00:00The Lions and the Rams went out there and played a game.
00:04It's very funny to me.
00:06This has happened a couple of times with these high totals,
00:09and the books are just dead to rights.
00:12This happened with the Rams.
00:14It's all the Lions games.
00:15So Rams-Lions yesterday, 54 and a half, just smashed the number.
00:18Dallas-Lions.
00:19Dallas game, smashed the number.
00:21And I tried it, and I swear I thought I had a chance
00:24when they played the Ravens early season.
00:25And just flying through these totals at the end of the day,
00:29I'm just curious because, again, yesterday, obviously,
00:31with the snow and everything, what were you on in this game?
00:36Props-wise, I had Jameson Williams over 80 and 90.
00:40I bought in St. Brown at halftime for $1.50.
00:45He landed at $1.62.
00:47I had Williams any time touchdown, but I lost with the Lions.
00:53I had the Lions on the spread.
00:54So I had the five and a half.
00:56I actually was on – I had a parlay that didn't pull out,
01:00but I had Jared Goff for $2.75 and $2.
01:03So I thought Goff –
01:06Oh, that's good.
01:06Wait.
01:07But the other side, what I'm saying is –
01:09Oh, I got you.
01:09I got you.
01:10I got you.
01:10I thought Goff playing against the Rams would be the guy.
01:14I didn't want to keep Stafford or any of the Rams.
01:17I wanted to keep all Detroit guys.
01:19I really thought they posed a problem, and they stepped up in the first half,
01:22had a 10-point lead.
01:23But then again, all of a sudden, you go through a lull, right,
01:28and you give up a couple of touchdowns,
01:30and now all of a sudden you're in.
01:31It's like they were shell-shocked.
01:33And then it's just like they get out of their game plan,
01:37and defensively – here's the deal.
01:40Offensively, Detroit could score with anybody.
01:43Anybody.
01:43Sure.
01:44Their defense is terrible.
01:46It's so injured.
01:47I know it's injured, but we have to call it what it is.
01:49That defense in the secondary can be torched by anybody.
01:53Yeah.
01:53Dallas.
01:54You name any of the NFC teams, they could be abused by anybody.
01:59And that's the problem.
02:01Brady said something on the broadcast that I hadn't thought about,
02:05about how the Rams are tough to beat in L.A.
02:09because it's a dome, so the conditions are perfect,
02:12and they're just so precise.
02:15And I hadn't thought about that just because I feel like –
02:19with the way the NFC is, when you think about home field advantage,
02:21you think about teams like Philly and Green Bay and Chicago
02:24who can bring you into their hell hole, right?
02:27But basically the Rams – like, let's just level this out.
02:32Everything's clean.
02:34And that's – so to your point about Detroit.
02:37For Detroit – and look, I know they don't project to get a home playoff game.
02:40My point is just, like, they're kind of in a bad spot anywhere they are.
02:45Because if everything – if the weather's normal, their defense is going to get torched
02:49because it's so injured and it's just getting torched.
02:52And if it's outside, no one trusts this offense in a cold-weather environment.
02:57So, they're in just such a difficult spot when they play the elites, right?
03:02The Lions are going through what Green Bay went through last year.
03:04Green Bay couldn't beat the elites.
03:06The Lions were swept by the Packers, got smashed in Kansas City, lost to Philadelphia.
03:11The Rams just rolled them.
03:12I mean, it's what we're seeing here, and it makes Detroit a hard team to really buy into.
03:19On the Rams' side of it, though, Joe, I – it's very interesting.
03:24I – calling them the best team in football, more than fine, I would agree.
03:31I still push back on this idea that they are in a class of their own.
03:34No, they're –
03:35They're down 10 in their own building.
03:38Like you said, the Lions are throwing lasers all over.
03:41That's what I'm saying.
03:42They lost to Carolina.
03:43It's a 10-and-a-half point favorite.
03:45Again, the Rams are incredible at smashing teams.
03:47I get the offenses rolling.
03:49I do think Stafford's going to win MVP.
03:51Now, well, I think – I think the Thursday game's going to – he could clinch it on Thursday,
03:58is what I would say, against Seattle.
04:00But I just – I still push back on the gap.
04:03That's my only thing.
04:04I don't – I do not think they are unbeatable.
04:09I – now, they're probably going to be favored in any game they play, no matter what.
04:16At home, would you make them over Philly?
04:19What I think they would make it is about four-and-a-half.
04:23I think they'd make it three.
04:25Maybe I'm wrong.
04:26I'll say – the books actually like the Eagles this year more than I think people realize.
04:31The Eagles' numbers have been pretty strong for – I mean, people were stunned Philly was laying as much as they were laying to the Raiders.
04:38People were surprised by that.
04:40Yeah, but outdoor game, sub-freezing temperature.
04:42I'm not saying – yeah, no, you're – no, but people thought that that was a big spread.
04:46And, I mean, look, the Eagles just rolled them, rocked them, no problem kind of situation.
04:51Look, I'm not taking away from McVay.
04:54I'm not taking away from Stafford.
04:55And that defense with, you know, Jared Verst in his second year doing fantastic things.
05:01I'm not – but as good as they are, you saw what speed can do to that secondary.
05:07You saw St. Brown abuse them.
05:10You saw Jamison William take the top, something that no other team really exploited them early.
05:16I mean, the Eagles did in the second half.
05:18But my point is, when you have talent on the outside, they're going to be in a game.
05:23That's why I don't give the edge to Green Bay if they had to play the Rams.
05:27They get smashed, I think.
