Johnny Temple, born on October 18, 1906 in Canton, Mississippi, was an American Chicago blues guitarist and singer. He learned to play guitar as a child and began performing at house parties as a teenager. In the early 1930s, Johnny Temple moved to Chicago and started playing with Joe McCoy. His recording career began in 1935, and in 1936, his hit record "Louise Louise Blues", was released by Decca Records. He continued recording with various labels through the 1940s. After World War II, Johnny Temple welcomed blues musicians arriving from the South. In the mid-1950s, he returned to Mississippi and performed in clubs around Jackson before becoming a minister. He died of cancer on November 22, 1968, aged 62, in Jackson.
