Trilogy, an American freestyle and hip hop group from New York City, was formed in 1984 by Carlos “CNR” Rivera, Duran Ramos, and J.R. Mansanet. Their breakthrough came with the 1986 single "Red Hot", followed in 1987 by "Latin Love", both of which received extensive club play and radio rotation. In 1988, the trio released "Gotta Be Free", and later that year Rivera departed, replaced by Angel DeLeon. The lineup continued to evolve, adding Kenny Diaz and later Darrin Henson, and the group began collaborating with producers Robert Clivillés and David Cole. In 1991, Trilogy issued the single "Love Me Forever Or Love Me Not", which peaked at number 82 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group released the maxi-single Take A Toke – The Remix in 1994 with C+C Music Factory and toured with them in 1995. Trilogy disbanded in June 1995 after the tour. In 2007, Ramos, Rivera, and Mansanet reunited for a performance at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Arena.
