Orquesta Riverside, a Cuban big band, was founded in 1938 and initially directed by Enrique González Mantici. The ensemble quickly gained popularity during the 1940s and 1950s under various directors including Antonio Sosa, Pedro Vila, Adolfo Guzmán, Argelio González, and Nelson Arocha. Notable members included Tito Gómez on lead vocals from 1942 to 1975 and Peruchín on piano and arrangements from 1946 to 1959. The band's success continued until it disbanded in 1993 after a period of declining popularity. In the late 1990s, Raúl Nacianceno Miyares revived the group with young musicians, playing the same arrangements as decades prior.
