Celso Fonseca, born November 15, 1956, in Rio de Janeiro, is a Brazilian singer, guitarist, composer, and producer. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and pursued music professionally from the age of 19, citing guitarist Baden Powell as an early influence. Fonseca has collaborated with major Brazilian artists including Gilberto Gil, Marisa Monte, and Bebel Gilberto. He released his first album, Minha Cara, in 1986 and subsequently established himself as a music producer. In 2016, he received Latin Grammy nominations for Song of the Year for "Céu" and Best Brazilian Popular Music Album for Like Nice, which also earned engineering and production nominations. Other albums include Ao Vivo (2008) and No Meu Filme (2011).
