Georg Zeppenfeld

Georg Zeppenfeld, born in 1970 in Attendorn, Germany, is a German bass opera singer. He began his musical training at the Attendorn Music School and with the Neu-Listernohl Men's Choir before studying music education and German studies. He later specialised in concert and operatic singing at the music academies in Detmold and Cologne and studied with Kammersänger Hans Sotin. Zeppenfeld became a full-time soloist at the Semperoper Dresden in 2001, where he has since performed a wide repertoire, including Sarastro in The Magic Flute and King Marke in Tristan und Isolde. His career has earned him the Christel Goltz Prize (2003), the title of Sächsischer Kammersänger (2015), and the Austrian Music Theatre Prize for Parsifal at the Vienna State Opera (2018).
