His prop is still sitting at 50 and a half.
15:43So I think there's a decent leeway to get him over this number.
15:47The Bills aren't catching.
15:50I mean, the Bills win.
15:51Even if the Bills win, they're not winning the East, right?
15:53You think the Patriots have enough to hold on and get the top billing?
15:59I think so.
16:00It's not going to be a shoe-win for them.
16:03But I do think the Pats, they have enough.
16:05They have the Bills at arms like this, essentially.
16:08And it will have to be a full collapse from the Pats in order to lose it.
16:11As they go 500, they're still in the division.
16:14Let's have some fun with a few more games here on Sunday afternoon, Tom.
16:17425, not because we think it's going to be all that competitive.
16:19And the oddsmakers are telling us it won't.
16:21It's a 13-and-a-half-point line.
16:22That game, that's the Colts taking on the Seahawks here.
16:25The expectations for Phillip Rivers to start.
16:27We haven't got official word, but it's been practicing.
16:29Riley Leonard has actually been practicing as well.
16:31If Phillip Rivers does play, what are the expectations for that game?
16:35What are some betting angles we might be able to look at?
16:37My expectation is that the Colts are going to try and sneak out a win.
16:42And it means not turning into a shootout, right?
16:45It means they can't let JSN run wild.
16:48They have to keep this game.
16:49They have to make it ugly.
16:50They have to, like, you know, muck it up, essentially,
16:53as we often say when it comes to basketball.
16:55But they have to make this game dirty.
16:57They have to say, Jonathan Taylor's going to carry the ball 25 times
17:00and keep Sam Darnold and JSN off the field
17:02because they just don't have the offense to go toe-for-toe with them
17:05and try and win this game with 30-some-odd points.
17:07They try and win this game 20-17.
17:09I don't know if that's happening.
17:10But I would look to Jonathan Taylor,
17:12rush attempts to prop at 19-and-a-half or 20-and-a-half.
17:16I'm trying to figure out that if he, Phillip Rivers,
17:21is named the starting quarterback,
17:23does this line go over two touchdowns?
17:27Probably not because I think enough people,
17:29there will just be enough resistance in the market
17:30that people will buy into the Colts.
17:33But there's just no expectation for me from you
17:38for him to go out there and do anything productive.
17:41Right.
17:42The funny part about it is, like, you just like,
17:44well, you don't want a rookie to go and go play the 12s up there in Seattle.
17:47We saw Max Brosman, how bad he was.
17:49I got to tell you, like, Riley Leonard gives you a better chance
17:52to win this football game from Phillip Rivers.
17:54So Tom's angle is correct.
17:55If Phillip Rivers starts, it's for, all right,
17:57I know you're going to be competent, which means,
17:59can you complete a five-yard pass on third and four
18:02just to keep the chains moving so we can hand the football off once again?
18:05I do think that's the right angle to play, Tom.
18:07Let's go to the Mile High City.
18:08We're talking about cold weather temperatures all over the place.
18:10Around 60 degrees at kickoff for the Denver game,
18:13taking on Green Bay.
18:14That line is a favorite for Green Bay at two-and-a-half.
18:16Josh Jacobs banged up, still worried about that knee at this point.
18:20Not a lot of respect for Denver.
18:22How do you see this game playing out on Sunday?
18:24I see this as an under, ultimately.
18:26Honestly, I'm still hesitant on the Broncos.
18:29I don't think they put together a good resume of wins.
18:32I know they have a ton of wins, and they've been rattling them off,
18:35and they've been coming from behind.
18:36But the quality of opponents that they've beaten is not that of a high tier.
18:40You know, struggling to beat the Commanders,
18:42struggling to beat the Raiders on that Thursday night game.
18:44Comeback versus the Giants.
18:45There's still something missing.
18:46Yes, they beat the Chiefs, but the Chiefs aren't the same team
18:48that they once were.
18:49So not a whole lot that I have faith in from that game.
18:54Tom, one more quick question.
18:55The Chiefs, is this the final time we hear about the Chiefs
18:58and playoff chances still being alive?
