00:00She just told me they've been together for 25 years.
00:02This thing, whatever it was, it's done.
00:05Eyes on the prize, Dr. Keir.
00:07Sorry?
00:08Are you blushing?
00:10I knew there was a spark there.
00:12What are they doing?
00:13Looting.
00:14Hey, lads, come on!
00:15Ian, don't antagonise.
00:16Oh, God.
00:17Come on, come on.
00:18Ian, get up!
00:21No!
00:30All right, medics.
00:33All right, medics, we're here.
00:36Can you open up, please?
00:38Maybe I should go around the back.
00:42Is everything okay?
00:43We were given an emergency call to this address.
00:47Suspective stroke.
00:48I haven't wrong.
00:49Is anyone else home?
00:50My son.
00:51Control, this is 3007.
00:53Can you confirm the address you've given us, please?
00:56Yeah, it's 26 Riley Stone Road.
00:58The next patient is a 20-something white male.
01:02Look, he spends most of his time in his room nowadays.
01:06Playing all hours.
01:08I just wish he'd get out and exercise more.
01:13Brett?
01:17Brett, open up, look.
01:21Brett, can you open up, mate?
01:23Yeah, come and stand back here.
01:28Brett, let me squeeze my hand, mate.
01:35Can you look at me?
01:37Yeah, well, sure.
01:38What?
01:46Yeah.
01:47Yeah.
01:47Yeah.
01:48Yeah.
01:48Yeah.
01:49Yeah.
02:00Yeah.
02:01This is Rhett McCormick, a stroke pre-alert, 23 years old.
02:20Fast positive with a right-side deficit in dysphagia, unknown onset time.
02:23His hypertensive got 195 over 104, BM 6.2, GCS 13, 18 gauges in his right ACF.
02:30We haven't got any medical history and no obvious medication found in this house.
02:34Thanks, Jacob.
02:37Lovely.
02:38Okay, ready, steady, slide.
02:47Hello, Rhett. I'm Dr. Paper, Nicole.
02:50Can you squeeze my hands there?
02:52Lovely stuff.
02:54Right, let's get an initial assessment and neurological work up, please.
02:57It does have right-sided hemiplegia.
03:01Fast positive.
03:02Can, can you chase the stroke team for me?
03:04We need CT angio organised, then blood, glucose, ECG, and I'll sort the N-I-H-S-S.
03:16Great life.
03:21Right.
03:22There we go.
03:24Come on, mate.
03:27You must be desperate to get yourself into double maths.
03:29You...
03:29I don't have maths today.
03:32Even better.
03:36I feel sick.
03:39What?
03:40Like, you're going to be sick right now sick, or you don't want to go into school sick?
03:44About now we're still having a go.
03:51Come on, mate.
03:52You can't fake illness just because it's me and not your mum.
03:54I'm not a soft touch.
03:58Look, next time he does it, just...
04:00Just laugh at him.
04:02You'll soon get fed up.
04:04I tried that.
04:06He's just got angrier.
04:07Right, well, like I've told you, you are allowed to stick up for yourself.
04:10Sometimes bullies need a taste of their own medicine.
04:14Give it back, it will stop.
04:17You don't get it.
04:24Fingers crossed we'll have a little celebration for your mum tonight.
04:28Bet you won't feel sick when there's pizza on the table, will you?
04:32Go on.
04:33Get yourself in.
04:36See you later.
04:37I can't find any bloody keys anywhere.
05:06We're going to have to work out what we're telling the kids, if we're telling them.
05:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:11We can work it out.
05:14Oh, great.
05:19Look, I, er...
05:21I've spoken to Darren.
05:24I'm going to stay at theirs for a bit.
05:28We can discuss it tonight.
05:30Oh, what's the point?
05:31We've talked and talked, and you still haven't managed to explain to me
05:34why 25 years of love and support and me finding your keys suddenly isn't enough.
05:42I've tried.
05:44Look, I don't know what else to say.
05:47Look, I'm going to have to go.
05:48I'm going to be late.
05:49Yeah, go.
05:49Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:50Bye.
05:51Bye.
05:52Bye.
05:53Bye.
05:54Bye.
05:55Bye.
05:56Bye.
05:57Bye.
05:57Bye.
05:58Bye.
05:59Bye.
06:00Bye.
06:16You all right?
06:18Yeah, what?
06:19I'm still quite.
06:20That's all.
06:21Sounds.
06:23You sure on half a day?
06:24Oh, yeah, brilliant.
06:25It's all fillings.
06:25Bye.
06:30Hello. Hiya. I'm Teddy. This is Ian. We're paramedics.
