János Sebestyén was born on March 2, 1931, in Budapest, Hungary, and was an organist and harpsichordist. He began his musical education at the State Music Secondary School in 1946, studying under István Antal and János Hammerschlag. He continued his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, graduating with an organ diploma in 1955. His career included concert tours across Europe, Russia, India, Japan, and the United States. In 1970, he established the first harpsichord class at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He received numerous awards, including the Ferenc Erkel Award in 1967 and the Liszt Ferenc Award in 1974. He also contributed to Hungarian Radio from 1950 until his death on February 4, 2012.
