00:08according to new research. Analysis by the British Heart Foundation suggests working-age
00:13adults consume about 40% above the recommended limit each day. Most of that salt is hidden in
00:19everyday foods like bread, cereals, sauces and ready meals. Campaigners estimate at least 5,000
00:25deaths a year are linked to dangerously high salt intake and are now urging ministers to take
00:31tougher action on food manufacturers. The government is being pressed to help families
00:36make healthier choices, as 3 in 10 adults in the UK are now thought to have high blood pressure.