19:01Can the Chargers beat them,
19:02or we're just going to have to worry about the Chiefs a little bit longer?
19:05They may win this game, but it depends on what else happens in the AFC.
19:09I just think that they're done.
19:11You know, they can obviously be back next year,
19:12but they need a significant retool in their offense.
19:15Perfect segue into the next segment,
19:17which we will break down Chargers and Chiefs.
19:19Tom Vecchio, thanks for waking up, rising, and grinding with us.
19:21Right here on the early line on the Sports Grid Network on a football Friday.
19:25We'll talk to you soon.
19:26With Joe and Donnie, we'll be right back after this short break.
19:29Arrowhead Stadium here, Joe.
19:31That's the site that's going to take on the Los Angeles Chargers
19:34versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
19:35They're going to bang on that drum.
19:36They're going to have chants from the stands
19:38because this might be a last stand.
19:40Remember, Custer's last stand didn't work out all that well.
19:42Could be the Kansas City Chiefs' last stand, Joe.
19:4516-degree temperatures at kickoff, very light winds, no precipitation.
19:50You do have a quarterback coming to town in Herbert
19:51that still has a broken hand, colder conditions.
19:54Can he hold on to that football?
19:55But the question is, can the Chiefs hold on to their season?
19:58They're favoring this game, Joe.
19:59And many outlets, as we list here, have minus 5.5
20:02and a total of 41.5.
20:04Both of these offensive lines incredibly banged up and injured.
20:09I don't know where the offense is coming from.
20:11It feels like this is an ultimate playoff game.
20:13The Chargers, with the hammer right now,
20:15looking to swing it against Kansas City.
20:16But can Kansas City get off the mat here?
20:19I tend to believe Kansas City will win this football game,
20:22but it's not a buying into Kansas City
20:24as if this was the old Kansas City
20:26with Andy Reid and Patrick Holmes
20:27and they always pull rabbits out of a hat.
20:29They don't win one-score games.
20:30And Joe, looks like this is going to be a one-score game.
20:34But they're still good enough here
20:37in order to beat a warm-weather indoor Chargers team
20:41coming in and having to play
20:43in just absolutely the worst conditions.
20:46And the fact that, you're right, Dottie,
20:48I'm still trying to figure out how they beat the Eagles
20:52even though they gave up a 70% pressure rate there.
20:56They were in his face there, Justin Herbert,
21:00every play on every snap.
21:03And you know that's exactly what's going to happen here
21:05with Kansas City.
21:07I don't know that the Chargers are going to be able
21:09to give up that much pressure on Herbert
21:12back-to-back weeks and come away with wins here.
21:15Not to mention Trey Smith, the right guard,
21:17starting right guard.
21:18He has been practicing fully.
21:20He's returning there.
21:21Trent McDuffie, who went down in that game last week,
21:25he looks like he is back and ready to go
21:27even though he hyperextended his knee.
21:29So they're getting a little bit healthier.
21:32And you got to be able to trust them at Arrowhead
21:35still against this kind of banged-up Chargers team,
21:37don't you?
21:39You should be able to do that.
21:40And the way I look at this football game,
21:42you know it's colder temperatures as we said, Joe.
21:44They're used to that in Kansas City.
21:45They played some freezing cold games,
21:46which were ridiculous that even got played.
21:49The wind is going to be light.
21:50I look at Patrick Mahomes' 236.5, Joe.
21:52I actually like that to the over.
21:54And Justin Herbert's number around 204,
21:55I do like that to the under here.
21:57Because I don't think there's anything you can leave
21:59in the bank where it's like, you know,
22:00if we have a chance to press it down on the Chargers,
22:03let's not run the clock out.
22:04Let's get up two scores on them.
22:05And still with Herbert with that banged-up hand,
22:07didn't look all that good last week.
22:08The Eagles sacked him, what, seven times in that game?
22:11I give the edge to Kansas City,
22:12but I just don't know if I can lay that 5.5
22:15in this football game.
22:16The Bills and the Patriots,
22:17we talked about that previously also with Tom Vecchio.
22:20A monster game in the AFC here.
