Janis Oliver, born on March 1, 1954, and Kristine Arnold, born on November 28, 1956, are American country music sisters from Manhattan Beach, California, who formed the duo Sweethearts of the Rodeo. After performing as teenagers in the bluegrass scene under the name the Oliver Sisters, they were discovered by Emmylou Harris and signed to Columbia Records in 1985. Their self-titled debut album, Sweethearts of the Rodeo (1986), featured the single “Midnight Girl/Sunset Town”, which peaked at number 4 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Their subsequent albums for Columbia Records include One Time, One Night (1988) and Buffalo Zone (1990), producing several top 10 country hits such as “Since I Found You”, “Chains of Gold”, “Satisfy You”, and “Blue to the Bone”. After leaving Columbia Records, they recorded the albums Rodeo Waltz (1993) and Beautiful Lies (1996) for Sugar Hill Records, followed by their final studio album, Restless, in 2012.
