Wayne Parkinson, known professionally as Baby Wayne, was born on 13 December 1969 in Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica, and emerged as a dancehall singer noted for socially conscious lyrics. He first gained attention with the 1991 single "Mama" produced by Steely & Clevie, followed by tracks such as "Road Mi Waan Come" and "Warder". His single "Mi Know Mi Fren," recorded in 1993 with Leroy Smart, entered Jamaica's top ten. In 1994, under Heartbeat Records, he released his debut album Ram DJ, featuring collaborations with Sugar Minott and Dennis Brown. In 1995, Baby Wayne released the follow‑up album Move With the Crowd and worked with producer Lloyd Dennis on "Tongue Make Not". He passed away on 28 October 2005 at Kingston Public Hospital after complications from pneumonia.
