Márta Kurtág, born Kinsker Márta on October 1, 1927 in Esztergom, Hungary, was a classical pianist and academic piano teacher. She studied piano with András Mihály and Leó Weiner before meeting her future husband György Kurtág in Budapest. They married in 1947, and she began teaching at the Béla Bartók Music High School in 1953. She and György performed together for over six decades, including international festivals. Their collaborative performances often featured pieces from his collection Játékok, which they also recorded together. Notable recordings include Beethoven: Diabelli Variations (2009). They performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in 2009 and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in 2013. She passed away on October 17, 2019.