06:36You want to tell us what happened?
06:38He pushed me out the car.
06:43You've been sick, have you? Have you taken something?
06:48Come on. Let's get you sat up.
06:51It's OK. We're not going to hurt you. We're here to help.
06:55Do you want to put my coat on?
06:57Yeah.
06:57Do you want to put that on yourself?
07:01No.
07:02There you go. Keep it nice and warm.
07:07So he pushed you out the car while it was moving? Who did that?
07:11Doesn't matter.
07:17Then what's your name?
07:20You don't have to tell us.
07:23It just makes conversation a bit easier, that's all.
07:27Tell you what, shall we get you some privacy?
07:29Can we have a look at you on the back of the van?
07:32You'll be a lot more comfortable.
07:34OK.
07:36Would you like a hand?
07:38Yeah.
07:39Yeah.
07:39Come on in.
07:41You all right to walk?
07:43Yeah.
07:44Come here.
07:46Right, just watch your feet. There's loads of glass.
07:49Crystal.
07:52My name's Crystal.
07:56Tell my name.
08:00Hiya.
08:03Hi.
08:03I should apologise.
08:18I am sorry.
08:22I got so excited and...
08:24Thank you for not reporting me to HR.
08:34There's nothing.
08:36You were just confused.
08:40Yeah.
08:42I wouldn't want you feeling that...
08:44So we can please just forget about it.
08:46Yes?
08:48Yeah.
08:48Exactly.
08:49Kiss?
08:50Or kiss?
08:51Kiss?
08:51Ignore that.
09:18He's the past.
09:19Have you made up with Geordie and Reedia?
09:24Well, apparently they've found some hours to live.
09:27Ah, well.
09:28People don't hear each other when they're angry.
09:31Sit them down.
09:33Apologise properly.
09:34You're pretty brutal.
09:42You are doing great.
09:45What's that, sir?
09:45Well, I didn't mean...
09:49You're doing great, too.
09:52Okay.
09:53Faith, would you mind if that's okay?
09:55And I can leave you to rest in peace.
09:57Sorry, I don't mean...
09:57I don't mean rest in peace.
09:59Obviously.
09:59I've got it from here.
10:01Okay.
10:05Listen, I'm supposed to be going out tonight.
10:08Okay.
10:09My friend, she's flaked out on me.
10:11Got back with her ex.
10:12I will.
10:13Them's the breaks.
10:15Quite like to go out, though.
10:16So I wondered if you fancy going out for a drink.
10:21Tonight, after work?
10:22HR might kick off if we start before then.
10:24Yeah.
10:25Oh, wow.
10:29That.
10:31That is enthusiasm.
10:32No, no, no, no.
10:33Yes, yes.
10:34I mean, that would be lovely.
10:35Yeah.
10:37Er, all done.
10:38Oh, thanks.
10:40Er, I will see you later, then.
10:42Yeah.
10:43Hmm.
10:45Oh, yeah.
10:46Would she just ask you up for a drink?
10:49Drink.
10:50Er, when are you going to medical school?
10:51They're emailing this afternoon.
10:52Don't change the subject.
10:54Well?
10:56Yeah, she asked me out for a drink, but without the weird emphasis that you gave her.
10:59Mm-hmm.
11:00Okay.
11:07CT hot report.
11:09Now bleed.
11:12Er, are you happy staying in here?
11:14Do you maybe want to...
11:14I've got going anywhere.
11:16Okay.
11:18Er, CT shows her proximal M1 clot.
11:22NIHSS is 19.
11:22He's had an ischemic stroke and a moderately severe one at that.
11:26Can, can I have a word?
11:27Mm.
11:31Yeah, um, I didn't want to say in front of Mum, but the stroke team are in IR.
11:35Can't come for 40 minutes.
11:37It's too long.
11:38It is.
11:39Look, how do you feel about doing the thrombolysis yourself?
11:43You've done the course.
11:44I will make sure you've got as many nurses as possible.
11:48Oh, bloody hell.
11:49Erm.
11:51Yeah.
11:52Let's do it.
11:53Good.
11:54Right, let's get moving.
11:54Every second counts.
11:55Yep.
12:02Hi.
12:03So the scan shows there is a clot blocking the blood supply to Brett's breath.
12:08Erm, we need to bust that clot, erm, with something called thrombolysis.
12:12Okay.
12:13Erm, there is a small chance of bleeding, and occasionally that is serious.
12:19However, on balance, I think the benefits are we're the riskier.
12:23So are you happy for us to go ahead with this procedure?
12:26Oh.
12:29Erm.
12:31Yeah.
12:33Anything, just do whatever you need to do to help him, please.
