Neville Stewart, known professionally as Tinga Stewart, was born around July 3, 1950, in Kingston, Jamaica. He started his career in the late 1960s with his first single "She's Gone" released in 1969 alongside Ernest Wilson of The Clarendonians. Stewart earned a hit in 1973 with "Funny Feeling" and won the Festival Song Contest in 1974 with "Play de Music". He won the contest again in 1981 with "Nuh Wey Nuh Better Dan Yard", and was voted the most popular reggae artist in Jamaica that year. Stewart released several albums, including I Feel The Music (1981) and Key to Your Heart (1983), and collaborated on notable singles such as "Take Time To Know" with Ninjaman. He toured extensively, participating in the Reggae Sunsplash world tour in 1989.
