Friedemann Immer is a German trumpeter and baroque trumpet pioneer born on 8 April 1948 in Duisburg. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik Köln between 1978 and 1984 after abandoning his initial studies in science and medicine. Immer reached wider visibility as a specialist in historical instruments such as the cornetto and the baroque trumpet. His career included over 20 years as the solo trumpeter for the ensemble Concentus Musicus Wien under Nikolaus Harnoncourt and 25 years as the first trumpeter for the Freiburger Barockorchester. He also performed with groups including the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and Boston Baroque. Immer's recording career consists of more than 200 recordings, including the first recording of Joseph Haydn's Trompetenkonzert Es-Dur (1987) on a keyed trumpet. In 1988, he founded the Trompeten-Consort Friedemann Immer, an ensemble specializing in baroque trumpet music. He received the Christopher Monk Award in 2021 for his work in the research and revival of historical brass instruments. Immer served as the first deputy mayor of Niederkassel in 2025.