12:37He's all I've got.
12:47Sorry, Jacob, can you?
12:48No, no worries.
12:49This is Don Burton, 10 years old.
12:51Found at the bottom of five concrete steps 60 minutes ago, having fallen top to bottom,
12:55just outside his house.
12:56He has a laceration to his scalp and a boggy hematoma to his occiput with associated vomiting.
13:01No other injuries.
13:03He has a BM of 1.
13:04He was a GCS3, now GCS12.
13:07Tacky with a BP of 108 over 72.
13:10Sats 100% on 15 litres.
13:12We've given him two 6.5 gram boluses of 10% dextrose IV,
13:16uh, three milligrams of ondansatron and, uh, 500 milligrams of IV paracetamol and his VM is now 3.8 and he's a type 1 diabetic.
13:24OK, good to know. Thank you. Thank you both.
13:28Um, he's always been a bit clumsy. This one's the same.
13:31Never did anything like this.
13:33Oh, right, OK.
13:34Dom?
13:35Hello, Dom? Can you hear me?
13:37I think just about.
13:38He-he felt sick and I told him to stay at home, but he-he insisted.
13:42Right, OK, uh, let's get full blood some clotting, um, and I think we should have a head CT as soon as we can.
13:47OK, I've got-
13:48You should have heard the noise.
13:50OK, well, let's, uh, let's see how bad the head injury is first and then, uh, then we'll worry about how he felt.
13:55OK?
13:55Right, well, I should be getting off, OK?
14:00You can trust IV, I promise.
14:03Good luck.
14:05Cheers. Thanks, Ian.
14:06OK, Crystal, um, do you remember anything at all about what you might have been given?
14:11No.
14:12OK. And is this something you might want to pursue with the police?
14:15No.
14:17Right, so, um, I'm going to examine you now just to kind of get a sense of what's going on.
14:21I'm going to start by listening to your chest, OK?
14:22So if you just take your gown down, it was just a-
14:24Hey, sir.
14:25Oh, babe.
14:27What's up, man?
14:28What's up, man?
14:28Hey, right, right, excuse me, can you just step back for a second?
14:31I'm a boyfriend, love.
14:32OK, and I'm the doctor, love. Do you know this guy?
14:35Yes, my boyfriend.
14:37Right, what's your name?
14:38I'm Sonny.
14:39Right, Sonny, can you just maybe step out, take five? There's a vending machine down there. I can see you're very agitated. Just take a breath. As soon as I examine your girlfriend, I will come and find you.
14:47Yeah, no, I'm not going anywhere till I find out what's happened to her.
14:49I was hit by a car. I was carrying the shop and it just plowed into me.
14:53What?
14:54OK, there you go. Now you know.
14:55They didn't even stop.
14:56Sonny.
14:58I've asked you to take five. Sonny. Thank you.
15:03Are we all right, yeah?
15:04Yeah.
15:06All right.
15:06Everything okay there?
15:13It wasn't him. He didn't do this, I swear.
15:17OK, so why not just tell him what happened? I mean, come on, Crystal, it's not your fault if...
15:22I don't want him to know what I did to get back, OK?
15:31You OK?
15:34Understood.
15:35Right.
15:35OK. He's young, aren't you?
15:40Got him in quickly, so things are in our favour. Just be prepared for, um...
15:46Just be prepared, yeah?
15:48OK. Thrombolysis. Here we go.
15:50Don't worry. Dr Piper knows what she's doing.
15:53Um, 0.9 milligrams per kg of alteplase, yeah?
15:57Yeah.
15:57Um, a second. Go on, you can do it.
16:01Right.
16:04So, the big risks here are an allergic reaction or a massive internal hemorrhage.
16:10So can we just keep all eyes on any changes to the BP, um, or anything else?
16:16Yeah?
16:16Mm-hmm.
16:17Yeah.
16:17Yeah.
16:17OK. Let's start with, uh, 10% for the first minute. Siobhan?
16:22Give it to Cam.
16:23Can we do the first one?
16:25Yeah.
16:26Oh.
16:26Yeah.
16:27I'm so sorry, baby. I guess your silly mum got the dose wrong. I don't know how.
16:47Does mum still do your injections for you?
16:50Well, yes. He's only 10.
16:52Don't worry, mum.
16:54Well, I have to.
16:55You'll be back to uni tomorrow, and then it's just me and Dom.
16:59It's no good if I can't look after him properly, is it?
17:03Thank you. Well, you will have a little scar there, but it's comfortably above the hairline now, so it shouldn't be too distracting.
17:09OK, does that feel all right?
17:10Yeah, fine.
