00:00At least 30 people died in a boat accident on the Congo River, west of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

00:06The incident also led 30 survivors out of an estimated 100 passengers,

00:11without ruling out the possibility that the number of victims may increase.

00:15According to local media, most of the victims were teachers who were heading to the city of Bandundu to collect their salaries.

00:22In addition, the boat was carrying more than 700 bags of corn and other foodstuffs.

00:28The causes of the incident are unknown at this time,

00:32and local authorities have not yet commented on possible measures in relation to those missing.
