Trinidad and Tobago track and field athletes got their first taste of action for the 2026 season. The National Association of Athletics and Administrations held their development met on Saturday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. The athletes were welcomed by overcast conditions which made for some exciting races.

00:00Well, the first developmental meet of the track and field season is down in the books
00:04and Kripta medalist Alexiposad showed that he is one of the front runners to look out for.
00:09He clocked the fastest time of the boys under 2100 meters in a time of 10.56 seconds.
00:15.14's Akias Charles produced the second fastest time with a 10.67 finish
00:20and UTT's Daniel Briggs the third, 10.73.
00:24For the girls under 20, Imani Mills of Memphis Pioneers brought the heat.
00:28She had the fastest time of 11.96 seconds.
00:31Zeta Charles of .14, 12.35 seconds.
00:35Noemi Theodore having the third fastest time, 12.36 seconds.

01:04And she is setting down a marker here as she has taken a commanding lead.

01:18Darius Tavernier had the quickest time for the boys under-17, 400 meters, 50.83 seconds.
01:25Isaiah John, also of Burnley, had a good performance as well with a time of 52.05 seconds.
01:31He's making a charge of it, but he's not going to catch Tavernier.
01:35Whoa, and that is a staggering time from Tavernier, 50.77.
01:45And in the 1,500 meters, the big names came out.
01:49Tafari Waldron, Darius Harding, and Donnell Francis.
01:52Harding had the fastest time of 4 minutes, 4.39 seconds.
01:57Francis clocking 4 minutes, 4.51 seconds.
02:00Well, I hope the officials have messed this up because I think Darius Harding is finishing his run there.
02:08He did a .356 that last .406.