17:12You gave us all a scare.
17:14When you get home, we'll make you a bed on the sofa.
17:16We'll all watch a film, like we did when you were little.
17:20Can I have ice cream?
17:23Um, I don't want to throw a spanner in the works, but, um, I think we should probably keep Dom in for a couple of nights for Bob's.
17:29Well, uh, you said the scans were OK.
17:32Yeah, with a head wound, it's always better to be safe rather than sorry though.
17:36Aw, poor baby.
17:37I can go get the ice cream.
17:39Mint choc chip.
17:41And we could watch a film on my phone.
17:48Sophia?
17:50Sorry.
17:51Um, say I had FII concerns.
17:55It's nothing concrete at the moment.
17:56It's just a hunch, really.
17:57Uh, a child?
17:59Yeah, a ten-year-old boy.
18:00Uh, so he's got a bad cut to the head.
18:01Um, he fell, possibly induced by low blood sugar, which, no, but the mum is, I don't know, she's very well as me, seems to be enjoying the attention.
18:10It's, uh, it's quite a big leap from that to fabricated or induced illness.
18:16Maybe she's just, you know, nervous.
18:19Yeah, I know.
18:21Ah, you've got that nagging feeling.
18:25Do you want me to step in?
18:26Yes, please.
18:26I do, yeah.
18:27All right, um, tell me everything you know.
18:33Okay, local anaesthetic is in.
18:36Um, as soon as I put the chest ring in, there should be a release of pressure, okay?
18:40Within your mothorax, any air that you're taking in, it's squashing your lungs, and that's what's causing me the difficulty breathing, right?
18:47This is not something we'd normally do here, but it's, uh, completely chocca, so.
18:50Okay.
18:51Okay?
18:52Right, can you feel this?
18:54No.
18:55Okay, good, right?
18:56I'm going to start with the incision.
18:58Hang on.
19:00That's what you were wearing.
19:02For shopping.
19:04Um, um.
19:06Sunny, can we just save this conversation until later, thanks?
19:09You're doing it again, aren't you?
19:11I'm going to pressure you.
19:14You're doing it again, aren't you, Christoph?
19:15Tell me the truth.
19:16You're doing it again.
19:17Sunny, if you continue like this, I'm going to get security in here.
19:20We spoke about this.
19:23You said you'd never.
19:24I know.
19:25I'm sorry.
19:26Oh, come on.
19:28I didn't want to upset you.
19:30What?
19:31We need the money.
19:32You know that.
19:33We need the money.
19:34We need the money.
19:34That's just my fault, is it?
19:37Can you feel it, please?
19:38Oh, my God.
19:39Sunny, wait.
19:42I love you.
19:51Can you get some aspirin, Eddie?
19:53Yeah.
19:53Nicole?
19:54What is that?
19:55Is it a bleed?
19:56A bleed?
19:57Oh.
19:58I don't know what I'd do without him.
20:00Please.
20:01Thrombolysis can cause hypotension, right?
20:04There's no rash.
20:06It's not anaphylaxis.
20:08Geordie, can you get his head down and his feet up for me, please?
20:14I've just been sitting in his room for years, doing nothing.
20:19This is my fault.
20:20No, he's not responsive yet.
20:22Brett?
20:24Brett, can you squeeze my hands?
20:27Cole.
20:27BP like that, it's got to be a hemorrhage, right?
20:30Nobody panic.
20:32Just watch the trend, not the numbers themselves.
20:35It's just the blood reaper fusing the ischemic part of his brain.
20:40Great.
20:41It's levelling out.
20:44Yeah.
20:46Brett?
20:47Hello.
20:48You're in Holby City Hospital.
20:50I'm just going to lift this off.
20:51Will you open your mouth for me?
20:55That's it, nice and wide.
20:56Lovely.
20:59Can you stick out your tongue?
21:01That's it, right out.
21:03Lovely.
21:05I'm right here, love.
21:08I love you.
21:09Em, can you get in touch with the stroke team for me, please?
21:11Yeah.
21:12Well, that was tense, wasn't it?
21:14Yeah.
21:24Hey, lads, come on.
21:25What are you doing?
21:26What are you doing?
21:26I don't know, he's done.
21:28Just...
21:28I just don't do it.
21:30Got someone to see you, Mosh?
21:33No problem, lads.
21:34It's all sorts of things.
21:34Everyone get in a car, good with your family.
21:38Mum, come on.
21:39Mum, what are you doing?
21:39Come on, Ian, Ian, get up!
21:41Get up, mate!
21:41Get up, mate!
21:42Get up, mate!
21:42Get up, mate!
