Angela Denoke, born on November 27, 1961, in Stade, Germany, is a German operatic soprano known for her work in opera, lieder, and concert performances, and has also worked as a director. She began piano at four and debuted publicly at six. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under Ingrid Kremling and started her career at Theater Ulm from 1992 to 1996, performing Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, and Marschallin. From 1996 to 2000 she sang with the Stuttgart Opera, adding roles such as Eva and Sieglinde, before debuting at the Vienna State Opera in 1997. She has appeared worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera and Covent Garden, and collaborated with conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Zubin Mehta. She was awarded Singer of the Year by Opernwelt in 1999 and the Austrian Music Theatre Prize Best Director for Salome at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck in 2023.
