Cyndia Sieden, born September 10, 1961 in California, USA, is an American coloratura soprano known for her work on opera and concert stages. She received early vocal instruction in California and studied under Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. In 1984, she made her European debut at the Bavarian State Opera in The Barber of Seville and her American debut in La Fille du Régiment. Sieden has performed at major opera houses worldwide, including Munich's Bavarian State Opera, Paris's Opéra Bastille, Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu, La Monnaie in Brussels, London’s Royal Opera House, and the English National Opera. Her Metropolitan Opera debut was as the title role of Alban Berg's Lulu. Notable roles include Ariel in Thomas Adès' The Tempest at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