21:43Ian!
21:43Get up, mate!
21:44Get up, mate!
21:44Get up, mate!
21:45Get up, mate!
21:46Get up, mate!
21:47Get up, mate!
21:48Get up, mate!
21:49Get up, mate!
21:50Get up, mate!
21:51No.
21:52Look at that.
21:53What's happening, mate?
21:54My ear!
21:55Mine's always me!
21:56That's huge.
21:57Get another pair.
21:58No, I'll put them on now.
21:59It's a waste.
22:02Rita, Jodie, erm...
22:04I said some really, really stupid things to you both, right?
22:07And I want to say I'm sorry.
22:10Yeah?
22:11Go on, then.
22:12Okay, this isn't a sorry, like, I feel sorry for myself and I want my mates back.
22:19Erm, this is...
22:22I regret ever even thinking that way about the two of you.
22:27And I know it sounded like it, but I don't hate you guys.
22:30I love you guys.
22:31We've been through so much together.
22:33I really, really think you're brilliant.
22:36And I miss you.
22:38But you're right to hate me.
22:42I've really messed up.
22:43I've really said some horrible things.
22:45I'm sorry.
22:52Yeah.
22:53Pretty good.
22:54I'd have gone with less self-pity, but...
22:56Yeah, you said some pretty harsh things, Cam.
22:58I know.
22:59And I can't defend him.
23:01I just...
23:03Lately I've had a really horrible time.
23:05Yeah, we know you've been struggling.
23:07But...
23:08Talk to us.
23:10I mean...
23:11What kind of mates are we otherwise?
23:16So we are still mates?
23:18Well...
23:19I think I'm just gonna need a bit more time, to be honest, Cam.
23:22I don't...
23:23I don't wanna stay fighting with you.
23:24But...
23:26You really stuck the knife in.
23:29Yeah.
23:30No, yeah, erm...
23:32I understand.
23:34Erm...
23:35Okay.
23:36How's it, Cam?
23:39Yeah.
23:40Stop.
23:42Tell them about Jamie.
23:43Then they'll understand.
23:46No one can.
23:47Christal's father, isn't it?
24:04Crystal's father, isn't it?
24:16Yeah.
24:19They're not leaving her on her own, surely?
24:21No, I'm going to go and get her stuff, actually.
24:24What's it to you?
24:26I'm the paramedic that brought her in.
24:29Right.
24:31You guys live on the Presswitcher's day, don't you?
24:34Yeah, we do.
24:39Well, I'm not in that way, if you're on a lift.
24:44Yeah, all right.
24:52I agree.
24:54She's enjoying the attention, being in hospital,
24:57the sympathy that comes with having a sick kid.
25:00Thanks.
25:01Bart, you're going to say Bart?
25:03But it's hard, caring for a loved one,
25:07being responsible for medications,
25:09worrying about them all the time.
25:11She's a single mum.
25:13Diabetes in kids can be difficult.
25:16Maybe she's just relieved to have a day
25:18where we're in charge and...
25:21Not her.
25:21I think that's very charitable of you.
25:23I just...
25:23I think it's interesting that the mystery dizziness
25:25only started once the brother was about to leave home.
25:28So prior to that, the diabetes was well managed.
25:30If you need to go...
25:32I just...
25:32I appreciate it.
25:33It's not much to go on.
25:34It's...
25:35Well, maybe talk to the brother.
25:37See what he remembers.
25:38Yeah.
25:40Yeah, okay.
25:42Good idea.
25:46So, uh...
25:49What are you wearing on your drink?
25:53Have you been kicked in the head by a horse?
25:55I'll be wearing whatever I wore on the way in.
25:59No, you have to make an effort.
26:01Come on, let me take care of it.
26:02What sort of effort did you have in mind?
26:04Surely she either takes me as I am or she doesn't.
26:08You really like her, don't you?
26:09Yeah, I'll say that.
26:11I mean, she's an interesting, intelligent woman.
26:14I think we've got a couple of things in common, huh?
26:15Mm-hmm.
26:16Yeah, you like her.
26:25Cheers to the lift, mate.
26:30No problem.
26:33I've actually finished today, so...
26:35I can give you a lift back if you want.
26:40No, you don't have to do that.
26:42It's not a problem.
26:46All right.
26:48Sound, I'll be five minutes.
26:49I'm just going.
26:51Well, why don't I come inside and wait for you?
26:55All right, yeah.
26:57Yeah.
26:58Son.
27:13He's moving in with his brother.
27:16Sorry.
27:17You were married, weren't you?
27:19Yeah, for about 17 years.
27:21How did you deal with big issues?
