Youth of Today, an American hardcore punk band, was formed in Danbury, Connecticut, in 1985 by Ray Cappo and John Porcelly. Their debut EP, Can't Close My Eyes, was released in 1985 through Positive Force Records. The band's lineup evolved over the years, with notable members including Walter Schreifels and Sammy Siegler. Their first full-length album, Break Down the Walls, was released in 1986 by Wishingwell Records. In 1988, they released We're Not in This Alone under Caroline Records and We Bite Records. The band disbanded in 1990, releasing their final single, "Disengage", that same year. Youth of Today played a significant role in establishing the "Youth Crew" subculture, promoting straight edge and vegetarian lifestyles. Post-breakup, Cappo formed Shelter and Better Than a Thousand, while other members continued with various projects. The band reunited for tours in 2003 and 2010.