22:22You take a look at the New England Patriots,
22:24not even favored in their home building.
22:27They already knocked off the Buffalo Bills
22:28in Orchard Park.
22:29A 1.5 point favorite for the Bills,
22:31which tells you a lot, and a total of 49.5.
22:34Cold temperatures, light winds,
22:36no precipitation in the forecast,
22:38a heavyweight battle.
22:39If Buffalo wants to win this division,
22:41they're going to have to win this football game.
22:44They are.
22:45And they'll be ready to go.
22:47I mean, you know, you got, what,
22:48a 10-game winning streak here for New England.
22:51They're coming off a bye week, Donnie.
22:53And like you said, they're a underdog at Foxborough.
22:57I think that line speaks volumes to what's going on.
23:01And to me, it's all about strength of schedule.
23:04They have played and beat just a hilarious comedy
23:08of backup quarterbacks, banged up offenses.
23:12You know, they've taken advantage
23:14of what has been a very favorable schedule.
23:17Now they're taking on a Josh Allen Buffalo Bills
23:22where you saw Josh Allen scramble for, what,
23:2586 yards last week, Donnie.
23:27That's the most rushing yards a quarterback has had
23:29all season long in the NFL.
23:32When you have to worry about him running
23:35is when you've got a lot to worry about
23:38when it comes to this Bills offense here.
23:40He's the key.
23:41He doesn't lose in December.
23:42Like, this is where Josh Allen and Buffalo
23:45play their best football.
23:46There are so many unknowns
23:48with this young Patriots team here.
23:50They're a favorite for a reason, Donnie.
23:53Yeah, Josh Allen, 228 and a half
23:55is his passing prop.
23:56And understand this too.
23:57You get Dalton Kincaid back, man.
23:58That offense changes up
24:00and you got that big play tight end back,
24:01which helps those wide receivers get open.
24:03It's not just a slog fest down the season.
24:06So you have an offensive line getting healthy
24:08for the Buffalo Bills.
24:09Josh Allen, a quarterback, a dominant run game.
24:11Now you throw back both of your tight ends
24:12and your wide receivers getting a little bit healthier
24:14at this point as well.
24:15This is going to be a tough game for the Patriots.
24:17But again, they've been up against it all year, Joe,
24:19where you take a look and say,
24:20referendum games, continue to show me.
24:23Let me tell you something.
24:24Patriots win this game.
24:25They're for real in the AFC, Joe.
24:28Yeah.
24:28Well, listen, and that's a big if,
24:30but they've got to show it
24:32and they've got to prove it
24:33and they'll have the opportunity.
24:35But that 10-game winning streak looks good on paper.
24:38But the reality is,
24:40who have they beaten, Donnie?
24:41Really?
24:43Exactly.
24:43James Cook, anytime touchdown,
24:45minus 120.
24:45Josh Allen, minus 105.
24:47One of those guys is going to score.
24:48Yes.
24:48One touchdown.
24:49Hour number two coming up next.
24:52Shador Sanders last week
24:53had a very good performance
24:54against the lowly Tennessee Titans.
24:56It wasn't his fault they lost that game.
24:57What was surprising,
24:58yet the Cleveland defense
24:59couldn't hold up and stop
25:00a terrible offense
25:01in the Tennessee Titans
25:03which saw Pollard
25:04running left and right.
25:05Now you've got Chicago
25:06headed to the Windy City
25:07and we do mean windy
25:08because it is going to be
25:09frigid temperatures
25:11that we're expecting
25:12below zero
25:13with a wind chill.
25:14A touchdown favorite
25:15for Chicago
25:16with the line currently sitting
25:17at seven and a half
25:18and a 38 and a half point number.
25:20Shador Sanders on the road
25:22taking on Caleb Williams.
25:23Freezing cold temperatures, Joe.
25:25My first inclination,
25:27taking the points
25:28and this game staying under.
25:29What are you thinking here?
25:32Yeah, well, obviously
25:33the weather is worth monitoring
25:37and keeping on
25:38but I mean, you've got
25:38such a low total here
25:40and listen, do we think
25:42that Shador Sanders
25:43is going to bribe
25:47in these conditions
25:48against this Chicago defense
25:50or do we think
25:51that he might struggle
25:52a little bit
25:53like rookies often do?