27:24Uh, we didn't.
27:25That was the issue.
27:27Yeah, the last few years, Lev,
27:29we just didn't want to talk about anything that worried him.
27:31We just shut down and I would get really angry.
27:36It's horrible.
27:37Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up.
27:38No, no, it's fine.
27:39Look, I won't change a thing.
27:41I've got three amazing kids.
27:42Yeah.
27:43But, you know, if I could have fixed it,
27:47I would have done anything.
27:54Dylan?
27:55Yeah?
27:55I have left some outfit choices for you next to your locker.
28:00There's suddenly something wrong with the clothes I wear every single day.
28:03Sorry, what do you want?
28:04Uh, if the boy with the head lacks poor sugar has been sorted,
28:08what is the delay?
28:10Well, I have safeguarding concerns.
28:13Dylan, in an ideal world,
28:15I would let you play detective to your heart's content.
28:17But, unfortunately, this isn't an ideal world.
28:20So, please, tell Pete your concerns and free up that bed.
28:24Yeah?
28:26Do you need to say a word?
28:28Anything.
28:29Sorry, is everything okay in here?
28:31Yeah.
28:32I'm just talking to my brother.
28:34Okay, well, um, it's, uh, it...
28:36Can I ask you a very quick question?
28:39It's just the one.
28:39It's in your best interest.
28:42Um, when you came in,
28:45your mum said that you had been clumsy too.
28:47Now, what's that about?
28:47Were you ill as well?
28:49Uh, no.
28:50I mean, it wasn't the same.
28:53It was a stressful time.
28:55Mum and Dad were arguing.
28:57I mean, I just got tired a lot, so...
28:59That's all.
29:02Dom has diabetes.
29:04I was there when he was diagnosed.
29:07Yes, he's got diabetes, but...
29:08Why is he having disease spells?
29:10Why is he not injecting himself?
29:11He's going to have to sooner or later, I think, isn't he?
29:13Just treat my brother.
29:15And stop asking stupid questions.
29:16Yep.
29:17Okay.
29:17Okay.
29:29Go ahead, Tim.
29:36Yeah, nearly, mate.
29:38You tell he had eggs, are you?
29:40What?
29:42Top-notch stuff, this.
29:43Look, mate, I can find my own way back now.
29:47Yeah?
29:54You really don't recognise me, do you?
30:00Should I?
30:01Well, er, let's see.
30:07Probably.
30:09The night you were nicking all this lot.
30:13Does that ring any bells?
30:16Huh?
30:17You were looting with all your pals.
30:20Coming back to you?
30:21Yeah.
30:23Yeah.
30:24I was with my girlfriend and her little boy.
30:27Do you remember that?
30:28Because then you'd be the crap out of me.
30:30Do you remember that?
30:32Yeah.
30:33Sorry.
30:36You're sorry.
30:45What's the matter?
30:46You're scared!
30:47You can't look after yourself now.
30:51You ain't got your little mate running around after you.
30:54Do you know what?
30:55I thought you were scum then.
30:56And that's before I saw how you cheated your girlfriend.
30:59I love her.
30:59Shut up!
31:01Crystal deserves better
31:02than a pathetic, thieving little bunny like you!
31:10She does.
31:13She deserves better.
31:15So go on.
31:17Do it.
31:43Hey, Cadigan.
31:44I need you to resource.
31:44Er...
31:45I'm coming.
31:49Significant blunt force trauma to his abdomen.
31:51It's rigid and he was guarding it upon assessment.
31:53BP is 85 over 60.
31:56He's tacky at 110.
31:58Satsa, 97% on 15 litres of oxygen.
32:01His GCS has been fluctuating between 14 and 15.
32:04He's had TXA and IV paracetamol.
32:06Okay, great.
32:07Thank you, Jan.
32:09Cheers.
32:09Thanks, guys.
32:09Okay, hi, Noah.
32:10My name is Dr. Nash.
32:11I'm just going to give you a quick examination, okay?
32:13So can you just lift your head for me?
32:15I just want to have a little food of your throat, okay?
32:17So, good.
32:18Airway is patent self-ventilating.
32:21I'm going to listen to your chest, all right?
32:23So it's going to feel a little bit cold.
32:25Can you get a nice breath for me?
32:27Good lad.
32:32Okay.
32:33Yeah, chest sounds clear, but he's very tachynaic.
32:35So let's keep him on 15 litres, please.
32:38A little food of your pulse, okay.
32:43Yeah, radial pulse is thready, so he's definitely bleeding from somewhere.
32:47Can we activate the major hemorrhage protocol, please?
32:49And let's get two units of Oneg going through the rapid infuser.
