Robert Holl, born on March 10, 1947, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is a Dutch bass‑baritone. He is an opera, concert, and lied singer, composer, and vocal pedagogue who studied in Rotterdam before winning the first prize at the International Singing Competition in ’s‑Hertogenbosch in 1971. After further training with Hans Hotter in Munich, he secured the first prize at the ARD Competition in 1972. His career progressed through concert and lied performances across Europe, the United States, Israel, and Japan, collaborating with conductors such as Eugen Jochum and Konrad Richter. His discography includes Mozart's La finta semplice, Schubert's Fierrabras, Purcell's The Fairy Queen, and Martin's The Storm. He received the title of Kammersänger in 1990, the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, First Class in 2005, and was appointed Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion at the De Doelen concert hall in Rotterdam in 2007.