25:55Listen, I think at this point
25:57Chicago, the way they can run
25:59the ball
25:59even against
26:01this Cleveland
26:02even against this Cleveland defense
26:04who, by the way,
26:05just got torched
26:06by all teams
26:07Tennessee.
26:09I think it's
26:10I don't think it's going to be
26:11the highest scoring game
26:12but I don't think
26:13Chicago's running game
26:15can be stopped here
26:16and I do think
26:17that they'll win this game
26:18and likely win it
26:19by double digits.
26:21Yeah, we were looking at before
26:22like, hey, Cleveland
26:23you can't run on them.
26:24Well, they got ran on
26:25last week by Tony Pollard.
26:26This is a really good
26:27running game
26:27and also in those
26:28cold temperatures
26:29they have no problem
26:29giving 15 carries
26:30one side to Swift
26:3115 carries on the other
26:32side to Menungai
26:33and having an athletic
26:34quarterback at Caleb Williams
26:35fill in the rest of the time.
26:37I don't know if they can
26:38cover the seven and a half
26:39but I do think
26:39Chicago wins the game.
26:40I think it's going to be
26:41a slower tempo game
26:42but again, we thought
26:43last week
26:43who the heck is going to
26:44score the 33 point total?
26:46They blew that out of the water
26:47between the Titans
26:48and the Browns.
26:49So week to week basis
26:50we'll see what happens
26:51in this one
26:51but I am leaning towards
26:52the under
26:52and taking the points
26:53with the Cleveland Browns.
26:55How about this game?
26:56425.
26:57What a waste!
26:58It actually means a ton.
26:59The Carolina Panthers
27:00and the New Orleans Saints.
27:01Not for the New Orleans Saints
27:03but Shuck had a pretty good
27:04performance the previous week
27:05against Tampa Bay
27:06rushing in a couple touchdowns.
27:08Carolina sees the finish line
27:10now with a legitimate chance
27:11to win now
27:12with the Tampa Bay
27:12back-to-back losses.
27:14They're two and a half
27:14point favorites on the road, Joe.
27:16Here's the problem.
27:17Usually it's Carolina.
27:18Can they cover a spread?
27:19Because they're getting points here.
27:21Carolina, the expectations
27:22are for them to win
27:23a game on the road.
27:25How are we playing this one?
27:27Well, this is going to be fascinating
27:29because you have
27:30a Saints defense, Donnie,
27:32that has been
27:33nobody's talked about them
27:34but my goodness
27:35they have been
27:35very, very good
27:37and very competitive.
27:38They blitz more than anybody.
27:40I think they have
27:41the fourth highest blitz rate
27:42in the NFL
27:43and Carolina
27:44well, they're 29th
27:46in passing attack
27:48against the blitz
27:49so that's not going to work
27:50but what the Panthers do
27:51is they average
27:53I think 28 and a half
27:54carries a game, Donnie.
27:55They're going to try
27:56and run the ball.
27:58The problem is
27:58this New Orleans defense
27:59is also pretty good
28:00against the run
28:02so this feels like
28:03it's going to be
28:04a rock fight.
28:05This feels like
28:06maybe the Saints
28:07starting to believe
28:08a little bit
28:09and Tyler
28:10you know
28:11and Chuck
28:11in that they've got
28:12maybe an opportunity
28:14here to win a couple
28:15nobody likes losing
28:16the whole year
28:17we know that
28:18so maybe at home
28:19this could be a spot
28:20where the Saints
28:21surprise a few people again.