32:52Right, no, I'm just going to lift up your top for a second.
32:54I just want to have a little look at your abdomen.
32:58And, Faith, are you okay to get some more bloods off the back of that second line?
33:03Let's do FBC, UNEs, cross-match, group and safe.
33:06Nice deep breath for me.
33:07Good lad.
33:08And let's do a co-wide panel as well, please.
33:11Thanks.
33:12Okay.
33:13Right, okay, let's swap.
33:16Just have a little feel of your tummy, Noah.
33:18Okay.
33:19Good lad.
33:24Okay.
33:25Yeah, that's very rigid.
33:27I'm thinking ruptured spleen.
33:28Yeah, could be.
33:29Okay.
33:30Right.
33:31I will give the surgeons a shout to have them on standby
33:35and can we get them booked in for CT as soon as possible?
33:38Thank you, guys.
33:39Cheers.
33:42I want a new doctor.
33:44I demand a new doctor looks after my son.
33:47Can I help?
33:49That one's been interrogating my kids.
33:51Accusing me of all sorts.
33:53I haven't accused you of anything.
33:54I just don't understand why Dom's blood sugar was so low.
33:57How dare you?
33:58I love my son.
34:00Men like you, you always think you know better, don't you?
34:05You want to try a day in my shoes?
34:07I have two jobs.
34:08I cook.
34:09I clean.
34:10I never go out.
34:11I do everything for my boys.
34:14Now, you want to accuse me of something?
34:16Go on.
34:17Where's your proof?
34:18I believe Dom is being transferred to paediatrics.
34:21They'll be a new consultant there.
34:23Okay?
34:24A new doctor.
34:25Why don't we go and see Dom while we get rid of his taking up?
34:30I should make a complaint about you.
34:32What's this like?
34:45Okay.
34:46What?
34:47What's happened?
34:49What's going on?
34:50What's happened?
34:51Why?
34:52I called.
34:53Didn't answer.
34:55My phone is in my locker.
34:57Can somebody tell me what's happened?
35:00What?
35:01He called me a loser.
35:03Oh, look.
35:04What have you done?
35:08So yeah, I reckon they'll want to keep you in for a few nights.
35:11And if I were you, we'd just use that time, rest, recover.
35:14Okay?
35:16There we go.
35:17Right, thanks guys.
35:18Good luck.
35:26Can I have a minute?
35:28Half a minute.
35:30I thought you weren't coming back.
35:31No chance, babe.
35:34I'm so sorry.
35:36For everything.
35:37I'm so sorry.
35:40Love.
35:41I don't feel like you have to do that.
35:44And I gotta make sure you don't have to.
35:48Okay?
35:49Okay?
35:50I promise.
35:53You staying in?
35:57Yep, you staying in.
35:58Thanks, guys.
36:01What are you doing about Kate?
36:02I've seen Faith.
36:03She's texted me something about Lorca.
36:04No, I haven't.
36:05Sorry.
36:08Oh, Lorca.
36:09What's happening?
36:10Hey?
36:11Um, so I've, um, I've notified paediatrics, and, um, I'll probably get in touch with social services, but, um, ultimately...
36:20You've done all you can.
36:22Yeah.
36:23It seems a shame, doesn't it?
36:24I'll just charge and hope for the best.
36:26Hello.
36:30Uh...
36:32Um, before my dad left, I, I used to have these vitamin injections, because I was tired all the time.
36:38Um, and after he was gone, when I was, when I was older, I asked my mum what the doctors thought was wrong with me.
36:48And it was nothing.
36:49You didn't need them.
36:52Um, I think you'd probably speak to social services.
36:54I don't know.
36:55I'm breaking up my family.
36:56No, it's about getting the right support in place.
36:57Well, I'm quite in uni.
37:00So it's, it's a lot of hassle, anyway.
37:03And I'm gonna move back home.
37:06Your mum didn't mind losing you.
37:09Like she lost your dad.
37:13I'll make sure he starts doing all the injections.
37:17But if she has both her boys home, then he might not get dizzy any more.
37:21No, he might not.
37:22I think I follow.
37:38She does love us.
37:44Not much of a guarantee, is it?
37:47It's out of your hands now.
37:49Yeah.
37:50Yeah.
37:58How is he?
37:59Hey.
38:01Resting.
38:04They say he's doing well, considering.
38:06And how are you?
38:09Well, I just allowed this to Hubbin, didn't I?
38:16I should have forced him to get out and make friends.
38:21No more video games.
38:22You do know it was one of the young men who was playing against the gold 999, don't you?
38:27And one of said men dropped this off at reception.
