00:00This is Willem Dafoe. How you feeling, Willem?
00:04Totally relaxed.
00:07You sure?
00:08Yep.
00:09Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best and most uncanny impressions on Saturday Night Live's charming family feud skits.
00:17Dress me in the house, oh yeah, we in here, uh-huh, yeah, yeah.
00:21Number 10, Mick Jagger, Harry Styles.
00:24Now this was a lovely show, darling.
00:26This celebrity family feud bet time and space literally to pit the stars of 1977 against those of 2017.
00:37Oh man, I love the Stones.
00:41Team 1977 features some truly hilarious parodies, but none more so than Harry Styles' energetic mimicry of Rolling Stone's Mick Jagger, accent and all.
00:52This isn't the only time Saturday Night Live did a killer Jagger impression either.
00:56With Jimmy Fallon acting as the man's mirror image in a fun skit.
01:00That's pretty good, yeah.
01:01And then, uh, the thing with the Stones, like, punch in the air like that.
01:05Yeah, that's pretty good.
01:06Yeah, right, yeah.
01:06What else you got?
01:07But Styles' kinetic performance never fails to make us laugh.
01:12It takes a musician to spoof another musician.
01:14Why would anyone in a successful band go solo?
01:17That is insane.
01:18What?
01:19Number 9, Vladimir Putin, Beck Bennett.
01:23Finally on Team Trump, oh my god, it's Vladimir Putin.
01:30We wouldn't want to be Facebook friends with this guy anytime soon.
01:34The controversial Russian leader showed up on Celebrity Family Feud Political Edition, with Team Trump going against Team Hillary Clinton.
01:42Among the usual suspects of, er, Trump's children, Bennett's Putin strikes a hilariously different note altogether.
01:49You and Trump actually friends?
01:52Kind of.
01:53We are Facebook friends.
01:56Mimicking Putin's signature thin-lipped, dead-eyed gaze, Bennett doesn't even have to speak to kill everyone in the room.
02:04With laughter, of course.
02:05His random shirtless moment, spoofing the real-life dictator's macho image, is a joke all in itself.
02:12Not even Putin's star power can help them against Team Clinton, but this spoof is definitely a highlight.
02:22Number 8, Allison Janney, Heidi Gardner.
02:25If you want an Oscar, I have one piece of advice.
02:28Act with a bird.
02:31Oh, thank you, Pumpkin.
02:32If anything, you gave me wings.
02:34Oh, man, I wish they made tiny little Oscars for birds.
02:38This edition of Family Feud pits Oscar winners versus Oscar losers for the 2018 season.
02:44Along with Kate McKinnon's Frances McDormand and Beck Bennett's Guillermo del Toro, this I, Tanya actress was also present on the Oscar winners team.
02:53With Janney's polished accent, cheek-bursting smile, and flirtatious laugh, Gardner's imitation is right on the money.
03:01She even includes quips from Janney's own interviews.
03:04That's where there are no older women, jobs for them in Hollywood.
03:08I took them all.
03:11This parody was so good, Gardner even went on to reprise the role in a Me Too film panel skit, Pumpkin, Endearment, and all.
03:19For an impression that never fails to win us over, Gardner's Janney is it.
03:23These politicians can defend their Supreme Court justice all they want, but usually when there's smoke, there's fire.
03:29Number 7. John Phillips, Bill Hader.
03:32Before Celebrity Family Feud became a staple skit with Kenan Thompson's delightful Steve Harvey, Saturday Night Live did a retro version of the skit.
03:40Here, the Osmond family is pitted against the Phillips family, headed by John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.
03:47Kenzie, my dear, how you doing?
03:49Hey, careful now.
03:50All right.
03:52Uh-oh, watch out, a protective father.
03:54Yeah, something like that.
03:56As powder familias, Haters Phillips captures not just his mannerisms, but also his dark personality.
04:03Thank you, Kate, for a long time.
04:04Diaries.
04:06Uh-oh.
04:07Good answer.
04:08Good answer.
04:09All right.
04:09Bad answer.
04:10Bad answer.
04:10Okay, yeah.
04:12In real life, Phillips was convicted of trafficking illicit substances, as well as accused of inappropriate sexual contact by daughter Mackenzie.
04:20SNL doesn't hold back punches in its illusions, making this family feud skit one of the darkest and most hilarious yet.
04:28Here's a question.
04:30Things you do with your father.
04:32Oh.
04:34Number 6, Idris Elba, Jay Pharoah.
04:38It's a tall order to play this award-winning actor, much less parody him.
04:43But in this edition of Celebrity Family Feud, pitting actors and directors, Jay Pharoah pulls it off.
04:49Known for his spoofs of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and others, Pharoah is likewise winning as Elba.
04:56He particularly captures Elba's deep voice, chill personality, and cotton-mouthed native London accent.
05:02The reaction to him by Thompson's Harvey is especially hilarious and leads to at least one good punchline.
05:09Black Jason Statham?
05:13A bad habit you just can't quit.
05:15I don't know, mate.
05:15You know, gotta stop running around the pub, you know?
05:18Cut down a bit.
05:19That's sick blood.
05:20That's sick blood, you know?
05:21Might as well be underwater.
05:24This edition had many incredible celebrity parodies overall, among the most well-written in the show's history.
05:30But Pharoah's Elba is especially a treat to watch.
05:34Number 5.
05:35Quentin Tarantino, Taron Killam.
05:37Yeah, hey, thanks, Steve.
05:39Yeah, you know, this is good.
05:41It's sort of like a spaghetti western, right, man?
05:43But there's prizes at the end.
05:46Hey, take it down, player.
