Ian Graham Tracey, also known as Ian Tracey, was born on May 27, 1955, in Liverpool, United Kingdom, and is an English organist and choirmaster. He studied under Noel Rawsthorne, then at Trinity College, London, and in Paris with André Isoir and Jean Langlais. In 1980 he became the youngest cathedral organist in the United Kingdom when he succeeded Rawsthorne at Liverpool Cathedral. He has recorded solo and orchestral works, including Organ Recital (1989) and Fantaisie Triomphale (2007). He has served as Master of the Choristers, City of Liverpool organist, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Chorus Master, and has been a professor at Liverpool John Moores University. In 2006, he received an honorary Doctor of Music from the University of Liverpool, and in 2015 he was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside.