28:24Yeah and also
28:24Carolina expected
28:25to win here
28:26and all that pressure
28:27on where the past couple
28:28years they had no pressure
28:29oh look they won
28:29that's cute here
28:30no they're expected
28:31to win this game
28:32we'll see how Bryce Young
28:32does on the road
28:33as a two and a half
28:35point favorite
28:35the most intriguing game
28:37on Sunday
28:37could be a blowout
28:38but it might be a lot
28:39of fun just watching
28:40the Indianapolis Colts
28:41haven't released
28:41who they're going to
28:42start at quarterback
28:42keep in mind
28:43we didn't think
28:44there was even an option
28:45you sign Phillip Rivers
28:46he's probably going to
28:47be the starter
28:48but we are getting
28:48practices here
28:49from Riley Leonard
28:50this week
28:51the total sits
28:52at 42 and a half
28:53the side Joe
28:53minus 13 and a half
28:55Sam Darnold
28:56versus we hope
28:58is number 17
28:59and that number 17
29:00that ain't Daniel Jones
29:01it's Phillip Rivers
29:02no I mean
29:04the cult season
29:05we talked
29:06it's just turned
29:07into a total disaster
29:09and now a sideshow
29:10here but
29:11listen I you know
29:12I appreciate the effort
29:13to do anything
29:14and everything they can
29:15but the reality is
29:17you know
29:18their offensive line
29:19is a problem too
29:20why Donnie
29:21because whether
29:22it's Riley
29:22or Phillip Rivers
29:24they're not going
29:25to have their all
29:26pro right tackle
29:27Braden Smith here
29:28who ranks
29:29I believe
29:30Donnie
29:31is one of only
29:32a handful of guys
29:33that's given up
29:33two or a few sacks
29:34all season long
29:36that's a problem
29:37the defense
29:38without Buckner
29:39without Sauce Gardner
29:40without Ward now
29:41that's a problem
29:43so not good here
29:45at all for Indy
29:46yeah it doesn't look
29:48like you're going
29:48to get Phillip Rivers
29:49to get into a shootout
29:50with Seattle
29:50you're probably
29:51going to try to keep
29:52that ground and pound
29:53style there with
29:53Jonathan Taylor
29:54in the backfield
29:55let's hear from
29:55Uncle Phil
29:56on what he thinks
29:56about this weekend
29:57the easiest way
29:58to eliminate
29:59all the things
29:59that might can go bad
30:00is to stay home
30:02and the only way
30:04to find out
30:04can you still do it
30:05is to go try
30:05and I really try
30:07to keep it that simple
30:08and so
30:08again
30:10I don't have
30:12any concern
30:12from the neck up
30:13and I don't have
30:14any concern
30:14of you know
30:16making a throw
30:17but again
30:18the game's not
30:19routes on air
30:19but I'm excited
30:22it feels good
30:22to have teammates
30:23that I played with
30:24I've been in the
30:24huddle with JT
30:25I've been in the
30:25huddle with Quentin
30:26I've been in the
30:27huddle with Pitt
30:27and Moe
30:28and these guys
30:28I've been in there
30:29with them
30:29and so something
30:30about that feels
30:31like crap
30:31has it been
30:32five years
30:33like dang
30:33everything feels
30:34the same
30:35and again
30:36I'm not naive
30:37to the challenge
30:38that's ahead
30:38at all
30:39but I really
30:41I keep saying
30:42keep it that simple
30:42I'm trying to
30:43keep it that simple
30:43you know
30:44and I know
30:45that the NFL
30:46is a big deal
30:46and it can be
30:47whatever it can be
30:49but to me
30:50it's like
30:50hey you get to
30:51play football
30:51potentially
30:52for four more
30:52weeks
30:53and maybe
30:53then some
30:53and as long
30:55as I can
30:55live with
30:56the results
30:57both good
30:58or bad
30:58and go back
30:59home
31:00and move on
31:01then I was
31:03willing to go
31:03for it
31:03and I was able
31:04to get to
31:05that place
31:05mentally
31:05how's he not
31:07in like
31:08his post career
31:08like usually
31:09you retire
31:09you go into
31:10the broadcast
31:10booth
31:10he would be
31:11sensational
31:12as the color
31:13guy in a
31:13broadcast booth
31:14here
31:14did you see
31:15how animated
31:15he is
31:16it's going
31:16to be fun
31:16it could be
31:17a disaster
31:18or he could
31:18throw for a buck
31:1992 scores
31:20and they put
31:20the victory
31:21we don't know
31:22I'm leaning
31:22more towards
31:23it's not going
31:24to work out
31:24but damn it
31:25this is fun
