Tony Booth, born February 7, 1943, in Tampa, Florida, is an American country music singer. He began his career with the Mel Savage Band and later toured with Jimmy Snyder. His debut single "Wishful Thinkin'" and album Country '67 were released in 1967 under the stage name "Johnny Booth." In 1970, Booth's single "Irma Jackson" reached the charts, and his band won the Academy of Country Music award for Best Non-Touring Band three consecutive years from 1970 to 1972. He signed with Capitol Records in 1971 and released several albums, including The Key's in the Mailbox. The next album's hit single "Lonesome 7-7203" peaked at number 6 on the charts.