38:31I don't know. It might be good in rehab for his coordination.
38:34He does have friends.
38:36For everything.
38:37It's OK.
38:39I wouldn't even know how to turn this thing off.
38:40Good luck.
38:41Thanks.
38:42I couldn't sort of give you top marks, I hope.
38:43You did, actually.
38:44Thank you so much for today.
38:45You really made us feel like I can do it.
38:46Because you can.
38:50Thank you so much for today.
38:51You really made us feel like I can do it.
38:52Because you can.
38:54I'll go take care of each other.
38:55And go for me to get quick.
38:57I'll come getcha for them.
38:58Thanks.
38:59I can call one for now, Gladys.
39:00I've got Mr
39:24Sophia, I'm so sorry I'm late.
39:42I know. Not at all.
39:45I just have to say straight away, I didn't choose to wear any of this.
39:49I don't know what this looks like. I'm told it looks good,
39:52but these were not, well, I didn't choose them.
39:55They were foisted on me.
39:57By?
39:58Faith.
39:59Faith?
40:00Yeah. I mean, she didn't physically put me in them,
40:03but I was lent on quite heavily,
40:04so it's not how I wanted to present myself.
40:07Do you want to go out and then come back?
40:10I'm giving you a serious thought.
40:12Let me get you a drink, what would you like?
40:14Oh, yeah, another massive glass of white wine, please.
40:18Right.
40:22We're sad. Good to go.
40:24Okay. Thanks, guys. Good job.
40:34What's the matter?
40:35It was Luca, but not that.
40:38What?
40:39Are you serious?
40:41I gotta go.
40:43Come over here now.
40:54Right.
40:54I need you to tell me exactly what happened.
40:59He tripped me up.
41:02And then what happened?
41:07I hit him.
41:07Look, I told him to stick up for himself.
41:11Stick up for himself?
41:12The kid was lying on the floor whilst he was kicking him.
41:14The teachers had to pull the car off him.
41:17And that...
41:18That's not sticking up for yourself.
41:20I...
41:20I'm just...
41:22I'll talk to these days.
41:23No.
41:24I think you've done enough.
41:26Come on, God.
41:27Because that original, that wasn't Tom Berenger at all.
41:39That was Tom Selleck, of course.
41:46Well, this is nice.
41:47Just spending some time with you outside of work.
41:52Yeah.
41:52Yeah, I know, it is.
41:53I mean, obviously, we've spent quite a bit of time together at work today.
41:59But it's different, isn't it, being here?
42:02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
42:04But there's times that we spend...
42:06You know, there's relationships that we've born with friends and colleagues.
42:11Mm.
42:12With family and with pets.
42:16You know, that's...
42:18They're relationships, too, right?
42:19They count.
42:20You want to talk about relationships?
42:21Do you know, it was something that...
42:25It was something that Faith said.
42:28Oh, Faith again.
42:31I wanted to say thank you, though, for today.
42:37Because, you know, with the boy, that was really...
42:38That was invaluable.
42:39Yeah.
42:40Well, that is hard, isn't it?
42:41You know, when it's kids.
42:45Yeah.
42:45Is there a little bit of you that would rather be on your boat right now?
42:52Coloured up next to Dervla?
42:56Don't answer that.
42:58Do you want me to answer it?
42:59I must admit, I don't know whether I'm ready for another relationship.
43:07Have I said too much?
43:08I have.
43:08I've said too much.
43:09And then that is cool.
43:12Okay, well, it's school night, so...
43:14Yes.
43:15Cheers for the drink.
43:16You're all very welcome.
43:19Thank you, Dylan.
43:20Night.
43:20See you tomorrow.
43:24I'll see you tomorrow.
43:25Bye.
43:26It's a time.
43:34Hey, mate.
43:36Come here.
43:38You okay?
43:40Luca, can you go wait in the changing room, please?
43:50So...
43:51So, now we're still in theatre, Luca might be charged with assault, possibly expelled.
44:02Faith, I'm so sorry.
44:04Oh, and I got into medical school.
44:08Boy, that's great.
44:09Come here to see you.
44:09Yeah, yeah.
44:09It's irrelevant now, isn't it?
44:12Oh, come on.
44:13Faith, I thought I was giving him the right advice.
44:16Okay, I hated seeing him get bullied, and yes, okay?
44:19It's my fault things have gone this far.
44:21Well, I'll be honest with you.
44:22I saw one of the lads that beat me up earlier, and I wanted to do exactly the same.
44:27I have felt so useless since that night.
44:30They jumped to me from behind.
44:31I couldn't protect you.
44:32I couldn't protect him.