31:25it's good
31:27to see Roger
31:28Clemens
31:28playing football
31:30apparently
31:30because
31:31a quick look
31:33that looked
31:33a lot like
31:34Roger Clemens
31:35going on there
31:36but listen
31:37coming in
31:38with the right
31:38attitude
31:39doesn't he
31:39just say
31:40he sounds
31:41like what
31:42a quarterback
31:43is supposed
31:43to be
31:44a leader
31:44a guy
31:45that you
31:46know
31:46commands
31:46the room
31:47he's a
31:48pro's
31:48pro
31:49so
31:49as long
31:50as the

31:52and on
31:52the sideline
31:53believe
31:53he can
31:54get it

32:05you know
32:05Phil gets
32:06into that

32:06it's like
32:07hey man
32:07let's get
32:07this going
32:08he's gonna be
32:08charged up
32:09and he's gonna
32:09be talking
32:10trash
32:10and we'll
32:11just see
32:11how quick
32:12he is
32:12in the
32:12pocket
32:13like he's
32:13never been
32:14a runner
32:14you gotta
32:15be able
32:15to protect
32:16yourself
32:16but we'll
32:16see if
32:16he can
32:17do it
32:17because
32:17Seattle
32:17is gonna
32:18be bringing
32:19that heat
32:19on him
32:19just to see
32:20what he
32:20has left
32:21in the
32:21tank
32:21Tennessee
32:22and San
32:22Francisco
32:22Tennessee
32:23picked up
32:24a victory
32:24last week
32:25on the road
32:25wasn't really
32:26because of
32:26Cam Ward
32:33couple-digit
32:33favorite show
32:34minus 12
32:35and a half
32:35in the total
32:35that's listed
32:36at 44
32:37and a half
32:37to me
32:37this does
32:38have smoke

32:39absolute
32:40blowout
32:41written all
32:41over it
32:42give me

32:43touchdowns
32:44yeah
32:45I mean
32:46listen
32:46it's
32:47they've done
32:47a very
32:48good job
32:49at mitigating
32:50the 49ers
32:51the loss
32:52of Warner
32:52and Bosa
32:53right
32:53they've
32:54done a
32:55very good
32:55they've
32:55taken
32:55advantage
32:56of the
32:56schedule
32:57and you're
32:59going to
32:59see it
32:59again
33:00in this
33:00spot
33:01it's
33:01amazing
33:01what
33:02well-coached
33:03teams
33:03can do
33:04even
33:04though
33:04you may
33:05be down
33:05all pros
33:06all over
33:07the place
33:08a well-coached
33:09team
33:09is still
33:10better
33:10than these
33:11teams
33:11including
33:11Tennessee
33:12here
33:13yeah
33:13I kind
33:14of like
33:15them
33:15here
33:15by the
33:16way
33:160-10
33:16against
33:17the
33:17number
33:17is
33:17Tennessee
33:18after
33:19a
33:20win
33:21so what
33:22does that
33:22tell you
33:22they usually
33:24like yes
33:25we won
33:25and then
33:25they turn
33:26back into
33:26a pumpkin
33:27and that's
33:27the end
33:28of that
33:28which I
33:28think is
33:29exactly
33:29what's
33:29going to
33:29happen
33:30yeah
33:31me too
33:31you look

34:37and
34:37a

34:38now
34:38we're
34:38up
34:38to
34:3954
34:39and
34:39a
34:39half
34:39and
34:4055
34:40starting
34:41to
34:42break
34:42through
34:42Jared Goff
34:43is going to have to do a lot
34:44I just think the Rams are the better team
34:46I trust the Rams defense much more than it do Detroit
34:49a touchdown victory for the Rams for me Joe
34:51I think that's in the cards they flex their muscles
34:54against the Lions
34:55we saw this total get bet up what five five points
35:01which is just such a ridiculous jump in an NFL game in week 15 so
35:07the books underestimated what the market was thinking was going to
35:12happen in this game but I and I can't I can't blame an over bet here
35:16Donnie because look at the secondary of Detroit they lost Brian Branch to an
35:22Achilles injury in that game there they've lost DJ Reed now they they have
35:27no they have backups to the backups playing in that secondary and who is it we just watched
35:34CD lamp right absolutely destroy that secondary what do you think Stafford and
35:40Puka Nakua are going to do with this secondary here Detroit is going to have no
35:46issue no problems uh trying to air it out move they are going to be desperate they're
35:51going to they're going to leave it all out there the problem is that defense has
35:55been given up 30 plus points a game Donnie you know why those injuries in the
35:59secondary it this is not a good matchup for Detroit they'll leave it all out
36:05there I think there's going to be this game's going to land in the 60s
36:09somewhere Donnie but ultimately they're just not going to have enough they're not
