Éric Heidsieck, born on August 26, 1936 in Reims, France, is a classical pianist. He gave his first recital at age nine and performed his debut concert with an orchestra in May 1947, playing a piano concerto by Mozart. He studied at the École normale de musique from 1944 to 1952 and later at the Conservatoire de Paris under Marcel Ciampi. In 1958, he served in the military in Algeria. Éric Heidsieck won the Grand Prix du Disque (EMI) in 1959 for his recording of Mozart's Concertos No. 21 and No. 24. Throughout his career, he recorded over one hundred albums, including notable works like Chopin, Liszt: Concerto Nº 1 Pour Piano Et Orchestre. He taught at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Lyon for eighteen years.