05:48Speaking of which, we have to talk about Killam's Tarantino.
05:52The acclaimed director of Pulp Fiction and so many others had appeared on Saturday Night Live before, even hosting for an episode of Season 21.
06:00Ladies, I just want to tell you, man, what a tremendous fan I am of your work, and you two are legendary.
06:06Watch out, Quinty, because flattery will get you everywhere.
06:09The real-life Tarantino's enthusiasm, his gestures, and emphatic phrasing is captured with hilarious panache by Taron Killam.
06:17You have to look at your own unique reality, so for me, that's like trying for perfection every time, man.
06:23Do you get that, Steve?
06:24Do you get what I'm saying?
06:26It's hard to believe this is the same comedian who plays the likes of Jebediah Atkinson.
06:32Killam only barely exaggerates the director's manic energy, leading to some funny punchlines on Thompson's part.
06:39For a Tarantino that has peak, well, Tarantino, look no further than this hilarious spoof.
06:45How y'all feeling?
06:45Yeah, really great, really great.
06:48I think great, man.
06:50Number four, Justin Bieber, Kate McKinnon.
06:53I don't know if you heard, but I'm not bad no more.
06:56Um, but I can still do this.
07:02This comedian is one of the best SNL impressionists, no doubt about it.
07:07And Kate McKinnon's celebrity family feud performances are always a joy to watch.
07:12Her impression of Colombian superstar Shakira is especially remarkable, voice vibrato and
07:17all.
07:18What is something that you do when you're bored?
07:21Shakira!
07:22I dabble on my cellular telephone.
07:24I'm sorry, I'm sorry, excuse me.
07:26I dabble on my cellular telephone.
07:29I play the young reverse.
07:30The prize, however, goes to McKinnon's Justin Bieber, appearing in this Super Bowl edition
07:35of Celebrity Family Feud.
07:37Hey girl, uh, how you doing?
07:40Hmm.
07:40Uh, Justin.
07:43Justin, I got some bad news for you, player.
07:46That don't work on women that's grown.
07:48McKinnon nails the look and voice, but it's the mannerisms that really make this impression
07:53a winner.
07:53Also, what incredible upper body strength to lean in while standing.
07:58Her gremlin Bieber is definitely a winner.
08:00Number 3, Lady Gaga, Melissa Villasenor.
08:05Thank you, it is such an honor to be on The Feud.
08:08If 99 people are surveyed, you just need one person to believe in you to win the game.
08:14Now this is a flex.
08:16Melissa Villasenor is an outright chameleon when it comes to impressions of all kinds.
08:21In Celebrity Family Feud, her Sarah Silverman parody captures Silverman's nasally Team Clinton
08:27enthusiasm to a T.
08:28I feel so much pride from my head to my vagina.
08:33But no parody is as stunning as Villasenor's Lady Gaga, nailing not just the singer's gorgeous
08:39looks, but also her speaking and singing voice.
08:43Now that's talent.
08:44Villasenor seems to have a penchant for singer impressions in general, as she also did an
08:49uncanny Dolly Parton.
08:51If there's ever a biopic of Gaga, we know who to call.
08:54You know, it's weird, Steve.
08:55I didn't truly feel sexy until I started making music.
08:59Then suddenly, I was selling records and dating all the time.
09:02It was like some miracle happened.
09:03I don't know.
09:04Number 2.
09:05Bernie Sanders, Larry David.
09:07When did this actually start?
09:08The whole thing is hellos.
09:10My grandmother could knit a sweater in that time.
09:12Granted, this is definitely a case of truly inspired comedian-celebrity synergy.
09:18Both David and Sanders are Jewish New Yorkers and baby boomers.
09:22In fact, they are only six years apart in age.
09:25Regardless, David's impression of the Vermont senator and the political edition of Celebrity
09:30Family Feud is still spot-on and deserves its laurels.
09:34You know what?
09:35We're going to pass.
09:37But your teammates say they want to play.
09:39Yeah, good for them.
09:40We're going to pass.
09:42David captures the latter's homely old man cantankerousness and absolutely nails his gestures.
09:47His Jill Stein monologue is particularly hilarious.
09:52Maybe you're late because people like Jill Stein call you in the middle of the night asking you for advice.
09:58That woman drives me nuts.
10:00For someone who cares about the environment, she sure doesn't mind asking people to throw their votes away, huh?
10:06If you didn't know any better, you would think that was really Bernie Sanders on SNL.
10:11Stranger things have happened.

10:29Number 1. Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande
10:32They told me not to do a game show, but I was like, screw it, I can have fun, I'm a regular person.
10:37But the best impression on Celebrity Family Feud so far has got to be this Uncanny Valley one.
10:43Ariana Grande got her chance to host for this Season 41 episode.
10:47And of course, she played the award-winning actress in this edition of Celebrity Family Feud.
10:52Jennifer!
10:53I'm just like a snackaholic. I mean, I love Pringles.
10:56If no one's looking, I'll eat like a whole can.
10:58Like, every day is my cheat day, you know what I mean?
11:00Oh, how annoyingly relatable.
11:03Mimicking Lawrence's throaty voice and mannerisms to perfection,
11:07Grande's performance is a gentle lampoon of the actress's overly down-to-earth persona.
11:12Close your eyes, and your ears may be hard-pressed to detect the difference.
11:16It's a really tall order to pick out a standout performance,
11:20especially in this heavyweight episode with McKinnon's Swinton and Killen's Tarantino.
11:25For us, Grande's Lawrence is definitely one for the books.
11:28Which other impression on Celebrity Family Feud was so well-impressive that it tricked you for a second?