36:13going to get enough stops against Stafford and the Rams offense which is
36:17going to lead them to likely lose this game
36:19yeah something to keep an eye on a couple weeks ago in that Carolina game
36:23Devontae Adams started experiencing a little bit of a hamstring problem here
36:26did play last week but he hasn't practiced this week Joe Wednesday and
36:29Thursday but we know the Friday practice the most important practice of
36:32the week keep an eye on that but Tutu Atwell off the IR from his hamstring
36:35injury full practices on Wednesday and Thursday they get him going it's not to
36:39say like you know Kevontae Turpin there for Dallas is like hey man that's a nice
36:42little Swiss army knife that's another weapon Tutu Atwell coming back into the
36:45equation something to keep an eye on if Devontae Adams can't go in this game but
36:50certainly a fun look there at 425 this Sunday another game maybe the game of
36:54the week one of the best in the NFC one of the best in the AFC that's the Denver
36:58Broncos taking on the Green Bay Packers from mile high minus two and a half point
37:03favorite not for the Denver Broncos is the home team one of the hottest teams in
37:06football but for the Green Bay Packers let's see what we get in this game
37:10Jordan Love has been very good Knicks has been very good both of these
37:13offenses capable of moving the football and you might think Joe wait a second
37:17mid-December in Colorado how much snow no snow 60 degree temperatures at kickoff
37:23for this one which is kind of crazy but you know here it is I mean not only did
37:28we see an 11 win team a dog at home in the New England Patriots but what are the
37:34chances that we get the same thing in Denver at home you know and now all of a
37:40sudden everyone's like wait a minute how in the world is this happening I'll tell
37:44you how it's happening is that the Green Bay Packers come December again this is
37:49one of those teams Donnie that seems to be figuring it out at the right time he
37:54the Chicago blitzed him last week and every time they blitz Jordan Love he lit
37:59him up 8 of 11 for 126 yards against Chicago last week versus the blitz you know
38:05blitzes more than Chicago Denver Denver blitzes a lot more and by the way
38:10Christian Watson way to step in the loss of Tucker Craft was huge but Watson now
38:16leading the NFL six receptions of at least 20 or more yards since coming in in week
38:23eight yeah they they've got some role in here offensively and I just don't think
38:28that Sean Payton and Bo Nix are gonna have enough in the bag against this defense to
38:33win this game and by the way you do take a look oh what's the conditions out there
38:37there's no rain in the forecast show and how about the windy conditions at mile high
38:40it's one mile per hour expected here you can't you can't place a better football
38:45game for a better temperature game than what we're gonna get this Sunday in the
38:48Colorado Rockies in December make it make sense it doesn't Minnesota and Dallas
38:53they're gonna play in the dome no worried about what the temperature is gonna be
38:56there you take a look at JJ McCarthy good performance last week you take a look at
38:59Dak Prescott ramped up and ready to go CD lamb off of his concussion should be good to
39:05go for this game on Sunday night a six and a half point favorite for the Dallas
39:09Cowboys in the total 47 and a half I think that's six and a half is a little
39:12bit too much for me if JJ McCarthy and it is a big if just has his normal game I
39:18think they can cover the spread Joe I think they can well if they do this is
39:22likely going over and Dallas by the way looks like they're gonna get a few
39:27starters back including you mentioned CD lamb but Trayvon digs looks like he is
39:33trending to play they're gonna get their left tackle back there Tyler Guyton
39:38will also be back so you know Dallas Dallas will have an opportunity here to
39:44put some points up against this defense but to your point if McCarthy who I think
39:49has a favorable matchup in here if he can get the ball to his playmakers we could
39:54you know a real sneaky shootout here Donnie is what we could get we could again
