Elton Anderson

Elton Anderson was an American singer born on 9 February 1930 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as swamp pop. Between 1956 and 1957 he performed as the featured vocalist for the Sid Lawrence Band at The Southern Club in Opelousas. His recording career began with the track "Shed So Many Tears" (1959). He achieved professional recognition for the track "Secret of Love" (1960) which reached number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 22 on the R&B chart. After signing with the label Capitol Records he released the track "Life Problem" (1962) which was characterized as a salty rock ballad. His recording career includes additional material released on Lanor Records after he relocated to California. Anderson died on 13 November 1984.
