Matakustix, the stage name of Matthias Ortner from Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Austria, began his musical journey in 2012 with a solo project that blended Austropop with influences from traditional folk music and beatboxing. Ortner's lyrics are delivered in Kärntnerischer Dialekt. Before Matakustix, Ortner toured Europe with his band J.O.E.L. In 2014, he released his debut album Gluatmugl. The same year saw the release of several singles including "Haiboden" and "Lenz." In 2016, Matthias Ortner released his second album K'mot which included the single "Auf die Leidenschoft." In 2019, Matakustix signed with Universal Music. The same year, he released two more singles: "AlmÖsiKing" and "Mehr gschmust." In 2020, Matthias Ortner released "Irgendwas geht imma," followed by "Wunderschönes Mädchen" in 2021.