39:59JJ McCarthy's passing number is 193 and a half you take a look at his to throw two
40:03touchdowns in this game listed it now at plus 154 that's dropped a lot that was
40:08closer to two to one this week for him to do that so I do interest I think it's
40:12interesting for JJ McCarthy what we're going to get out of him but Dak Prescott
40:14260 and a half in this game now it is interesting when you look at the
40:18receiving props only two guys listed so far for the Sunday night game that's
40:22Justin Jefferson's and George Pickens because we're worried about a little bit
40:25of that banged up information and what we're going to get from CD lamb once he's
40:28officially announced that he's through concussion protocol but I look at
40:31Justin Jefferson every single week I look and say man 60 yards he should be
40:35able to do that in his sleep and it doesn't seem like he does it's like it's
40:38more Addison and he's a decoy at this spot here the highest paid wide receiver in
40:42football as a decoy Joe not a good look for Minnesota right now no it's it's not
40:48but you know what I was impressed with the bounce back effort last week there and I
40:53think they can build off of that they are capable of you know of doing that so I do
40:59think uh they uh they got a little motivation rolling right now if I gave
41:03you one touchdown prop in this game to look at Joe Javante Williams Pickens Lamb
41:08Ferguson Jones Jefferson Addison who would get the dough for you in this game
41:13uh yeah I think Pickens is going to uh is going to be very interesting in this game
41:19here uh wasn't a great game last week but I think he's going to be really good this
41:24week against this Minnesota defense locked in both Pickens and Lamb listed at
41:29Fandle right now plus 115 to find Pater this weekend one more segment to go as we close
41:35out the weekend style with a little best bet action closing the show out in style it's
41:39how we get down it's a hard working week here you earned it people Monday Tuesday Wednesday
41:44Thursday Friday the weekend is here awesome football all the way through college basketball
41:48tomorrow NHL NBA you got everything you need but the one thing we don't have what we need
41:52now Joe is listening to the people and their understanding of what the questions we're
41:56asking them are because why it's our Fade the Public poll let's get to it
42:00come on now people let us know at SportsGrid each and every day Monday through Friday we
42:12want to make sure you understand the task at hand we ask you a question you give us feedback
42:17and then we see if we want to fade the public what underdog are you taking week 15 in the NFL
42:23that's this weekend's games Patriots plus one and a half Chargers plus five and a half Bengals plus
42:27two and a half Lions plus five and a half the leader right now live Joe 34.1 percent it's the Lions
42:34in second place it's those Patriots nobody really buying into the Chargers or Bengals here Joe why
42:40uh well not doing watch the Joe Burrow uh conference there the press conference that'll
42:48tell you everything you need to know about the Bengals and the Chargers it's just not a good spot
42:52uh on the road against Arrowhead there and you know quite honestly Donnie I'm not sure about the
42:59Patriots or the Lions in this spot so I get why the Lions are going to be the public fair but we talked
43:06about this Donnie the Lions have been being bet all week long and yet the line keeps moving towards
43:11the ramps got to ask yourself why and why are the Patriots a dog at home 10 game winning streak
43:18coming off a bye Donnie make it make sense we gotta make it make sense I'm interested in that
43:24Chargers plus five and a half because I don't know if Herbert's gonna be able to handle the football
43:28in that cold weather in a must-win game for Kansas City but the price point's right like Kansas City's
43:33not gonna blow you out the Chargers will probably hang around and see if they can steal that game
43:36and the Patriots getting no respect at home as a one and a half point underdog when they lead that
43:41division have already beaten the Buffalo Bills and as Joe pointed out early in the show they're coming
43:45off a bye no respect they say it's like Rodney Dangerfield here
43:49you
